Milkha singh to be given the Bharat Gaurav Award

Kolkata’s football club East Bengal on 26 July 2016 announced that the 2016 Bharat Gaurav Award, also known as Pride of India Award, will be conferred on legendary athlete Milkha Singh.
•   Milkha Singh is a former Indian track and field sprinter.
•   He is also known as The Flying Sikh.
•   He was introduced to the sport while serving in the Indian Army.
•   He also won gold medals in the 1958 and 1962 Asian Games.
•   He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1958.
•   East Bengal Football Club is a professional football club.
•   It is based in Kolkata, West Bengal.
•   It was founded on 1 August 1920.
•   It currently competes in the I-League, the top-tier of Indian football pyramid.
•   The club is the current holder of the Calcutta Football League.
•   The club has represented India the most number of times in the Asian competitions.

मिल्खा सिंह को भारत गौरव पुरस्कार दिया जाएगा

देश का अग्रणी फुटबॉल क्लब ईस्ट बंगाल एथलीट मिल्खा सिंह को भारत गौरव पुरस्कार से सम्मानित करेगा. क्लब के सचिव कल्याण मजूमदार ने 26 जुलाई 2016 को यह घोषणा की.
•   मिल्खा सिंह एक पूर्व भारतीय ट्रैक और फील्ड धावक है ।
•   उन्हें फ्लाइंग सिख के रूप में जाना जाता है।
•   भारतीय सेना में सेवारत रहते हुए वो इस खेल में आये ।
•   1958 और 1962 एशियाई खेलों में उन्होंने स्वर्ण पदक जीता।
•   उन्हें 1958 में पद्मश्री से सम्मानित किया गया ।
•   ईस्ट बंगाल फुटबॉल क्लब एक पेशेवर फुटबॉल क्लब है।
•   यह कोलकाता, पश्चिम बंगाल में आधारित है।
•   इसे 1 अगस्त 1920 को स्थापित किया गया था ।
•   यह वर्तमान में आई लीग , भारतीय फुटबॉल पिरामिड के शीर्ष स्तरीय प्रतिस्पर्धा में भाग लेता है ।
•   क्लब कलकत्ता फुटबॉल लीग के मौजूदा धारक है।
