IGI gets Indias tallest ATC Tower
Union Minister of state for civil aviation Hardeep Singh Puri inaugurated a new air traffic control (ATC) tower at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi.
ATC tower:
The cost of the ATC tower is Rs.350 crore. The tower consists of three buildings: the aerodrome control tower, area approach control services building, and the administrative block. The tower is facilitated with modern air navigation systems and advanced automation systems. This will enhance safety and the capacity of air traffic operations.
The height of the ATC tower is 101.9 metres. The tower aims to reduce the pressure on controllers and provide relief to flyers from delays. The tower has over 45 workstations with better operational area visibility. The tower has multilayered security.
INTERNATIONAL:
Fourth South Asian Speakers Summit organised in Maldives
Fourth South Asian Speakers Summit on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) held in Male, the Maldives from September 1-2, jointly organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the People’s Majlis(the single legislative body of the Maldives). The summit attended by Secretary-General of the IPU, Martin Chungong and senior lawmakers from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
The Indian delegation was led by Om Birla, 17th Lok sabha speaker and the RajyaSabha’s Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh.
The Male declaration rejects Pakistan’s Kashmir issue concerns: The Malé declaration ignored Pakistan delegate QasimSuri’s concern on bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh into Union Territories(UT), raised during the summit citing the reasons that the issue wasn’t part of the summit’s agenda.
The agenda for the summit was on equal pay, youth employment, nutrition, food security and delivering the Paris agreement on climate change.The summit hold discussions on the themes
• Promoting equality at work including equal remuneration and creating jobs for young people
• Achieving SDGs 2 and 3 – Nutrition and food security as drivers of maternal, child and adolescent health in the Asia-Pacific region
• Catalyzing the global agenda on climate change overcoming challenges and utilizing opportunities to strengthen the regional agenda for delivering on the Paris Agreement.
• The previous/3rd summit was held by the Parliament of Sri Lanka in 2018.
Iranian army introduces a new homegrown jet-propelled drone called Kian
• Iranian Army unveiled a high-precision jet-propelled drone called Kian.The capacity of carrying long-time surveillance missions and attack the targets far from the country’s borders.
The unmanned military drone developed in two models.It was developed by Iranian technicians of the Army
• The tensions between Iran and the United States President Donald Trump in 2018 withdrew the US from the Iran nuclear deal -2015 and reimposed sanctions on Iran.
• The new home-grown air defense system called Bavar-373.The US withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, an agreement on Iran’s nuclear program reached in July 2015 Iran, the P5+1 (the 5 Permanent members of the United Nations Security Council-China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, United States + Germany) and the European Union.
BUSINESS AND ECONOMY:
Cabinet approves Rs.9300 crore capital infusion for IDBI Bank
• The Cabinet has approved a capital infusion plan worth Rs.9,300 crore for IDBI Bank. The bank will get the amount from its parent, Life Insurance Corp. of India.
• The aim of the move is to help narrow IDBI's losses and boost its lending capacity. The Cabinet cleared the IDBI Bank recapitalization plan with one-time infusion assets by the administration and Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) and shares of IDBI Bank jumped as much as 10.84% after the declaration.
• IDBI Bank and recapitalization plan:
The fund infusion will empower IDBI Bank to come back to benefit and give the option of recovering its investment at an opportune time.
The government will provide a one-time recapitalization of Rs.4,557 crore to IDBI Bank and LIC will infuse Rs.4,743 crore. LIC has a 51% share in IDBI Bank where 49% is with the government.
In August 2018, LIC bought a 51% stake in IDBI Bank from the government and infused Rs. 21,000 crore into it to revive the lender.

Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to award PM Modi
Bill & Melinda Gates Foundationhas announced the Global Goalkeeper Award 2019 for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The award recognizes his goal-oriented venture plan Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Along with PM Modi, 10 other individuals are to be awarded for their great work.
