Central Information Commission organized seminar on Right to Information Act, 2005


●        The Central Information Commission today organized a workshop on "Rights and Right to Information Act, 2005" here.
●        Chief Information Commissioner, Information Commissioners, former Information Commissioners, State Information Commissioners, NGOs and other stakeholders participated in this workshop.
●        The workshop was inaugurated by the welcome speech of Chief Information Commissioner Shri Radha Krishna Mathur.


PNB started using Artificial Intelligence to match accounts
 
●        Punjab National Bank has decided to deploy the Artificial Intelligence (AI) for matching the accounts in view of the recent fraud .
●        The bank, influenced by the scam in FAQs, said, "PNB has already taken measures to strengthen internal audit.
●        Simultaneously, the bank is also considering the deployment of technology to improve customer service and customer accountability.
 
Government in preparation for creating an advanced platform to handle huge data
 
●        The government is contemplating to create an advanced technology platform to handle and understand the country's huge data.
●        This will help in understanding the success of citizens, government expenditure and policies, consumption trends etc.
●        Data will be in complete form and personal and identifiable data will not be collected.
●        The objective behind this is to increase transparency in the functioning of the government and the citizens will also be given access to this data.
 
Arnav made a mind-reading device in MIT
 
●        In the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Arnav Kapoor of Indian origin has developed a device that reads the things going on in the brain and tells it through computers and mobile devices what those things are.
●        It is worn on the face, which can measure the neuromuscular signals of our nerves, body and bones.
●        Through this he can find out the things going on in the brain.

Ola is Rs 5 lakh insurance in Rs 1


●        Ola, a company providing a ride-sharing service, has announced an insurance program for passengers using their cab and auto service.
●        According to the company, those who use Ola only 1 rupee can get an insurance policy of up to Rs 5 lakh.
●        Ola has partnered with Mumbai-based company ECO General Insurance Limited and ICICI Lombard for providing travel insurance .

Nepal's Prime Minister called on the President


●        His Excellency, Prime Minister of Nepal, Mr. P. Sharma Oli presented the President of India, Shri Ram Nath, from Kovind today (07 April, 2018) in the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
●        Welcoming Mr. Oli in India, the President said that he was happy to know that after becoming Nepal's Prime Minister, this is his first foreign visit.
●        The President said that India honors him for his leadership and contributions to further the Indo-Nepal Partnership.

Korea's former President Park gets 24 years in prison
 
●        Former South Korean President Park Gunn has been convicted of corruption.
●        On Friday, Court's judge Kim Sei-Yun sentenced to 24 years in prison after 10 months of trial.
●        Incorrect use of the post on the park, and one of the closest ones to the benefit of the benefit of misuse of power behind the curtain is also included.
●        In addition to the punishment on the park, a penalty of 110 crores has also been imposed.

●        British Prince Charles participated in the inaugural ceremony and in his presence the Gold Coast welcomed players from 71 nations associated with the Commonwealth.
●        The Indian team was led by Olympic silver medalist PV Sindhu, who was the Indian flag bearer.

Poonam Yadav brought Gold
 

●        Here, in the Commonwealth Games, India won gold for the fourth consecutive day.
●        Weightlifter Poonam Yadav won gold medal in 22 kg (100 in snatch and 122 in clean and jerk) kg in 69 kg category.
●        England's Sarah Davis won the Bronze Medal from Silver and Fiji's Apollonia Yew.

Income Tax Department constituted panel to probe cases related to taxpayers
 
●        An internal panel has been constituted by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) which will investigate the tax / loan payment issues of the highly wealthy people.
●        This panel will ensure that the wealthy people pay taxes on time.
●        The panel will prepare an action plan to recover the outstanding taxes from such people.

Consumers save $ 10 billion a year from the arrival of Jio
 
●        In September 2016, Reliance Jio's entry into the Indian market and providing low cost services has saved consumers $ 10 billion annually.
●        Not only this, the country's per capita GDP has increased by 5.65 percent.

NASA will create the first supersonic passenger plane
 
●        American Space Agency NASA is now going to create a super-flying passenger aircraft with the company's voice at Lockheed Martin.
●        The specialty of this plane will be that it will not make the sound (supersonic boom) despite such a fast speed.
●        So far supersonic techniques are used only in fighter planes.
●        NASA has chosen Lockheed Martin to complete the project.
●        For this, NASA has given a contract of $ 247.5 million (about Rs 1,600 crore) to the company.
 
German scientists have grown vegetables in the world's coldest areas


●        Germany's scientists have grown green vegetables for the first time in the minus 100 degree temperature in the Antarctic.

●        All year snow falls.
●        In spite of this, scientists have grown about 3.6 kg green leafy vegetables in a special lab.

Rakesh Kumar Vats, gets additional charge of NPPA chairman
 
●        Additional Secretary Rakesh Kumar Vats, in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has been given additional charge of the President of the Mediclaim Regulatory Authority (NPPA).
●        This order has come into force with immediate effect.
●        This information has been given in an official statement.
●        Rakesh Kumar Vats has replaced Bhupendra Singh, who has been appointed as chairperson of the National Chemical Weapons Conference Authority.
