Cabinet clears sixth phase of launch of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle Mark-3
●        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has approved the program for continuation of Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) (Sixth phase) and financial support for 30 PSLV operational launch under this program.
●        This program will also meet the need for satellite observation for Earth observation, direction indicator and space science. This will also continue production in Indian industry.
 
 
Cabinet approves continuity program for Geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle Mark-III
●        The Union Cabinet, endowed with the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has approved financial support for the Geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle Mark-III continuity program.
●        This 4338.20 crore includes the cost of ten GSLV MK-III vehicles, essential facility enhancement, program management and launch campaign.
 

Approval of MoU between India and Denmark on technical cooperation in the field of sustainable and smart urban development
●        The Union Cabinet (CC), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was apprised of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between India and Denmark in April 2018 for the technical cooperation in the field of sustainable and smart urban development.
●        The purpose of this MOU is to promote bilateral cooperation in the field of continuous and smart urban development on mutual and profit basis through the exchange of commercial relations on knowledge, institutional cooperation, research and development and related issues.
 
Cabinet approves amendment in salary allowances of rural Postal Servants of Department of Posts
●        In the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet today approved amendment in the salary allowances of the post of Department of Rural Postal Service.
●        For revising the salary allowances, the estimated cost of 1257.75 crores is to be spent during the year 2018-19.
●        This amendment to salary allowances will benefit 3.07 lakh rural post offices.
 
 
Approval for the construction of a new 6-lane bridge on Ganga river in Phaphamau, Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh
●        The Cabinet Committee has approved the construction of a new bridge of 9-lane of 6-lane on the Ganges river at National Highway-96 in Phaphamau, Allahabad.
●        It will cost Rs. 1948.25 crores
●        The construction period for this project is three years and it is estimated to be completed by December, 2021.

●        The Government of India has constituted a group of eminent persons to study the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) policy.
●        The SEZ policy is effective from April 1, 2000.
●        Subsequently, in May 2005, the Parliament passed the Special Economic Zone Act, 2005 and it got President's approval on June 23, 2005.


6 times the fines for carrying more luggage in the train
●        Just like an airplane, passengers will have to be cautious when they carry more luggage over the border in the train.
●        In view of the frequent complaints about carrying luggage in train coaches, Indian Railways has decided to strictly implement the three-decade-old luggage rules strictly.
●        Under this, the passengers may have to pay more than 6 times the amount of the amount as a penalty for carrying more luggage.


Central Government constitutes 3 panels for 'Prime Minister of India' museum project
 
●        The Central Culture Ministry constituted three high level panels on 5th June 2018 so that a museum called 'Prime Minister of India' can be established in Delhi.
●        This museum will be built on the Prime Ministers of India with modern technology in the three statue estate in the Ministry of Culture.

Central government prepares for merger of four public sector banks
 
●        Four banks can be merged to improve the continuous rising deficit on the banking sector.
●        Under this, a big bank can be created by combining IDBI, Oriental Bank of Commerce (OBC), Central Bank of India and Bank of Baroda (BOB).

India and Russia agree to issue joint stamps
●        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet was apprised of the agreement regarding issuing joint stamps between Indian Postal Department and Russia Post.
●        Its aim is to achieve operational excellence for mutual benefit in the field of issue of postage stamps and to establish cooperation in the postal service.
 
 
Agreement on Technical Cooperation in the field of sustainable urban development between India and France
●        In the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet was informed about the agreement between India and France in the field of sustainable urban development in March 2018.
●        This agreement will be applicable for a period of 5 years.
 
 
Approval of Memorandum of Understanding between India and Oman on cooperation in peaceful use of outer space
●        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet cleared the Memorandum of Understanding between India and Oman (MoU).
●        On this MOU, the Indian Space Research Organization and the Transport and Communications Ministry of Oman had signed the Muscat in February 2018.

Modi government gives 8,000 crore package to help sugar industry
●        While giving relief to sugarcane farmers and sugar mills, the central government has approved the package of Rs 8,000 crore.
●        Union Food Supply and Fertilizer Minister Ram Vilas Paswan told this information while advising the Cabinet decision.
●        He said that in this package 1175 crores of sugar mills will be given in lieu of holding stock.
 
Cornellis Ricvik appointed new CEO of Go-Air
 
●        Go-Air, the economical airline service company has appointed Cornelius Risvik as its new Chief Executive Officer.
●        Their appointment has come into effect from 04 June 2018.
●        It was informed in the information issued by the company that he would report to the company's chairman, managing director and board of directors.
