Narendra Modi and President of South Korea inaugurated Mobile Production Unit at Noida
●        Narendra Modi and President of the Republic of Korea Mr. Moon inaugurated a huge mobile production unit of Samsung India Electronics Private Limited in Noida today.
●        He said that investment of nearly Rs. 5000 crore will not only strengthen the business relationship of Samsung with India but it is also very important in the context of relations between India and Korea.
 
 
India Smart Cities Fellowship and India Smart Cities Internship Program Launched
 

●        Minister of State in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs Hardeep S. Puri has said that from the Smart Cities Fellowship and Internship program, the youth will get an opportunity to experience different aspects of urban planning and governance.
●        Announcing the launch of Smart City Digital Payment Award, Hardeep S. Puri said that its aim is to promote 'Digital India' by encouraging Smart Cities to promote innovative digital payment initiatives along with promoting digital payments and simplifying the lives of India's urban residents.
 

Government declares 6 academic "excellence institutions"
 

●        The government has selected 6 excellent institutions, out of which 3 are from public sector and 3 are from private sector.
●        Public Sector: (i) Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Karnataka (ii) Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, Maharashtra and (iii) Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
●        Private sector: (i) Geo Institute (Reliance Foundation) Pune, under the Green Field category (ii) Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences, Pilani, Rajasthan; And (iii) Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal, Karnataka.
 
  
ADB's approval for the project of the Son Canal system in Shahabad-Bhojpur area of Bihar

 
●        Today, the Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy R.K. Singh held a meeting with officials of the Asian Development Bank and the Ministry of Finance to review the progress of the project of the Son Nahar system of the Kishahabad-Bhojpur area of Bihar in his office in Delhi.
●        ADB representatives in the meeting told that ADB has approved the project.
 
 
Indian Railways Launched First Double Stack Dwarf Container Service from Rajkot Division of Western Railway
●        Under the guidance of Finance, Corporate Affairs, Rail and Coal Minister Shri Piyush Goyal, Indian Railways has launched 'Double Stack Dwarf Container' services.
●        Its purpose is to regain that level of traffic through the new delivery model for domestic cargo, which has seen a decrease during past years.
●        The freight train was flagged off during its first commercial operation from Rajkot railway station of Western Railway on July 07, 2018.
 

Ministry of Culture will organize 'India Tourism Mart' in New Delhi from September 16 to 18.
●        Union Minister of State for Tourism J. Alfonz announced today that in collaboration with State / Union Territories and Indian Tourism and Hospitality Federation, the Tourism Ministry will organize 'India Tourism Mart' in New Delhi's Vigyan Bhawan from 16 to 18 September 2018.
●        Keeping in mind the tourism march being organized in other countries of the world, 'India Tourism Mart' is being organized.


54,723 children kidnapped in India in year 2016: Home Ministry
●        As many as 55,000 children were abducted from India this year according to the figures released by the Home Ministry in the year 2016.
●        This figure is 30% higher than the figures from a year ago.
●        In the year 2017-18, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs, 54,723 children were abducted but only 40.4 percent cases were filed in the charge sheet.


Constitution bench was reconstituted to hear Section 377 of IPC
 
●        The Constitution bench of five judges will start hearing from the Supreme Court on July 10, 2018, on petitions demanding that Article 377 of the IPC be given an unconstitutional agreement.
●        Section 377 of Indian Penal Code calls for criminal sex to establish homosexual sex.
●        The bench will also hear the issue of disputed issues related to the ban on entry of women from the age group of 10 to 50 years in Sabarimala temple in Kerala.

 
Justice Adarsh Kumar Goyal appointed NGT chairman

 
●        Mr. Justice Kumar Goyal, who retired from the Supreme Court, was appointed the President of the National Green Tribunal on July 06, 2018.
●        Earlier, Justice Owais Kumar was the NGT president while Justice Javed Rahim is the acting president.
●        According to an order issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Justice Adarsh Kumar Goyal has been appointed as NGT Chairman for five years.
 
 
Jefferies gave 'bye' rating to Yes Bank
 

●        Global Brokerage firm Jefferies has given Yes Bank a 'bye' rating of target price of Rs 440 per share.
●        This is 25% less than the current market price, since the rating upgrade of the CARE has reduced the bank's funding cost by 0.30-0.40%.
 

46 proposals amended in GST law
 
●        Now the employer will be able to get in-cut credit for GST paid on facilities like food, drink, transport and insurance provided to his employees .
●        A proposal in more than 40 proposals of amendment to the GST Act has also been made for such provision.
●        It will come into effect after its passage by Parliament and State Legislatures.


Organic India can take stake in Nutrihealth
 
●        Organic food and supplements company Organic India Nutritionist is in talks to buy a large stake in Shicha Sharma's company Nutrihealth .
●        The organics fund is the control of the philanthropic company Fabindia.
●        At the same time, Nutrihealth offers Personalized Nutrition Management Service.
●        Organic India can buy a 20-40% stake in Nutrihealth in Delhi.
 

Himachal Pradesh banned the use of pottery made from thermocol
 
●        Himachal Pradesh Government announced the sale of thermocol pots in the entire state on July 07, 2018.
●        Governor Acharya Devvrat issued the order.
●        In this order it has been said that keeping in mind the environment, order is being given that the cup, plate, glass, spoon, bowl or any kind of utensils of the thermocol will not be sold in the state.

Israel passed a resolution against polluting companies
●        According to the bill passed by the Israeli Ministerial Committee, now civil citizens and NGOs can file cases in civil courts against polluting companies.
●        This bill was passed by the Government of Israel on 08 July 2018.
●        This bill will put pressure on those legendary companies who do not follow the rules made by the state for pollution control.

China reduced import duty on Indian medicines
 
●        India-China has decided to reduce import duty on imported drugs in China under an agreement .
●        On Monday the Ministry of External Affairs said that a movie in China was shown to patients suffering from leukemia.
●        It was also shown that if medicines from India are easily imported, then patients can get relief.

Deepa Karmakar becomes the first Indian player to win gold medal in gymnastics world cup
 
●        India's famous gymnastics woman player Deepa Karmakar made history by winning gold at the Gymnastics World Cup on July 8, 2018.
●        This World Cup was organized in Turkey under the name of World Challenge Cup.
●        Deepa secured first place with a score of 14.150 in gymnastics Vault competition.
