India's winning streak at the 7th Asian Indoor Athletics Championships, Doha, Qatar

Triple jumper RenjithMaheswary, made India proud on 20 January 2016 by winning a silver medal at the 7th Asian Indoor Athletics Championships organized in Doha Qatar. The first Asian Indoor Athletics Championships were held in the year 2004.

• • Maheswary’s jump that fetched him a silver medal measured 16.16 metres.
• •  A jump of 16.69 metres fetched the gold medal for Roman Valiyev from Kazakhistan.
• • The bronze was also bagged by Kazakhistan’ Rashid Ahmed Al Mannai with a jump of 15.97 metres.
• • India’s Mayookha Johny won a gold medal in the long jump and a silver medal in triple jump in the woman category.
• • Dutee Chand broke the national record for the 60 metre dash and won a bronze medal for India in the same event.
• • Bengal’s Sugandha Kumari won her third medal for India by claiming a bronze medal in the women’s 1500 metre.
