Suresh Prabhu started the process of discussing new industry policy
 
●    Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Suresh Prabhu launched a series of nationwide discussion on the proposed new industry policy with the industry. The first discussion was held on February 2 in Gauhati.
●    In this meeting organized by the FICCI and the Department of Industry Policy and Promotion (DIPP), more than 120 business people participated in the meeting with the government officials of the North East.


A.K. Prasad takes charge as new Finance Commissioner in Railway Board
 
●    A.K. Prasad has been appointed ex-officio Secretary to the new Finance Commissioner (Railway) and the Government of India in the Railway Board.
●    Prasad's appointment was addressed by Mr. B.N. Mohapatra has been replaced, who retired on January 31, 2018.
●    A.K. Prasad took over as the new Finance Commissioner (Railway), which has been effective from 01 February, 2018.

Plan for the end of dowry practice
 
●    Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced on February 4, 2018 that his government would provide financial assistance to his family for the marriage of poor girls in the state.
●    Under this scheme, assistance of Rs 35,000 will be given for each marriage.
●    The main purpose of this scheme is to discourage dowry practices.

Punjab Land Reform (Amendment) Bill
 
●    Two amendments were made in the Punjab Land Reform (Amendment) Bill, 2017.
●    This information was published in a release issued by the Finance Department of Punjab's Revenue Department, Vinnie Mahajan.
●    There was a long demand for these modifications in Punjab.
●    The Panchajab land reform amendment has been amended in the interest of farmers and ordinary citizens.
●    These amendments will give farmers more opportunities and rights.


Sikkim approves people to build human relations with trees
 
 
●    The Sikkim government recently allowed the citizens of the state to have human relations such as siblings with trees.
●    In this regard, the State Forest Department has issued notification of Sikkim Forest Tree (Amity and Reversions) Rules 2017.

India's first Agri Option Trading Tool launched
 
●    National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Ltd (NCDEX) launched the first Guar Options seeds of India on January 14, 2018.
●    It is the market of India's largest agricultural products. This will save the farmers from the danger of rising prices.
●    The NCDEX platform is already in the form of informal options trading with a large number of informal business centers in some communities of Rajasthan.
 

Delhi and Punjab richest state, Jain community is most prosperous: National survey
 
●    The National Family and Health Survey Fourth Round (NFHS-4) figures have shown that Delhi and Punjab are the richest states in the country, while the Jain community is the most prosperous community.
●    In the report of the National Family and Health Survey (NFHS-4), a wealth index has been prepared.
●    This survey was done on more than six lakh houses in the year 2015-16.


Sanskrit will be taught from the next academic session in the madrasa of Uttarakhand
 
●    A committee of Uttarakhand Madrasa Education Board (UMEB) has approved the proposal to teach Sanskrit as an alternative subject in the madrasa of the entire state.
●    Simultaneously, computer science was also approved to be taught as an alternative subject.
●    As an optional subject in the madrasa of the state, the study of mathematics, science, ayush and sociology is done.

Nobel Prize Winners Seminar
●    Rashtrapati Bhavan hosted a one-day Nobel prize winners seminar organized by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, in collaboration with the Nobel Foundation (5th February, 2018) today.
●    A regular and historical relationship between the Nobel Foundation and the Indian scientific and policy community is a part of the Nobel Prize Series.
●    Addressing the inaugural session of the seminar, the President said that in the last 70 years since India became independent, our belief in science has shaped the process of our society and development.

Rear Admiral Atul Anand took over as Deputy Chief of Naval Staff - Foreign Cooperation and Intelligence (ACNs (FCI)

●    Rear Admiral Atul Anand, VSM took charge in the Ministry of Defense (Navy), the Integrated Headquarters, as Deputy Naval Chief - Foreign Cooperation and Intelligence (FCI).
●    He joined the Indian Navy's Executive Department in 1988 as a commissioned officer.
●    He has been a student of National Defense Academy, Khadakwasla and Defense Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur, Bangladesh and National Defense College, New Delhi and he is an expert in navigational and direction.

Saint Guru Ravidas help plan launched
 
●    Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on February 4, 2018, to provide loans to small artisans up to Rs 25,000 without any interest under Saint Guru Ravidas sahayata Yojana and to open hostel in the name of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar in 11 districts of the state.
●    In the State of Haryana, Antyodaya offices will be opened at the Tehsil level for giving information about the welfare schemes to Scheduled and Backward Classes.
●    Online applications will also be made to avail the benefits of these schemes.
 
 
Kusum scheme
 
●    Kusum Yojana was announced for the country's irrigation system in various announcements made during the General Budget 2018-19.
●    This plan can prove to be a big change for the farmers and the agricultural system of the country.
●    Under this scheme, all the pumps used for irrigation in the country will be made solar based.
●    Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced this while presenting the budget.

The world's smallest rocket launch
 
●    Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) launched the world's smallest rocket capable of setting up a micro-satellite in the classroom on February 03, 2018.
●    This low cost rocket was launched from the Yuichaura Space Center in Kagoshima province of Japan.
●    This rocket is a revised version of the JS-520 of the JAXX.
●    This rocket took a micro satellite with three kilograms with it and it was developed by Tokyo University to take a picture of the surface of the Earth.
 
World's highest 'air purifiers'

 
●    China has made the world's highest 'air purifiers' to reduce air pollution in Xi'an city.
●    Work on this project started in 2015.
●    The height of this purifier is 330 feet.
●    The height of this tower is more than the Qutub Minar.
●    This purifiers tower is quite like a fireplace. The width of the tower is equal to half the football ground.
●    This tower is producing clean air every day 10 million cubic meters (353 million cubic feet).

●    This photo was released on the website of the Space Agency located in the Bangalore headquarters.
