Rio bound shot putter Inderjeet Singh fails dope test: NADA
Rio-bound shot putter Inderjeet Singh became the second athlete to test positive for a banned substance.
• He was caught using a banned steroid in an out-of-competition test on June 22. Sources said it was a "fancy-sounding" drug though the name could not be ascertained.
• Gold-medallist in the Asian championships, Asian Grand Prix and the World University Games last year, Inderjeet was the first Indian athlete to qualify for Rio.
• Inderjeet had been registered by NADA for its testing pool and he was "avoiding" getting tested by the agency.
• Inderjeet returned from the US in the summer and participated in the Indian Grand Prix in the capital in April where he finished a fault-ridden second.
• Though he struggled with a shoulder injury and loss of form in recent times, but still he was considered a potential finalist in the Rio Olympics.

• वो 22 जून को प्रतियोगिता से पहले एक परीक्षण में एक प्रतिबंधित स्टेरॉयड का उपयोग करते हुएपकड़े गये थे.सूत्रों ने बताया कि यह एक " फैंसी लगने वाली " दवाई थी जिसका नाम नहीं पता चल सका ।
• इंद्रजीत पहले एशियाई चैंपियनशिप में स्वर्ण पदक विजेता , एशियाई ग्रां प्री और विश्व यूनिवर्सिटी खेलों में पिछले साल जीत हासिल कर चुके हैं उसके बाद इंद्रजीत पहले भारतीय एथलीट है जिन्हें रियो के लिए चुना गया था ।
• इंद्रजीत को नाडा द्वारा पंजीकृत किया गया था और वो एजेंसी के द्वारा जांच कराने से बच रहे थे।
• इंद्रजीत गर्मियों में अमेरिका से लौटे और अप्रैल में राजधानी में इंडियन ग्रां प्री में भाग लिया , जहां वह एक गलती से दूसरे स्थान पर रहे।
• हालांकि वो कंधे की चोट से और हाल के दिनों में फार्म की हानि के साथ संघर्ष कर रहे थे लेकिन फिर भी वह रियो ओलंपिक के संभावित फाइनलिस्ट माने जाते थे ।
