Journalist Cho S Ramaswamy passes away
Veteran journalist, political analyst and comedian Cho S Ramaswamy passed away on 7 December 2016 following a prolonged illness at Apollo Hospital in Chennai. He was 82. He is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
● Ramaswamy was a law graduate, a play writer and a stage actor and also directed several movies and was also a screen play writer.
● He practised law in the Madras High Court in 1957-63 and served as a legal adviser to TTK & Co, group Companies, till 1978.
● He was a member of the BRC cricket club which played in the II division of Madras Cricket Association (now Tamil Nadu Cricket Association) in the 1950's.
● He was nominated to the Rajya Sabha under the previous NDA government in 1999.
● He had acted in movies along with MG Ramachandran, Sivaji Ganesan, Jayalalithaa, Kamal Hassan, Rajinikanth and others.
● He had written, directed and acted in over 20 Tamil plays which were performed over 5000 times.
● He also acted in 180 movies, scripted 14 and directed four.
● He founded and edited the political magazine Thuglak magazine.
वरिष्ठ पत्रकार एवं पूर्व सांसद चो रामास्वामी का 7 दिसम्बर 2016 को चेन्नई स्थित अपोलो अस्पताल में निधन हो गया. वे 82 वर्ष के थे.
● चो रामास्वामी का जन्म 5 अक्टूबर 1934 को हुआ था.
● वे मशहूर राजनैतिक पत्रिका तुगलक के संस्थापक और संपादक थे.
● उन्हें व्यंग्यकार के रूप में जाना जाता था.
● उनके संबंध राजनीति से लेकर फिल्मी दुनिया की बड़ी हस्तियों से थे.
● उन्होंने कई फिल्मों में अभिनय भी किया.
● अपने फिल्मी जीवन में रजनीकांत और कमल हासन जैसे बड़े अभिनेताओं के साथ काम किया.
● रामास्वामी तमिलनाडु की दिवंगत मुख्यमंत्री जयललिता के राजनीतिक सलाहकार भी रहे थे.
● वे भारतीय जनता पार्टी की ओर से राज्यसभा में भी भेजे गए थे.
● वे राज्य और केन्द्र सरकार के मुखर आलोचक के तौर पर जाने जाते थे.
● वे बहुमुखी प्रतिभा के धनी थे तथा मंच अभिनेता भी रहे.
● उन्होंने कई फिल्मों का निर्देशन करने के साथ-साथ उनकी पटकथा भी लिखी.
● इसके अलावा वे एक सफल और मशहूर अभिनेता भी थे.
