Portugal has won the 2016 UEFA European football championship

Portugal on 10 July 2016 lifted the Euro 2016 football championship. In the final clash played at Saint-Denis in Paris, Portugal defeated France 1-0.
•   Substitute Eder scored in extra-time to give Portugal a win at their first major international title despite losing captain and talisman Cristiano Ronaldo to injury.
•   Eder scored the goal with 11 minutes of extra time left to stun France after the host team had dominated the match.
•   Ronaldo, Portugal's all-time leading scorer went down after a heavy tackle from Dimitri Payet in the eighth minute but played on before being replaced in the 25th minute.
•   This was France's first tournament defeat on home soil in 19 games, since 1960 third-place play-off.

पुर्तगाल ने मेजबान फ्रांस को हराकर 2016 यू.इ.एफ.ए यूरोपीय फुटबॉल चैम्पियनशिप जीता

पुर्तगाल ने 10 जुलाई 2016 को पेरिस में आयोजित यूरो कप के फाइनल मुकाबले में फ्रांस को 1-0 से हराकर यूरो कप ख़िताब जीता.
पुर्तगाल के खिलाड़ी एडर ने कप्तान रोनाल्डो के चोटिल होकर बाहर हो जाने के बावजूद एक्स्ट्रा टाइम के दूसरे हाफ में खिताबी गोल किया.
•   मेजबान टीम के दबदबे के बाद एडर ने अतिरिक्त समय के 11 मिनट रहते हुए गोल दाग कर फ्रांस को हक्का बका कर दिया ।
•   रोनाल्डो आठवें मिनट में दिमित्री पयेट के साथ कड़ी टक्कर के बाद खेलते हुए करीब 25वें मिनट में खेल से परिस्थापित हो गये ।
•   1960 के बाद तीसरे स्थान पर प्ले ऑफ होने के बाद से 19 मैचों में घरेलू सरजमीं पर फ्रांस की ये पहली हार है
