RBI may set-up a digital payments ombudsman by March 2019
09 November 2018 Current Affairs: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) may set-up an ombudsman for digital payments by March to reduce the burden on banking ombudsman because of a rising number of complaints.
Who is the Banking Ombudsman?
The Banking Ombudsman actually is a senior official appointed by the RBI to redress customer complaints against pitfalls in the stipulated banking services covered by the Banking Ombudsman Scheme 2006.
The Banking Ombudsman may award compensation not exceeding Rs 1 lakh to the complainant for mental agony and harassment.
Allahabad Bank to get 3,054 crore capital infusion from govt
• State-run Allahabad Bank on Thursday said the Centre is infusing Rs 3,054 crore into it during the current fiscal.
• Allahabad Bank had posted a loss of Rs.1, 944 crore in the June quarter compared to a profit of Rs. 28.8 crore a year ago.
• The bank received Rs. 1,790 crore as capital from the government in July this year.
• Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had imposed additional restrictions on the bank under the Prompt Corrective Action (PCA) framework in May this year.
Cabinet clears strategic sale of government stake in Dredging Corporation
The Union Cabinet on Thursday approved the strategic sale of government stake in Dredging Corporation of India to a consortium of four ports.
The government currently holds 73.44 per cent in Dredging Corporation of India Ltd (DCIL).
Every graduate girl in Bihar to get Rs 25,000 now
• Bihar government has approved a proposal to pay Rs 25,000 to every girl graduating in 2018 and onwards.
• The one-time payment will be made to every girl who graduated from the colleges of the state on or after April 25 this year, irrespective of pass division, community or region.
• The Cabinet alloted 300 crore rupees for disbursal of this payment to an estimated one lakh twenty thousand girls expected to clear their graduation course this year.
• The scheme is a part of a larger government scheme that aims to pay each girl 54 thousand rupees including the payments made to her, right from birth to graduation.

Bilateral Exercise SIMBEX 18 - marks Silver Jubilee this Year
The 25th edition of SIMBEX, an acronym for “Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise” is scheduled from 10th to 21st November 2018 off Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
Bilateral cooperation between Singapore and India was first formalised when RSN ships began training with the Indian Navy in 1994.
SIMBEX 2018 will be the largest edition since 1994 in terms of scale and complexity.
Defence Minister inducts K9 Vajra, M777 howitzer guns into Army
The Army on Friday inducted new artillery guns and equipment, including K9 Vajra and M777 howitzers, at Deolali artillery centre in Nashik district of Maharashtra.
The induction ceremony took place in the presence of Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Army chief General Bipin Rawat.

Cabinet approves extradition agreement with Morocco
Union Cabinet chiared by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday approved signing and ratifying the extradition agreement between India and Morocco.
The agreement will provide a strong legal base for the extradition of fugitive offenders who are accused of economic offences, terrorism and other serious offences in one contracting state and found in another contracting state.

