New project approved to control river pollution
 
●    The Central Government approved the new project to control pollution of the year in Navalin city of Goa.
●    This project was approved by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change under the National River Conservation Scheme and its cost would be Rs. 61.74 crore.
●    Both the central government and the state government will share the cost based on the ratio of 60:40.
●    Under this project, a sewer of approximately 32 km will be added and 3 million liters per day (MLD) sewage treatment plant will be constructed.
●    This project is scheduled to be completed by January, 2021.

BSNL will shut down free Sunday calling on landline
 
●    Government Telecom Company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has decided to end Sunday free voice calling on landline from 1st February.
●    The company has taken this decision immediately after the change in the free night calling facility.
 

Pramila Jayapal joined the Politico Power List
 
 
●    Politico has included American woman MP Pramila Jaipal of Indian origin in the first Power List of 2018 .
●    He has been given this place to lead the opposition in the House.
●    In the list of 18 people, the 52-year-old Jaipal has been ranked fifth in Power List.
●    She is the first American woman of Indian origin whose name is included in the Politico Power List.

Indian child achieves highest marks in Mensa IQ Test

Google will plant 150 hotspots for free Wi-Fi
 
●    After bringing millions of Indians online through Railtel Wi-Fi project, Google said that in partnership with Larsen & Toubro, the company has installed 150 Google stations in Pune.
●    This development is part of the Smart City project of Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited and it is for the first time that the company is deploying Google station.
●    This is a local portal, which enables the public Wi-Fi connection.


NASA to launch Gold mission
 
●    The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, which is affiliated to American space programs,will launch Global Scale Observations of the Gender and Disk ( Gold Mission) on Thursday .
●    The aim of this mission is to try to understand the earth's outer space.
●    The American Space Agency said on Wednesday that it is NASA's first mission under which it will send some equipment commercially in space.
●    In this mission, SES-14 Commercial Communications satellite will be released.

NASA's missing satellite found
 
●    American Space Agency NASA said that its satellite, which was deemed inactive for decades, disappeared for decades, it is true and active.
●    NASA's Imager for Magnetopause-to-Aurora Global Exploration (Image) has identified this satellite found on January 20.
●    America's 'Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab' has successfully collected telemetry data from the satellite.
 
Scientists created food stuffs made of human feces
 
●    Scientists have developed a system to develop human feces in the form of potential food ingredients.
●    This will solve the problem of food for astronauts on Mars or other space missions.
●    Scientists use microbes to break the solid and liquid from human stool and claim to prepare food by removing the elements of protein and fat from it.

Tech Mahindra profits up 14% 
 
●    Medium-sized IT company Tech Mahindra's performance in December 2017 quarter was better than expected.
●    Due to cost reduction, the margins of the company have also been increased.
●    The company had a profit of $ 14.7 million in the December quarter, which is 13.8% more than the September quarter.
