India to have 1 billion Unique Mobile Subscribers by 2020
India will have almost one billion unique mobile subscribers by 2020 and already now is the worlds second largest smartphone market.
● It has overtaken the US in first half of 2016 with an installed base of 275 million devices.
● The number of 4G connections is forecast to grow rapidly, growing from just three million at the end of 2015 to 280 million by 2020.
● In addition, the industry is set to invest heavily, with operator CAPEX growing to $34 billion (Rs 2.3 lakh crore) for the period 2016 to 2020, the report noted.
● In 2015, the country’s mobile industry generated economic value equivalent to 6.5 per cent of the country’s GDP, a contribution that amounts to more than $140 billion (Rs nine lakh crore).
● This contribution is expected to grow to $210 billion (Rs 14 lakh crore) by 2020, the findings showed.
जीएसएमए के एक अध्यन से पता चला है कि भारत में 2020 तक लगभग 1 अरब मोबाइल उपभोक्ताओं के होने की संभावना है और भारत दुनिया की दूसरी सबसे बड़ी स्मार्टफोन बाजार भी बन जाएगा।
● कम कीमत वाले स्मार्टफोन और 3 जी, 4 जी नेटवर्क की उपलब्धता से अधिक लोगों को मोबाइल सेवाओं का उपयोग करने में मिल रहा है।
● जीएसएमए ने दावा किया है कि भारत में कुल मोबाइल उपयोगकर्ताओं की संख्या जून के अंत तक 616 मिलियन हो जाएगी।
● जीएसएमए के एशिया प्रमुख आलसदायर ग्रांट ने एक पत्रिका से कहा कि स्मार्टफोन कनेक्शन की बिक्री 3 जी और 4 जी नेटवर्क के तेजी से विस्तार की वजह से बढ़ेगा।
● रिलायंस जियो के आने से विकास को और बढ़ावा मिलेगा।
● जीएसएमए ने आगे कहा मोबाइल ऑपरेटरों ने बाजार के रुझान को देखते हुए नेटवर्क कवरेज में सुधार करने के लिए भारी निवेश कर रहे हैं।
● 2020 तक 3जी भारतीय मोबाइल उपयोगकर्ताओं की संख्या 90% होने की उम्मीद है तो वहीं 4 जी 70% लोगों के लिए उपलब्ध हो सकता है।