आरबीआई मार्च 201 9 तक डिजिटल भुगतान लोकपाल स्थापित कर सकता है
रिजर्व बैंक ऑफ इंडिया (आरबीआई) बढ़ती संख्या में शिकायतों की वजह से बैंकिंग लोकपाल पर बोझ कम करने के लिए मार्च तक डिजिटल भुगतान के लिए एक लोकपाल स्थापित कर सकता है।
बैंकिंग लोकपाल कौन है?
बैंकिंग लोकपाल वास्तव में बैंकिंग लोकपाल योजना 2006 द्वारा निर्धारित बैंकिंग सेवाओं में संकट के खिलाफ ग्राहक शिकायतों को हल करने के लिए आरबीआई द्वारा नियुक्त एक वरिष्ठ अधिकारी है।
बैंकिंग लोकपाल मानसिक पीड़ा और उत्पीड़न के लिए शिकायतकर्ता को 1 लाख रुपये से ज्यादा मुआवजे का पुरस्कार नहीं दे सकता है।
इलाहाबाद बैंक सरकार से 3,054 करोड़ पूंजी निवेश प्राप्त करेगी
• राज्य संचालित इलाहाबाद बैंक ने गुरुवार को कहा कि केंद्र चालू वित्त वर्ष के दौरान इसमें 3,054 करोड़ रुपये का निवेश कर रहा है।
• इलाहाबाद बैंक ने जून तिमाही में एक साल पहले 28.8 करोड़ रुपये के मुनाफे की तुलना में 1, 9 44 करोड़ रुपये का नुकसान दर्ज किया था।
• बैंक को इस साल जुलाई में सरकार से पूंजी के रूप में 1,7 9 0 करोड़ रुपये मिले।
• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (आरबीआई) ने इस साल मई में प्रॉम्प्ट सुधारक कार्रवाई (पीसीए) ढांचे के तहत बैंक पर अतिरिक्त प्रतिबंध लगाए थे।
कैबिनेट ड्रेजिंग निगम में सरकारी हिस्सेदारी की रणनीतिक बिक्री को मंजूरी
केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने गुरुवार को चार बंदरगाहों के एक संघ के लिए भारत के ड्रेजिंग निगम में सरकारी हिस्सेदारी की सामरिक बिक्री को मंजूरी दे दी।
वर्तमान में सरकार के ड्रेजिंग कॉर्पोरेशन ऑफ इंडिया लिमिटेड (डीसीआईएल) में 73.44 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी है।
बिहार में हर स्नातक लड़की को अब 25,000 रुपये मिलेगा
• बिहार सरकार ने 2018 में और उसके बाद स्नातक की हर लड़की को 25,000 रुपये देने का प्रस्ताव मंजूर कर दिया है।
• इस साल 25 अप्रैल को या उसके बाद राज्य के कॉलेजों से स्नातक की उपाधि प्राप्त करने वाली प्रत्येक लड़की को एक बार का भुगतान किया जाएगा, निरपेक्ष पास डिवीजन, सामुदायिक या क्षेत्र।
• कैबिनेट ने इस भुगतान के वितरण के लिए 300 करोड़ रुपये आवंटित किए हैं, अनुमानित एक लाख बीस हजार लड़कियां इस वर्ष स्नातक पाठ्यक्रम को क्लियर करने की उम्मीद कर रही हैं।
• यह योजना एक बड़ी सरकारी योजना का हिस्सा है जिसका लक्ष्य है कि प्रत्येक लड़की को जन्म से स्नातक स्तर तक, उसके द्वारा किए गए भुगतान सहित 54 हजार रुपये का भुगतान करना है।

भारत और सिंगापुर की नौसेना के बीच संयुक्त अभ्यास-सिमबेक्स 2018 की 25वीं वर्षगांठ
भारत ओर सिंगापुर की नैासेना के बीच संयुक्त द्विपक्षीय अभ्यास-सिमबेक्स 10 से 21 नवंबर 2018 के बीच अंडमान समुद्र और बंगाल की खाड़ी में आयोजित किया जाएगा। यह सिमबेक्स की 25वीं वर्षगांठ होगी।
भारत और सिंगापुर के बीच नौसैनिक सहयोग की शुरूआत 1994 में हुई थी, जब सिंगापुर नौसेना के जहाजों ने भारतीय नौसेना के साथ प्रशिक्षण आरंभ किया था।
भारत और सिंगापुर के बीच 1994 से शुरू हुए संयुक्त नौसैनिक अभ्यास का इस बार का संस्करण सबसे बड़ा होगा।
रक्षा मंत्री ने के 9 वज्र, एम 777 होवित्जर बंदूक सेना में प्रवेश किया
सेना ने शुक्रवार को महाराष्ट्र के नासिक जिले के देवलाली तोपखाने केंद्र में के 9 वजरा और एम777 होविट्जर समेत नई तोपखाने बंदूकें और उपकरण शामिल किए।
प्रेरण समारोह रक्षा मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण और सेना प्रमुख जनरल बिपीन रावत की उपस्थिति में हुआ था।

मंत्रिमंडल ने भारत और मोरक्को के बीच प्रत्यर्पण समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर तथा अनुमोदन करने की मंजूरी दी
प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की अध्यक्षता में केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने भारत और मोरक्को के बीच प्रत्यर्पण समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर तथा अनुमोदन करने की मंजूरी दी है। 11-18 नवम्बर, 2018 के दौरान मोरक्को के अति विशिष्ट व्यक्ति के प्रस्तावित यात्रा के दौरान इस समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किये जायेंगे।
लाभ :
इस समझौते से आर्थिक अपराध, आतंकवाद और अन्य गंभीर अपराधों के आरोपियों/ भगोड़ों को दोनों देशों के बीच प्रत्यर्पण करने के लिए एक मजबूत कानूनी आधार मिलेगा।
