Mahindra Aerostructures have bagged a Tier 1 supplier
Mahindra Aerostructures, have bagged a Tier 1 supplier contract to supply airframe parts for Airbus’s AS565 MBe Panther helicopter.
• With this, Mahindra Aerostructures becomes the first Indian company to receive a direct manufacturing contract from Airbus (European aviation major) as a Tier 1 supplier.
• The helicopter parts will be produced at Mahindra’s facility in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
• They will be shipped directly to the Airbus Helicopter production line in Marignane, France.
• In this facility these parts will be integrated with the rest of the airframe assembly and will form a critical part of the Panther helicopters sold worldwide.
• Airbus Helicopters and Mahindra Defence are in the process of forming a joint venture (JV) to target India’s military helicopter programmes under the Make In India initiative.
• The JV will be formed for producing Naval Utility Helicopter, the Naval Multi-Role Helicopter and the Reconnaissance and Surveillance Helicopter for Indian Navy.
• It will play pivotal role in making blueprint that will put India on the world map for military helicopter manufacturing.
एयरबस हेलीकॉप्टर्स ने महिंद्रा एरोस्ट्रक्चर के साथ टीयर 1 में अपने हेलीकॉप्टर एएस565 एमबीई पैंथर के लिए पुर्ज़े बनाने के लिए डील साइन की है।
• इस नई डील के साथ ही महिंद्रा एयरोस्ट्रक्चर्स पहली ऐसी भारतीय कंपनी बनी है जिसने सीधा एयरबस (यूरोप की प्रमुख एविएशन कंपनी) हेलीकॉप्टर्स से कॉन्ट्रैक्ट हासिल करने में सफलता पाई हो।
• महिंद्रा इस फ्रेंच कम्पनी के लिए बेंगलुरू स्थित अपने प्लांट में एयरफ्रेम के पुर्ज़े बनाएगी और इन्हें समुद्र के रास्ते फ्रांस स्थित एयरबस प्लांट भेजा जाएगा। इन पुर्ज़ों को वहां शेष हेलीकॉप्टर में जोड़ा जाएगा।
• इस प्लांट में वो पुर्जे बनेंगे जिसे दुनियाभर में पैंथर हेलीकाप्टर को बेचा जा सकेगा.जो पुर्ज़े महिंद्रा को बनाने की ज़िम्मेदारी मिली है, वे एयरबैस के दुनियाभर में बिकने वाले पैंथर हेलीकॉप्टरों में बहुत अहम योगदान देते हैं
• एयरबस हेलीकॉप्टर्स और महिंद्रा ने जॉइंट वेंचर किया है ताकि भारतीय सेना के हेलीकाप्टर प्रोग्राम्स में भाग लिया जा सके मेक इन इंडिया के तहत
• जॉइंट वेंचर इसीलिए भी है ताकि इंडियन हेलीकॉप्टर्स प्रोग्राम्स जैसे कि नैवल यूटिलिटी हेलीकॉप्टर, नैवल मल्टी रोल हेलीकॉप्टर और रीकॉनैज़ेंस और सर्विलांस हेलीकॉप्टर आदि में मदद मिल सके।
• ये कदम भारत के लिए दुनियाभर में मिलिट्री हेलीकाप्टर बनाने की दिशा में एक ब्लूप्रिंट की तरह काम करेगा
