Rajamahendravaram new name of Rajahmundry (Andhra Pradesh)

Rajamahendravaram will be the new name of Rajahmundry, the historic and cultural city of Andhra Pradesh, as announced by state Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The name “Rajamahendravaram” is derived from a Chalukya dynasty ruler of the 11th century who ruled over the city. Rajahmundary is famous for Tobacco Research Institute of India.
