Ministry of Water Resources approves two major irrigation and four flood management projects of six states
●        The Consultative Committee of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Protection Ministry yesterday gave approval to two major irrigation / multipurpose and four flood management projects of six States / Union Territories in the meeting held in New Delhi yesterday.
●        The total cost of these projects is 84,748 crores.
 
 
Colonel Rajyavardhan Rathore approved the upward revision in pension for talented sportspersons

India's maternal mortality rate decreased by 22 percent
 
●        India has recorded a significant decrease of record 22 percent in the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) from the year 2013 in India.
●        This information was given on the basis of the data collected by the Sample Registration System (SRS) on June 06, 2018.
●        According to the report, in India 2011-13, the maternal mortality rate was 167, which was reduced to 130 in 2014-16.


Air India raised tariff on additional luggage in domestic flights
 
●        Public Air India said on Wednesday that it has its domestic flights range overweight charge storage 100 to Rs 500 per kg increase per kilogram bucks.
●        Air India is currently charging a fee of Rs 400 per kilogram on additional weight.
●        The new rate will be applicable from June 11.

●        In the next 180 days, a new owner can be searched for the company through bidding.
 

Labor Minister to increase salary limit to 21 thousand
 
●        After a one-year delay, the Labor Ministry can now increase the ceiling of salary from Rs 15,000 to Rs 21,000 to increase the number of subscribers within the purview of pension.
●        This will result in an additional burden of about Rs 2,500 crore per year on the public exchequer.
●        On increasing the wage limit, nearly 6 million people will be eligible to receive a minimum pension of 1,000 rupees under the Government Employee Pension Scheme.

Army personnel will buy personal clothes
●        The Seventh Pay Commission has given monetary compensation to the army personnel so that the soldiers are allowed to buy clothes individually for uniform under the army's management.
●        Annual allowance of Rs 10,000 has been paid to all the jawans instead of individual selected clothes.
●        Accordingly, the army has arranged to buy good clothes from CSD shops.

DAC approves equipment purchase proposals worth more than Rs 5,500 crore for defense forces
●        The Defense Purchase Council (DAC) meeting was held here under the chairmanship of Defense Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman and approved equipment purchase proposals worth more than Rs 5,500 crore for defense forces.
●        In order to achieve the goal of indigenization and self-reliance in the field of defense purchase, DAC has allowed the purchase of 12 high power radars for the Indian Air Force under the 'Buy IDDM (Indian)' class.

●        The decision to allow urban cooperative banks, who meet the fixed standards for small financial banks (SFBs), is allowed to be converted into SFB on a voluntary basis.
