India ranks 129th in 2019 human development index; Top- Norway
• India has been ranked at 129th spot in the 2019 Human Development Index released by United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Last year India was ranked 130th.
• As per the 2019 Human Development Report (HDR), the 2019 Human Development Index has been topped by Norway. Switzerland is on second while Ireland is on the third.
• South Asia was the fastest-growing region witnessing 46 Percent growth during 1990-2018.
Ex-Petroleum Secy Chaturvedi appointed NSE Chairman
• Former bureaucrat Girish Chandra Chaturvedi has been appointed as the Chairman of the governing board of the NSE.
• The development comes after NSE received regulator SEBI”s approval on Chaturvedi”s appointment. He held the post of Public Interest Director at the company.
• “The Board and the Management of National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) welcomes Girish Chandra Chaturvedi, a retired IAS Officer and former Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, as the new Chairman of NSE,” the stock exchange major said in a statement.
India Among Top 10 in 2019 Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI): Report
• The 2019 Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) was presented at the ongoing COP25 climate summit in Madrid, Spain on December 10, 2019.
• India has for the first time emerged among the top 10 countries with higher climate performance.
• It has been ranked at 9th spot in the index for its Climate Policy performance among 57 countries and European Union.
• However, the first three places of the ranking remain unoccupied, since none of the countries is on a path compatible with the Paris climate targets, to implement strategies to limit global warming below 2 or even 1.5°C.
• Sweden (4th) and Denmark (5th) were the top rankers in the index.
• The ranking takes into consideration various criteria’s such as
• country’s energy use,
• its per capita emissions,
• its emission reduction targets for 2030,
• its national and international climate policy,
• renewable energy deployment and
• past trends of emissions.
Finland elects Sanna Marin, the youngest-ever Prime Minister
• Finland’s Social Democrats elected a 34-year-old former transport minister to the post of the prime minister, making her the youngest head of government in the country’s history.
• Sanna Marin narrowly won vote to replace outgoing leader Antti Rinne, who resigned after losing the confidence of the coalition partner Centre Party over his handling of a postal strike.
• At 34, Marin also becomes one of the world’s youngest state leaders, ahead of Ukraine’s prime minister Oleksiy Honcharuk, who is currently 35.
India to launch spy satellite, 9 others on Dec 11
• India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket would launch the country’s latest spy satellite RISAT-2BR1 and nine foreign satellites on December 11, said the Indian space agency.
• According to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), the rocket numbered as PSLV-C48 will lift off at 3.25 p.m. with RISAT-2BR1, a radar imaging earth observation satellite weighing about 628 kg.
• The rocket will blast off from the first launch pad at Sri harikota rocket port in Andhra Pradesh and place RISAT-2BR1 into an orbit of 576 km. The satellite will have a life of five years.
• Piggybacking on the Indian satellite would be nine foreign satellites from the USA (multi-mission Lemur-4 satellites, technology demonstration Tyvak-0129, earth imaging 1HOPSAT), Israel (remote sensing Duchifat-3), Italy (search and rescue Tyvak-0092) and Japan (QPS-SAR – a radar imaging earth observation satellite).
• These international customer satellites are being launched under a commercial arrangement with New Space India Limited (NSIL).

• International Anti-Corruption Day is observed annually on 9 December to raise public awareness for anti-corruption.
• The day is observed since the passage of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption on 31 October 2003.

