Two-day governor's conference begins in Rashtrapati Bhavan
●        With the inaugural address of President Shri Ramnath Kovind, the two-day Governor and Deputy Governor's Conference began in Rashtrapati Bhawan today.
●        This is the 49th conference to be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan and the second conference under the chairmanship of President Shri Kovind.
 
 
Government launches 'Janaushadhi facility'

●        Union Chemicals and Fertilizers, Road Transport and Highways, Minister of State for Shipping, Mr. Mansukh L. Mandaviya today launched the Environment friendly sanitary napkin 'PDS' under the Prime Minister of India's JNP project.
●        Now the economical sanitary napkins will be available at more than 3600 POPs of 33 States / Union Territories across the country.


Commerce Minister participated in the informal conference of WTO in Paris
●        Shri Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Commerce & Industry, attended the informal conference of the Ministers of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Paris on May 31, 2018.
●        28 members of the WTO and the Director General of WTO participated in this informal conference.

Compensation for the loss of animals was increased due to the cross-border firefight in Jammu and Kashmir
●        The Indian government has increased the compensation amount to the livestock animals due to the crossfire in Jammu and Kashmir by raising the compensation amount to Rs 50,000 per milch cattle.
●        People from border areas of Jammu and Kashmir are facing heavy losses in the form of livestock, crops, houses etc. due to border cross-border firing.
 

MSME and AYUSH Ministries signed MOU for the development of AYUSH enterprises
●        MSME Ministry and AYUSH Ministry today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of AYUSH and MSME Ministers in New Delhi.
●        This MOU will ensure harmony between the institutions and schemes of both the Ministries for the development of AYUSH enterprises in the country.
●        The purpose of this partnership is to establish India as a global leader in 'holistic health care'.

●        The Ministry of Women and Child Development has proposed amendment in the Women's Vulgar Formulation (Prohibition) Act (IRWA) 1986, in view of technological progress in the field of communication media like social media.
●        In the definition of advertisement, advertisements will be included through digital format or electronic format or billboards or SMS, MMS etc.
 
 
India among the top 5 countries producing e-waste
 
●        Despite emphasis on the government's clean India campaign and the smart city project, India remains in the top five countries producing e-waste.
●        This has been revealed in a recent study by Assocham-Neck.
●        According to the study released on Monday, countries such as China, America, Japan and Germany remain at the top of the list of e-waste countries.
 


Hyderabad's Greenco is going to buy Orange Renewable’s Solar and Wind Energy 
●        Greenco, who has invested in Singapore's GIC and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, can announce his biggest acquisition so far.
●        He is going to buy a solar and wind portfolio of Orange Renewables at an enterprise value of approximately $ 1 billion.
●        After takeover, Greenco and Renew will be in line with each other with a total operating capacities of 4.3 GW (4,300 MW).

First Consignment of LNG to India from Russia

●        After the US, India has also been getting LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) from Russia .
●        India is the fourth largest consumer of liquid natural gas in the world and is expanding its import source.
●        Taking the LNG from Russian company Gazprom, its vessel reached Petronet LNG gas import terminal on Monday morning.

●        Egyptian President Abdul Fatah al-Sisi took oath on 2 June 2018 as the President for a second term of four years.
●        Abdul Fatah al-Sisi has taken oath of Presidential office at a time when the country is facing economic and security challenges.

●        The Finance Ministry has tweeted this decision.
●        Financial Services Department Secretary Rajiv Kumar tweeted that Mahesh Kumar Jain has been appointed as the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank for three years.

IIT Delhi's former student Rajiv Mishra in the race to become Softbank CEO


●        Softbank Group Corp has appointed Vision Fund CEO Rajiv Mishra as Executive Director.
●        With this promotion, the founder and CEO of the company, Masayoshi Sun has become his replacement in the claimants who replace him.
●        Mishra was made CEO of Vision Fund of $ 93 billion in 2016.

India successfully tested 'Agni-5' missile
 
●        India successfully tested the long distance ballistic missile Agni-5, capable of carrying nuclear weapons and indigenously developed on June 03, 2018.
●        This missile was launched with the help of a mobile launcher from the launch pad-4 of the Integrated Test Range (ITR) on the Dr Abdul Kalam Island in the Bay of Bengal.
●        This was the sixth test of Agni-5 and it was completely successful.

Center launches new scheme 'Service Bhoj Scheme'
 
●        Central Culture Ministry has started a new scheme called 'Service Bhoj Scheme' for the financial year 2018-19 and 2019-20 with a total cost of Rs 325 crore.
●        On the basis of the recommendations of the committee, the competent authority in the Ministry will register the charitable religious institutions to return CGST and IGST's Central Government part to the special material mentioned above.