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan:
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan or the Clean India Mission was introduced as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on October 2 in 2014. The Swachh Bharat Abhiyan meant to make India the Open Defecation Free (ODF) by 2019. It ensures to provide sanitation facilities to all. The campaign will be completed by 2 October 2019 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation:
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the largest private foundation in the world, is a private establishment founded in 2000. It is located in Seattle, Washington. The foundation is claimed by a very rich person donor Microsoft founder Bill Gates and his significant other Melinda Gates.
Global Goalkeeper Award 2019 is a special award of the foundation. It celebrates a political leader who has demonstrated their commitment to the Global Goals through impactful work in their country or/and globally.

Qatar unveils 2022 FIFA World Cup logo round the globe
• Qatar unveiled the logo for the 2022 World Cup. It will hosted by the Gulf emirate displaying it in public spaces in Doha and cities around the world.
• The design is a stylised Arabic white unisex shawl with maroon patterning. It displayed in a figure-of-eight symbolising infinity while creating a heart shape above the words FIFA.
WORLD CUP Qatar 2022
• The logo is very elegant and showing local culture with the burgundy colour of the Qatari flag, Algerian hospitality worker Mourad Bencheikh.

आईजीआई एयरपोर्ट को मिला देश का सबसे ऊंचा एटीसी टावर
इंदिरा गांधी अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे पर सोमवार को देश के सबसे ऊंचे एयर ट्रैफिक नियंत्रण (एटीसी) टावर का उद्घाटन नागरिक उड्डयन मंत्री हरदीप सिंह पुरी ने किया। इस एटीसी टावर की ऊंचाई 102 मीटर है। इसे 350 करोड़ रुपए की लागत से तैयार किया गया है। इस 33 मंजिला टावर में 25वीं और 26वीं मंजिल पर एटीसी नियंत्रक होंगे। टावर पर रडार और एडीएस की अत्याधुनिक ऑटोमेशन प्रणाली लगी हुई है। पुराने टावर के पेपर स्ट्रिप की जगह इसमें इलेक्ट्रॉनिक फ्लाइट स्ट्रिप है। अभी हवाई अड्डे के ट्रैफिक नियंत्रण पूरी तरह से नए टावर पर स्थानांतरित नहीं होगा। मशीनों और प्रणालियों की जांच का काम अभी चल रहा है।

नए टावर का उद्घाटन करते हुए केंद्रीय मंत्री हरदीप सिंह पुरी ने कहा प्रभावी और निर्बाध हवाई यातायात नियंत्रण सुनिश्चित करने के लिए सेवाओं और प्रणालियों को बेहतर बनाना जरूरी है। इसके लिए बुनियादी ढांचों की जरूरत है। आधुनिक तकनीक के बावजूद मशीन के पीछे बैठा वह व्यक्ति अहम होता है जो उसे नियंत्रित करता है।
अंतरराष्ट्रीय:
मालदीव में आयोजित चौथा दक्षिण एशियाई वक्ताओं का शिखर सम्मेलन