मानव विकास सूचकांकः भारत एक पायदान ऊपर, 129वें स्थान पर पहुंचा
मानव विकास सूचकांक में बेहतर प्रदर्शन से भारत एक पायदान ऊपर 130 से 129 पर पहुंच गया है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र विकास कार्यक्रम (यूएनडीपी) की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, भारत में 2005-06 से 2015-16 के दौरान 27.1 करोड़ लोगों को गरीबी से बाहर निकाला गया।
यूएनडीपी की भारत स्थित प्रतिनिधि शोको नोडा ने बताया, 189 देशों की सूची में पाकिस्तान तीन पायदान की छलांग लगाते हुए 150 से 147वें स्थान पर पहुंच गया। वहीं बांग्लादेश दो पायदान ऊपर पहुंच कर 134वें स्थान पर है।
उन्होंने बताया कि भारत पिछले साल इस सूची में 130वें पायदान पर था। उसका मानव विकास सूचकांक मूल्य 0.647 है, जबकि दक्षिण एशिया का 0.642 है। रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, पिछले तीन दशकों में तेजी से विकास के कारण गरीबी में कमी आई है। इसके साथ ही जीवन प्रत्याशा में वृद्धि, शिक्षा और आयुष्मान भारत जैसी स्वास्थ्य सेवा तक आम जनता की पहुंच के कारण रैंकिंग में यह सुधार देखने को मिला है। उन्होंने कहा कि 1990 से 2018 के दौरान दक्षिण एशिया में 46 फीसदी विकास हुआ। उसके बाद पूर्वी एशिया और प्रशांत क्षेत्र में 43 फीसदी विकास हुआ।

गिरीश चंद्र चतुर्वेदी एनएसई के नये चेयरमैन नियुक्त
प्रमुख शेयर बाजार नेशनल स्टॉक एक्सचेंज (एनएसई) ने जनहित निदेशक गिरीश चंद्र चतुर्वेदी को चेयरमैन नियुक्त किया है।एनएसई ने शुक्रवार को एक बयान में कहा कि पूंजी बाजार नियामक भारतीय प्रतिभूति एवं विनिमय बोर्ड (सेबी) की मंजूरी के बाद यह नियुक्ति की गयी है। यह पद अशोक चावला के जनवरी में एनएसई के चेयरमैन पद से इस्तीफे के बाद से खाली था। बयान के अनुसार सेवानिवृत्त आईएएस अधिकारी और पेट्रोलियम तथा प्राकृतिक गैस मंत्रालय में पूर्व सचिव चतुर्वेदी को एनएसई के संचालन मंडल का चेयरमैन नियुक्त किया गया है।
भारत पहली बार जलवायु परिवर्तन प्रदर्शन सूचकांक में शीर्ष दस देशों में शामिल
भारत पहली बार इस वर्ष के जलवायु परिवर्तन प्रदर्शन सूचकांक (सीसीपीआई) में शीर्ष दस देशों में शामिल हुआ है। वहीं पहली बार अमेरिका सबसे खराब प्रदर्शन करने वाले देशों में शामिल हुआ है।
स्पेन की राजधानी मैड्रिड में ‘काप-25’ जलवायु परिवर्तन सम्मेलन में मंगलवार को सीसीपीआई रिपोर्ट जारी की गई। रिपोर्ट में कहा गया कि भारत में प्रति व्यक्ति उत्सर्जन और ऊर्जा इस्तेमाल का मौजूदा स्तर उच्च श्रेणी में नौवें स्थान पर है। हालाकि, यह अभी तुलनात्मक रूप से कम है। अपनी जलवायु नीति के प्रदर्शन के लिए उच्च रेटिंग के बावजूद विशेषज्ञों का कहना है कि भारत सरकार को अभी जीवाश्म ईंधन पर दी जारी रही सब्सिडी को चरणबद्ध तरीके से कम करने के लिए रूपरेखा बनानी होगी, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप कोयले पर देश की निर्भरता कम हो जाएगी।
31 देशों में उत्सर्जन का स्तर कम
रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, कहा गया है कि 57 उच्च उत्सर्जन वाले देशों में से 31 में उत्सर्जन का स्तर कम होने के रुझान दर्ज किए गए हैं। ये देश 90 प्रतिशत उत्सर्जन के लिए जिम्मेदार हैं। जर्मनवाच, न्यू क्लाइमेट इंस्टीट्यूट एंड क्लाइमेट एक्शन नेटवर्क की ओर से संयुक्त रूप से पेश सूचकांक के लेखकों में से एक उर्सुला हेगन ने कहा कि कि नए जलवायु परिवर्तन प्रदर्शन सूचकांक से कोयले की खपत में कमी समेत उत्सर्जन में वैश्विक बदलाव के संकते दिखाई देते हैं।
सना मरीन बनीं फिनलैंड की सबसे युवा प्रधानमंत्री, दुनिया में सबसे कम उम्र की पीएम का रुतबा भी किया हासिल
फिनलैंड की सोशल डेमोक्रेट पार्टी ने रविवार (8 दिसंबर) को प्रधानमंत्री पद के लिए 34 वर्षीय पूर्व परिवहन मंत्री सना मरीन को चुना। इसी के साथ वह देश के इतिहास में सबसे युवा प्रधानमंत्री बन गई हैं।
मरीन ने रविवार को हुआ मतदान जीतकर निवर्तमान नेता एंटी रिने का स्थान लिया जिन्होंने डाक हड़ताल से निपटने को लेकर गठबंधन सहयोगी सेंटर पार्टी का विश्वास खोने के बाद मंगलवार (3 दिसंबर) को इस्तीफा दे दिया था।
मरीन ने रविवार रात को पत्रकारों से कहा, ''हमें फिर से विश्वास बहाल करने के लिए काफी काम करना होगा।" अपनी उम्र से संबंधी सवालों पर उन्होंने कहा, ''मैंने कभी अपनी उम्र या महिला होने के बारे में नहीं सोचा। मैं कुछ वजहों से राजनीति में आयी और इन चीजों के लिए हमने मतदाताओं का विश्वास जीता।" मरीन (34) दुनिया की सबसे युवा राष्ट्र प्रमुख बन गई है। उनके बाद यूक्रेन के प्रधानमंत्री ओलेक्सी होन्चारुक अभी 35 वर्ष के हैं।
International Anti Corruption Day 2019: अंतरराष्ट्रीय भ्रष्टाचार विरोधी दिवस
भ्रष्टाचार एक दीमक की तरह है जो हमारे समाज को, हमारी अर्थव्यवस्था को और कुल मिलाकर पूरे देश को खोखला कर रहा है। यह समाज और देश के विकास में बड़ी बाधा है। दुनिया का लगभग देश इस समस्या से ग्रसित है। इसी को ध्यान में रखते हुए 31 अक्टूबर, 2003 को भ्रष्टाचार के खिलाफ संयुक्त राष्ट्र के सम्मेलन में प्रस्ताव पारित हुआ था। उसके बाद से हर साल 9 दिसंबर को अंतरराष्ट्रीय भ्रष्टाचार विरोधी दिवस मनाया जाता है। इसका मुख्य रूप से मकसद भ्रष्टाचार के बारे में लोगों के बीच जागरूकता पैदा करना है।
भारत 11 दिसंबर को जासूसी सहित 10 उपग्रह करेगा लॉन्च
भारत का ध्रुवीय उपग्रह प्रक्षेपण यान (पीएसएलवी) रॉकेट 11 दिसंबर को देश के नवीनतम जासूसी उपग्रह आरआईएसएटी-2बीआर1 और नौ विदेशी उपग्रहों को लॉन्च करेगा। भारतीय अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी ने यह जानकारी दी। भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन (ISRO) के अनुसार, रॉकेट पीएसएलवी-सी48 अपरान्ह 3.25 बजे आरआईएसएटी-2बीआर1 के साथ उड़ान भरेगा। आआईएसएटी-2बीआर1, एक रडार इमेजिंग पृथ्वी निगरानी उपग्रह है, जिसका भार 628 किलो है।
रॉकेट, आंध्र प्रदेश के श्रीहरिकोटा रॉकेट पोर्ट के पहले लॉन्च पैड से लॉन्च होगा और आरआईएसएटी-2बीआर1 को 576 किमी की कक्षा में स्थापित करेगा। उपग्रह की आयु पांच साल की होगी।
भारतीय उपग्रह के साथ नौ विदेशी उपग्रह भी जाएंगे, जिसमें अमेरिका (मल्टी-मिशन लेमूर-4 उपग्रह), टेक्नोलॉजी डिमॉस्ट्रेशन टायवाक-0129, अर्थ इमेजिंग 1हॉपसैट), इजरायल (रिमोट सेंसिंग डुचिफट-3), इटली (सर्च एंड रेस्क्यू टायवाक-0092) व जापान (क्यूपीएस-एसएआर-एक रडार इमेजिंग अर्थ ऑब्जरर्वेशन सैटेलाइट) शामिल हैं।
