Union Minister Piyush Goyal to launch Global Innovation Index 2019
• Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal planned to launch the Global Innovation Index (GII) on July 24. The theme of the event is "Evaluating the Medical Innovation Scenario of the Next Decade."They will launch in the presence of the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) Director General Francis Gurry.
• The launch of GII mainly shows the innovation rankings of economies and findings for this corresponding fiscal year. The 12th edition of GII with 129 countries under its observation. The GII measures innovation friendly are based on the environment of global economies.There are around 80 entries.
Aim:
The main aim is to highlight the role and dynamics of medical innovation to implement the future of healthcare and the potential impact on the economic growth.
The GII started to assess the innovation capabilities of national economies worldwide. The initiative will make to feel the countries facilitate innovation was done by INSEAD and World Business in 2007.
INTERNATIONAL:
The US and South Korean military exercises to be held in August despite warning from North Korea
• The 19-2 Dong Maeng (alliance) exercise, an annual military exercise between the US and South Korean military exercises, will be held in the month of August, despite the warning from North Korea.
• The announcement was made by Choi Jong-kun, the secretary for peace planning to South Korean President Moon Jae-in.
• Earlier, the United States and South Korea had suspended a large-scale exercise and it also canceled a second exercise after the Singapore summit in June 2018.
• Reason:
The reason cited by South Korea is the exercise will affect the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) -U.S. working-level negotiations.

चंद्रयान 2 की आज दोपहर 2:43 बजे होगी लॉन्चिंग, मिशन की 978 करोड़ आई है लागत
• चांद पर भारत के दूसरे महत्वाकांक्षी मिशन चंद्रयान-2 को सोमवार को यहां से सबसे शक्तिशाली रॉकेट जीएसएलवी-मार्क III-एम1 के जरिए प्रक्षेपित किया जायेगा। चेन्नई से लगभग 100 किलोमीटर दूर सतीश धवन अंतरिक्ष केन्द्र में दूसरे लॉन्च पैड से चंद्रयान-2 का प्रक्षेपण अपराह्न दो बजकर 43 मिनट पर किया जायेगा। इस मिशन की लागत 978 करोड़ रुपए है। एक सप्ताह पहले तकनीकी गड़बड़ी आने के बाद चंद्रयान-2 का प्रक्षेपण रोक दिया गया था।
भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (इसरो) के वैज्ञानिकों ने 15 जुलाई को मिशन के प्रक्षेपण से 56 मिनट 24 सेकंड पहले मिशन नियंत्रण कक्ष से घोषणा के बाद रात 1.55 बजे इसे रोक दिया था। कई दिग्गज वैज्ञानिकों ने इस कदम के लिए इसरो की प्रशंसा भी की थी। उनका कहना था कि जल्दबाजी में कदम उठाने से बड़ा हादसा हो सकता था। तीन दिन पहले ही इसे प्रक्षेपित किये जाने की नई तिथि की घोषणा की गई थी।
चंद्रयान-2 के सभी आंकड़े नासा से साझा नहीं करेगा इसरो
इसरो ने घोषणा की कि रविवार (21 जुलाई) की शाम छह बजकर 43 मिनट पर प्रक्षेपण के लिए 20 घंटे की उल्टी गिनती शुरू हो गई। इसरो के अनुसार 'चंद्रयान-2 चंद्रमा के दक्षिणी ध्रुव क्षेत्र में उतरेगा, जहां वह इसके अनछुए पहलुओं को जानने का प्रयास करेगा। इससे 11 साल पहले इसरो ने अपने पहले सफल चंद्र मिशन 'चंद्रयान-1 का प्रक्षेपण किया था जिसने चंद्रमा के 3,400 से अधिक चक्कर लगाए और यह 29 अगस्त, 2009 तक 312 दिन तक काम करता रहा।
इसरो ने इस मिशन के प्रक्षेपण की नई तिथि की घोषणा करते हुए 18 जुलाई को ट्वीट किया था, '' 'बाहुबली' कहा जाने वाला जीएसएलवी मार्क-।।। रॉकेट अब अरबों लोगों के सपने को 'चंद्रयान-2 के रूप में चंद्रमा पर ले जाने के लिए तैयार है।" उन्होंने कहा, ''3,850 किलोग्राम वजनी 'चंद्रयान-2 का प्रक्षेपण श्रीहरिकोटा के सतीश धवन अंतरिक्ष केंद्र से 22 जुलाई 2019 को अपराह्न दो बजकर 43 मिनट पर होगा। यह अपने साथ एक ऑर्बिटर, एक लैंडर और एक रोवर ले जाएगा और चंद्रमा के दक्षिणी ध्रुव पर उतरेगा।"
इस मिशन के प्रक्षेपण की पूर्व संध्या पर इसरो के अध्यक्ष के. सिवन ने बताया कि सभी तैयारियां हो गई हैं और गड़बड़ी को ठीक कर लिया गया है। उन्होंने यहां आते समय चेन्नई हवाईअड्डे पर पत्रकारों से कहा, ''15 जुलाई को सामने आई तकनीकी खामी को दूर कर लिया गया है। प्रक्षेपण यान अच्छी स्थिति में है...(प्रक्षेपण से पहले) का अभ्यास सफलतापूर्वक ढंग से पूरा किया गया है।" इसरो प्रमुख ने कहा कि वैज्ञानिक चांद के दक्षिणी ध्रुव क्षेत्र में चन्द्रयान-2 के लैंडर को उतारेंगे जहां अब तक कोई देश नहीं गया है।

उत्तर कोरिया ने चेताया, अमेरिका-दक्षिण कोरिया का सैन्य अभ्यास परमाणु वार्ता पर असर डालेगा
• उत्तर कोरिया ने मंगलवार को चेतावनी दी कि अमेरिका-दक्षिण कोरिया के बीच अगले महीने होने वाले सैन्य अभ्यास से प्योंगयांग और वाशिंगटन की बीच प्रस्तावित परमाणु वार्ता प्रभावित होगी।
हाल ही में अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप और उत्तर कोरिया के नेता किम जोंग उन रुकी हुई परमाणु निरस्त्रीकरण वार्ता को फिर से शुरू करने पर सहमत हुए थे, जिसके बाद उत्तर कोरिया की ओर से आया यह पहला बयान है।
उत्तर कोरिया की समाचार एजेंसी 'केसीएनए' पर विदेश मंत्रालय के एक प्रवक्ता की ओर से जारी बयान में कहा गया है कि ऐसे समय में जब उत्तर कोरिया और अमेरिका के बीच वार्ता आयोजित करने के प्रयास जारी हैं, अमेरिका, दक्षिण कोरिया के साथ सैन्य अभ्यास की योजना बना रहा है। अगर ऐसा हुआ तो इससे वार्ता प्रभावित होगी।

संजीव कुमार सिंगला को इज़राइल में भारत का राजदूत नियुक्त किया गया
• वरिष्ठ राजनयिक संजीव कुमार सिंगला को इज़राइल में भारत का नया राजदूत नियुक्त किया गया है। विदेश मंत्रालय ने शुक्रवार को यह जानकारी दी। वह पवन कपूर का स्थान लेंगे, जिन्होंने 2016 में इज़राइल में राजदूत के रूप में पदभार ग्रहण किया था।
• 1997 बैच के भारतीय विदेश सेवा के अधिकारी सिंगला, प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के निजी सचिव (पीएस) के रूप में कार्यरत थे। उन्हें 2014 में इस पद पर नियुक्त किया गया था।