मालदीव की संसद में दो दिवसीय चौथी दक्षिण एशियाई स्पीकर्स समिट की शुरुआत हुई। भारत की तरफ से भी लोकसभा अध्यक्ष ओम बिड़ला और राज्यसभा के उपसभापति हरिवंश नारायण सिंह के नेतृत्व में प्रतिनिधिमंडल इस शिखर सम्मेलन में शामिल हुआ। सम्मेलन शुरू होते ही पाकिस्तान के प्रतिनिधि कासिम सूरी ने जम्मू-कश्मीर में अनुच्छेद-370 के प्रावधानों को हटाकर उसका विशेष दर्जा खत्म करने का मुद्दा उठाने की कोशिश की, लेकिन हरिवंश नारायण सिंह ने तत्काल इसका विरोध जताया और कहा, हम इस फोरम में भारत का आंतरिक मुद्दा उठाने की कोशिश की कड़ी निंदा करते हैं। हम इस शिखर सम्मेलन के विषय से इतर मुद्दों को उठाकर इस फोरम का राजनीतिकरण करने की कोशिश को भी खारिज करते हैं।
इस दौरान हरिवंश और कासिम सूरी के बीच तीखी बहस हुई। सिंह ने एक बार फिर पाकिस्तान को आतंक का समर्थन करने की कोशिश से बाज आने की नसीहत दी। सिंह ने पाकिस्तान को ‘आतंक का पालक’ करार देते हुए कहा, क्षेत्रीय शांति व स्थिरता के लिए पाकिस्तान को तत्काल सीमा पार आतंकवाद पर अंकुश लगाने के साथ इसे अपना समर्थन देना बंद करना चाहिए। सिंह ने पाकिस्तान को अपने ही लोगों (बांग्लादेश) के नरसंहार के लिए झिड़कते हुए कहा कि ऐसे देश को कश्मीर का मुद्दा उठाने का कोई नैतिक अधिकार नहीं है।
सिंह के बोलने के दौरान ही पाकिस्तानी सीनेटर कुरात उल एन मारी ने खड़े होकर भारत के विरोध में बोलना शुरू कर दिया। शिखर सम्मेलन के इस सत्र की अध्यक्षता कर रहे मालदीव संसद के स्पीकर व पूर्व राष्ट्रपति मोहम्मद नशीद ने तत्काल मारी को रोक दिया, लेकिन मारी ने पाकिस्तान के खुद आंतक से पीड़ित होने की बात कही, तो सिंह ने तीखे अंदाज में उन्हें पाकिस्तानी कब्जे वाले कश्मीर में चल रही गतिविधियों की याद दिलाई।
ईरानी सेना ने एक नया देसी जेट-प्रोपेल्ड ड्रोन कियान को पेश किया
• ईरानी सेना ने कियान नामक एक उच्च-परिशुद्धता जेट-प्रोपेल्ड ड्रोन का अनावरण किया।इसकी लंबे समय तक निगरानी करने और देश की सीमाओं से दूर लक्ष्य पर हमला करने की क्षमता है।
मानव रहित सैन्य ड्रोन दो मॉडलों में विकसित किया गया था। इसे सेना के ईरानी तकनीशियनों द्वारा विकसित किया था
• 2018 में ईरान और संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प के बीच के तनाव ने ईरान परमाणु समझौते -2015 से अमेरिका को हटा दिया और ईरान पर प्रतिबंधों को फिर से लागू कर दिया।
व्यापार और अर्थव्यवस्था:
IDBI बैंक में 9300 करोड़ डालने पर कैबिनेट की मुहर,
• सरकार ने मंगलवार को IDBI बैंक में 9,300 करोड़ रुपये की पूंजी डालने की मंजूरी दे दी. इसका मकसद बैंक का पूंजी आधार बढ़ाना और इसे मुनाफे में लाना है. मंत्रिमंडल के निर्णयों के बारे में मीडिया से बातचीत करते हुए सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्री प्रकाश जावड़ेकर ने कहा कि इससे IDBI बैंक का कायाकल्प करने की प्रक्रिया पूरी होगी. बैंक को वापस लाभ में लाने के साथ ही बैंक सामान्य तौर पर कर्ज वितरण कार्य कर सकेगा. सरकार को उपयुक्त समय पर अपना निवेश वापस लेने का विकल्प भी इसमें होगा.
उन्होंने कहा कि कुल 9,300 करोड़ रुपये की पूंजी जरूरत में भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम (LIC) अपनी 51 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी के अनुरूप 4,743 करोड़ रुपये का निवेश करेगा. शेष 49 प्रतिशत 4,557 करोड़ रुपये की राशि एक बारगी आधार पर सरकार इसमें डालेगी. आईडीबीआई बैंक में LIC ने अपनी हिस्सेदारी जनवरी में बढ़ाकर 51 प्रतिशत कर दी. इसके बाद बैंक में सरकार की हिस्सेदारी 86 प्रतिशत से घटकर 46.46 प्रतिशत पर आ गई.
