Sakshi named India's flag bearer for closing ceremony
Indian wrestler Sakshi Malik on 17 August 2016 won bronze in the 58 kg category at the Olympic Games in Rio.
• With this, Malik brought home India’s first medal of the competition.
• With the win, she also became India's firstss female wrestler and the fourth female athlete ever to win an Olympic medal.
• Born 3 September 1992, Sakshi Malik is an Indian freestyle wrestler.
• Her first success as a professional wrestler in the international arena came in 2010 at the Junior World Championships where she won the bronze medal in the 58 kg freestyle event.
• At the 2014 Dave Schultz International Tournament, she won gold in the 60 kg category.
• She had previously won silver medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
• At the 2015 Asian Wrestling Championships in Doha, she won the bronze medal.
17 अगस्त 2016 को भारतीय पहलवान साक्षी मलिक ने रियो में ओलंपिक खेलों में 58 किलोग्राम वर्ग में कांस्य पदक जीता था ।इसी के साथ मलिक ने प्रतियोगिता में भारत को पहला पदक दिलाया।
• इस जीत के साथ वह पहली भारतीय महिला पहलवान और चौथी महिला एथलीट बनी जिन्होंने ओलंपिक पदक जीता है।
• 3 सितंबर 1992 को जन्मी साक्षी मलिक एक भारतीय फ्रीस्टाइल पहलवान है ।
• अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्षेत्र में एक पेशेवर पहलवान के रूप में उनकी पहली सफलता जूनियर विश्व चैंपियनशिप में हुई जहाँ उन्होंने 58 किलो फ्रीस्टाइल स्पर्धा में कांस्य पदक जीता ।
• 2014 में डेव शुल्ज अंतरराष्ट्रीय टूर्नामेंट में उन्होंने 60 किलोग्राम वर्ग में स्वर्ण पदक जीता।
• उन्होंने पहले ग्लासगो में 2014 राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों में रजत पदक जीता था।
• दोहा में 2015 एशियाई कुश्ती चैंपियनशिप में, उन्होंने कांस्य पदक जीता।
