Karun Nair became second Indian to score triple century in Tests
Indian cricketer Karun Nair on 19 December 2016 scored triple century in first innings of the fifth and final test-match against England.
● The match is being played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
● With this, Nair became the second Indian batsmen to score triple century in tests. Earlier, Virendra Sehwag scored two triple centuries in test matches.
● Karun Nair’s unbeaten 303 helped India to reach 759/7 score. This score also helped India to lead England by 282 runs.
● In the first innings of the match England scored 477 runs.
● In the test cricket history, a triple century has been scored by 26 different batsmen on 30 different occasions.
● These triple centuries were scored by batsmen from eight of the ten test cricket playing nations. No cricketer from Zimbabwe and Bangladesh has scored 300.
भारत और इंग्लैंड के मध्य 19 दिसंबर 2016 को खेले जा रहे पांचवें टेस्ट मैच में करुण नायर ने खेल समाप्त होने तक नाबाद 303 रन बनाये. करुण नायर का यह तीसरा टेस्ट मैच था.
● इस टेस्ट मैच में करुण नायर द्वारा बनाये गये रनों से कई रिकॉर्ड बने और टूटे. इस पारी में भारतीय टीम का कुल स्कोर 759 रन रहा.
● करुण नायर पहला शतक लगाने के बाद तिहरा शतक लगाने वाले पहले भारतीय क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी बने.
● पहली बार भारतीय क्रिकेट खिलाड़ी ने पहले अंतरराष्ट्रीय टेस्ट मैच में शतक लगाने के बाद उसे तिहरे शतक (300 रन) में बदला.
● उन्होंने 15 वर्ष पूर्व वीवीएस लक्ष्मण द्वारा बनाये गये 281 रनों का रिकॉर्ड तोड़ा. उन्होंने पांचवें स्थान पर खेलते हुए 200 रन बनाये थे.
● विनोद काम्बली द्वारा 1993 में पहली बार शतक लगाकर उसे दोहरे शतक में बदले गये रिकॉर्ड को भी करुण ने तोड़ा.
● वह सबसे तेज़ 200 रन बनाने वाले खिलाड़ी भी बने.
● करुण नायर ने 200 रन पूरे करने के लिए 306 गेंदों का सामना किया.