कैशलेस तरीके से डाली जाएगी पूंजी
पूंजी डालने के बाद IDBI बैंक खुद धन जुटाने में सक्षम होगा. इससे उसके अगले साल तक भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक के त्वरित सुधारात्मक कार्रवाई (पीसीए) के दायरे से बाहर आने की उम्मीद है. जावड़ेकर ने कहा, ‘‘ पूंजी डालने का यह काम एकदम नकदी रहित होगा. यह पूंजी रिकैपिटलाइजेशन बॉन्ड के जरिए डाली जाएगी. सरकार बैंक में पूंजी डालेगी और बैंक उसी दिन उस पूंजी से सरकार के रिकैपिटलाइजेशन बॉन्ड की खरीदारी करेंगे. इसका लिक्विडिटी और चालू वर्ष के बजट पर भी कोई असर नहीं होगा
पुरस्कार और सम्मेलन:
प्रधानमंत्री मोदी को एक और सम्मान, बिल एंड मेलिंडा गेट्स फाउंडेशन देगा पुरस्कार
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को एक के बाद एक लगातार सम्मान मिल रहे हैं। इस कड़ी में एक और नाम जुड़ा है। अब स्वच्छ भारत अभियान के लिए बिल एंड मेलिंडा गेट्स फाउंडेशन पीएम मोदी का पुरस्कृत करेगा। केंद्रीय मंत्री जितेंद्र सिंह ने सोमवार को यह जानकारी दी।
प्रधानमंत्री कार्यालय में राज्य मंत्री सिंह ने बताया कि जब मोदी इस महीने अमेरिका जाएंगे, तब उन्हें पुरस्कृत किया जाएगा। सिंह ने ट्वीट किया कि स्वच्छ भारत अभियान के लिए प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी, अमेरिका की अपनी यात्रा के दौरान बिल एंड मेलिंडा गेट्स फाउंडेशन पुरस्कार प्राप्त करेंगे।
उन्होंने कहा कि यह पुरस्कार हर भारतीय के लिए गर्व की बात है क्योंकि प्रधानमंत्री मोदी के अभिनव कोशिशों की दुनिया भर में तारीफ हो रही है। मालूम हो कि पीएम मोदी ने दो अक्टूबर 2014 को स्वच्छ भारत अभियान की शुरुआत की थी। इस अभियान का मकसद अक्टूबर 2019 तक स्वच्छ भारत के लक्ष्य को हासिल करना है।
खेल:
फीफा ने 2022 कतर विश्व कप का लोगो जारी किया
• फीफा और कतर की आयोजक समिति ने 2022 में होने वाले विश्व कप के लिए आधिकारिक लोगो का अनावरण किया है। दोहा में जब मंगलवार शाम को घड़ी की सूई ने 8:22 बजाए तब विशाल स्क्रीनों पर एक लोगो उभरा। यह लोगो कतर की बड़ी इमारतों और 24 अन्य देशों में देखा गया।
फीफा ने एक बयान में कहा, “लोगो पर बने कर्व रेगिस्तान के टीलों के बढ़ने और गिरने का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हैं जबकि लूप नंबर-8 को दशार्ता हैं, जो दशार्ता है कि आठ स्टेडियमों में ये मुकाबले खेले जाएंगे। इस पर एक इनफिनिटी चिन्ह भी बना हुआ है जो टूनार्मेंट के नेचर को दशार्ता है।”
समाचार एजेंसी एफे के अनुसार, लोगो की शेप विश्व कप की ट्रॉफी जैसी है। लोगो को दोहा से लेकर कुवैत और मोरक्को की कई इमारतों पर दशार्या गया।
हालांकि, इस आयोजन में सऊदी अरब, बहरीन, संयुक्त अरब अमीरात और मिस्र शामिल नहीं थे क्योंकि इन सभी देशों ने 2017 में कतर के साथ राजनयिक संबंधों को समाप्त कर दिए थे और गैस-समृद्ध राष्ट्र के साथ व्यापार एवं परिवहन का भी बहिष्कार किया।
