Pushpa Kamal Dahal elected as 39th Prime Minister of Nepal
Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist Chairperson (CPN-MC) Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' on 4 August 2016 was elected the 39th Prime Minister of Nepal.
• Pushpa Kamal Dahal had served as the Prime Minister of the country from 2008 to 2009.
• He led the CPN (M) as it launched a communist insurgency on 13 February 1996. In the ensuing civil war, more than 17000 Nepalese died.
• He resigned as Prime Minister on 4 May 2009 after his attempt to sack the army chief, General Rookmangud Katawal, was opposed by President Ram Baran Yadav.
• He is also widely known by his nom de guerre ‘Prachanda’, a name he went by during his guerrilla days.
नेपाल में कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी ऑफ नेपाल (माओवादी सेंटर) के अध्यक्ष पुष्प कमल दहल 'प्रचंड' को 3 अगस्त 2016 को नेपाल का 39वें प्रधानमंत्री चुना गया.
• पुष्प कमल दहल ने 2008 से 2009 तक देश के प्रधानमंत्री के रूप में कार्य किया था ।
• उन्होंने 13 फरवरी 1996 को एक कम्युनिस्ट विद्रोह का शुभारंभ किया. गृहयुद्ध में 17000 नेपाली लोगो की मृत्यु हो गई।
• सेना प्रमुख जनरल रूक्मंगुद कटवाल कप हटाने के उनके प्रयास को राष्ट्रपति राम बरन यादव ने विरोध किया था जिसके बाद 4 मई 2009 को उन्होंने प्रधानमंत्री पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया।
• उन्हें व्यापक रूप से नोम डी गुएर्रे 'प्रचंड' के नाम से जाना जाता है जो उनके गुरिल्ला दिनों के दौरान उनका नाम रख दिया गया.
