Former Union Minister LP Shahi passes away
  
●        Senior Congress leader and former Union minister LP Shahi died on Saturday in All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
●        He was 98 years old.
●        Shahi was first elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly in 1980 and then in 1984 he became a MP from Muzaffarpur.

Air India demands additional funds of Rs 2,000 crore from the government
 
●        Air India , which is facing financial difficulties, has demanded additional fund of Rs 2,000 crore from the government.
●        The airline expects the government to approve it in the monsoon session.
●        In 2012, the UPA government announced a bailout package of Rs 30,231 crore for Air India.
●        The company has so far received 26,000 crore rupees.


Central Government constitutes 3 panels for 'Prime Minister of India' museum project
 
●        The Central Culture Ministry constituted three high level panels on 5th June 2018 so that a museum called 'Prime Minister of India' can be established in Delhi.
●        This museum will be built on the Prime Ministers of India with modern technology in the three statue estate in the Ministry of Culture.
●        This museum will provide information about the Prime Ministers of the country till date.


Central government prepares for merger of four public sector banks

●        Four banks can be merged to improve the continuous rising deficit on the banking sector.
●        Under this, a big bank can be created by combining IDBI, Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC), Central Bank of India and Bank of Baroda (BOB).
●        The property of this new bank could be Rs 16.58 lakh crore.

China agrees to export rice
●        The new agreement to ensure the sanitation of non-basmati rice imported by China and its healthcare was signed by the China Customs Administration and the Agriculture, Cooperatives and Farmers Welfare Department of India.
●        Under this, India can export certified non-basmati rice to China.
●        China is one of the world's largest rice markets.
  

Pak election: JUD will drop to 200 seats
●        Mumbai terror mastermind Hafiz Saeed of a terrorist group Jamaat-ud-Dawa has fielded more than 200 candidates in the general elections to be held across the country on July 25 at the national and provincial assembly seats.
●        Saeed has decided not to contest elections himself.
●        Jamaat-ud-Dawa, affiliated with the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, launched its political party, the Milli Muslim League, but it has not yet been registered with the Pakistan Election Commission.


India-China trade to reach $ 100 billion by 2020
 
●        With the agreement to import non-basmati rice from India, China's President Xi Chunfing suggested to try to reach the trade between the two countries to $ 100 billion by 2020 in bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi .
●        Prime Minister Modi has reached the summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization. There was a separate meeting with his President, Chinfing.

●        Indian boxer N. Lalabakkima defeated Olympic champion Hashabai Dusmatov in the Preliminary Cup tournament in Kazakhstan's Astana, defeating the semi-finals.
●        Manipur's boxer won the biggest win of career and won the match 4-1.
 
 
Rob Nicol of New Zealand retired from cricket
●        New Zealand cricket opener Rob Nicol said goodbye to International Cricket on Saturday.
●        Nicole played 2 Tests, 22 ODIs and 21 T20 matches for the Kiwi team and scored 941 runs, including two centuries in ODIs.
 
 
Tejaswini won gold at the US Inter-University Competition
 
●        National record holder high jump player Tejaswini Shankar named the gold medal in the US National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) track and field championship.
●        19-year-old Tejaswini of Delhi had recently decided to withdraw from Asian Games because of a throat injury.
●        Tejaswini's national record is 2.28 meters.
 
 
Simona Halep won the first Grand Slam title in the French Open
 

●        World number-1, Simona Halep of Romania has won the title of the second Grand Slam tournament of the year, French Open.
●        Halep won his first Grand Slam title, defeating America's Sloane Stephens in the women's singles category final played on Saturday.
 

Mithali Raj became the first Indian to score 2000 runs in T20 Internationals
 
●        India's star woman cricketer Mithali Raj became the first Indian cricketer to score 2000 runs in T20 internationals.
●        This achievement was achieved by winning a seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in the Women's Asia Cup T20 tournament in Sri Lanka with a score of 23 runs in Oshadi Ranasinghe.
●        Now in his 75 matches 2015 runs.

SBI to get Rs 30 thousand crore from IBC
 
●        SBI, the country's largest bank, is expected to recover its nearly Rs 30,000 crore in the current financial year from the settlement process under the Debt Orientation and Diwali Code (IBC).
●        Deputy Managing Director Pallava Mohapatra, who saw the cases of non-recovering loans from State Bank of India, said that the money collected by SBI alone alone is about Rs 78000 crore.
 

World Bank approves 'Atal Bhujal Yojna' of 6,000 crores
 

●        The World Bank has approved the Central Sector Scheme of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Protection Ministry at a cost of 6000 crores.
●        The scheme is to be implemented in the five year period of 2018-10 to 2022-23 with the help of World Bank.

 Two battalions will be created separately to protect the border areas
 
●        Two battalions will be set up separately for the security of the international border in Jammu and Kashmir and from zero to ten kilometers of the LoC.
●        The Home Minister has announced the formation of seven more battalions with it.
●        The Union Home Minister had reached Jammu and Kashmir on a two-day visit on 07 June 2018.

Global Peace Index 2018: India ranked 137th
 
●        In the Global Peace Index released by the Institute for Economic and Peace, India, in 2018, India remained at number 137 in the list of 163 countries.
●        India was at 141th place in the list in the year 2017 and this time, due to the increase of four places in the ranking of India, the decline in the level of violent crime is being reported.
