Inauguration of newly built temporary residence for lawmakers in Western Court Annexe


●        Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the newly constructed temporary residence for MPs in Western Court Annexe in New Delhi.
●        This building will provide temporary residence for MPs.
●        On this occasion, the Prime Minister appreciated the efforts made by Lok Sabha Speaker Mrs. Sumitra Mahajan in fulfilling the project.
 
Cabinet clears cuts in Indian Competitiveness Commission


●        Union Cabinet does not fill the existing two vacancies and an additional vacancy in the Indian Competitiveness Commission (CCI) by reducing its size from one president and six members (total seven) to one president and three members (four ) Have approved.
●        One place is expected to be vacant in September, 2018, when the term of a current officer will be completed.
●        With this proposal, the members of the Commission will be reduced in three terms, which fulfills the government's aim of maximum government-maximum rule.
 
Approval of closure of Central Public Establishment Burn Standard Company Limited
 
●        Union Cabinet has approved the closure of the Public Enterprises Burn Standard Company Limited (BSCL) under the Ministry of Railways.
●        This decision has been taken in the company of continuous falling physical and financial performance over the last 10 years and due to low probability of future resurgence.
●        This will save the public money being used for losses in BSCL and it will be used for other development works.

Approval of TCL to eliminate the merger of additional land to HPIL


●       Union Cabinet has approved the administrative control of the Public Works Department of the Department of Telecommunications, Hemisphere Properties India (HPIL), to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
●        This sanction is given after giving security loan of Rs. 700 crores to the sanctioning company and Rs. 51 crores to the Government of India and the rest of the land is given after implementing the management plan for isolation.
 
Cabinet Approves Human Rights Protection (Amendment) Bill, 2018


●        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has given its approval to the Human Rights Protection (Amendment) Bill 2018 for better protection and promotion of human rights in the country.
●        In the bill, it is proposed to include the National Child Rights Protection Commission as an honorary member of the Commission.
●        Bill proposes to add a woman member to the Commission's formation.
●        Bill proposes to increase the eligibility and selection criteria for the position of President of the National Human Rights Commission and the State Human Rights Commission.
 
National Social Assistance Program (NSAP) Performance


●        Under the National Social Assistance Program, the government is committed to direct transfer of more than 30 million elderly, widows and divisor beneficiaries of the families below the poverty line.
●        Under the National Social Assistance Program, cash transfers to families facing the shortages are an important part of overall social security, including food security and health insurance.
 
India is the second largest crude steel producer
 
●        India has reached second place after China in crude steel production in February.
●        This information was given by the Steel Users Federation of India (Sufi) on behalf of the World Steel Association.
●        Behind Japan, India has become the world's second largest crude steel producer.
●        China's share of total global production is more than 50 percent.
 
 Setting up a high level committee to examine the examination system of 10th and 12th
 
●        On 04th April 2018, the Human Resource Development Ministry has constituted an empowered committee to look into the entire system of examining class X and XII classes by CBSE with the aim of preventing paper leak cases.
●        This committee was formed with the aim of preventing cases of paper leaks.
●        The committee has to ensure that the examination system can reach the examined lecturer without question paper.
 
 New species of plants were discovered on Western Ghats
 
●        A team of researchers has recently discovered a species plant called 'Fembristis' Agesthemensis'.
●        This plant has been discovered from Agasthyamalai Bioreserve of Western Ghats.
●        About this research, information was published in the Botanical Journal of Faytotexa in the April 2018 issue.

UP cabinet orders against arbitrary fee recovery


●        The Uttar Pradesh government issued an order against the arbitrary fee collection in private school on 03 April 2018.
●        In which operators must adhere to many rules. In violation of the school's cancellation, legal action will also be taken.
●        In the meeting of the Cabinet, proposals of rules on arbitrary fees were introduced in private schools, which have been passed.
 

Center launches digital initiative for ease of export
 
●        Union Commerce and Industry and Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu launched the Digital Initiative of Export Inspection Council (EIC) in New Delhi on April 03, 2018 for ease of export.
●        It is expected that due to these digital initiatives, India's capacity will be greatly increased in the export sector of agriculture and food products.
●        EIC is the official export certification body of the Government of India and it has launched this major project of Digital India initiative in line with the changing dimensions of the world.

India and Iran sanctioned memorandum of understanding to set up an expert group on trade reform measures


●        Union Cabinet has approved the Memorandum of Understanding between India and Iran to set up an expert group on trade reform measures to promote cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
●        The signing of the MoU was signed during the visit of Iranian President to India on February 17, 2018.
 
Acceptance of cooperation between India and Afghanistan for cooperation in food security and related areas


●        Union Cabinet has approved the signing of the Ministry of Food Safety and Standards Authority (FSSAI) of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture, Culture and Livestock for the Ministry of Food and related sectors for food security and related areas.
●        The areas of cooperation include the following:
●        Making arrangements for information and communication exchanges.
●        Assistance in Technical Exchange on Marked Topics of Interest, especially Import Processes, Quality Control Operations, Sampling, Investigation, Packaging and Labeling.
●        Organize joint seminars, workshops, visits, lectures and training programs etc.

Turkey started construction of first nuclear plant
 
●        Turkish President Rajab Tayeb Erdogan started construction work on the first nuclear plant of Turkey on April 3, 2018 with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
●        It will be known as the Aquaculture Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) which is present in the province of Mersin.
●        This launch program was addressed by the President of the two countries by video conferencing.
●        The total cost of this energy plant is estimated to be $ 20 billion.
 

Russia tests 'Sarmat' missile
 
●        The Russian army has successfully tested the intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) 'Sarmat'.
●        The 'Sarmat' missile was launched from Northwestern Russia's Plesetsk Cosmodrome (launch center).
●        The 'Sarmat' missile will replace 'Voivoda' designed in the Soviet era.
●        In a statement issued to President Vladimir Putin, it said that the weight of 'Saramat' is 200 metric tons and it can kill more than 'Voyvoda'.
●        'Saramat' can fly north or south pole in any corner of the world and can distinguish its goal from anywhere in the world.

●        This star is so far away that its light took nine billion years to reach the Earth.
●        This star will appear very blurred even from the world's largest telescope.
