Suresh Prabhu launched Digital Initiative for ease of export


●        Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Shri Suresh Prabhu today launched Digital Initiatives of Export Inspection Council (EIC) in New Delhi for ease of export.
●        On this occasion, the Minister said that due to these digital initiatives, India's capacity will be greatly increased in the export sector of agriculture and food products.
●        EIC is the official export certification body of the Government of India and it has launched this major project of Digital India initiative in line with the changing dimensions of the world.
 
 
MoU between Indian Army and HDFC Bank
●        A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Indian Army and HDFC Bank on April 3, 2018, on the subject of the Defense Pay package subject.
●        The first MoU was signed between the Indian Army and HDFC in 2011 and this MoU was renewed on March 13, 2015.
●        The present consent letter has been prepared keeping in mind the needs of military personnel, pensioners and families.
●        The signature program was presided over by Chief Director (MP & PS) Lieutenant General S.K. K. Saini's
 
16 APAs signed by CBDT in March 2018


●        The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) signed 14 bilateral advance pricing agreements and 2 bilateral advance pricing agreements (BAPA) during March 2018.
●        2 bilateral APAs have been done with the United States.
●        With the signing of these advance pricing agreements (APAs), the total number of APA made by CBDT has increased to 219.
●        It includes 199 unilateral APAs and 20 bilateral APAs.
●        Overall 67 APAs (9 bilateral and 58 unilateral) have been signed during the financial year 2017-18.

Lack of foodgrains in India due to climate change


●        Changes in weather due to climate change have increased the risk of food shortage in many countries of the world including India.
●        This has been revealed in a study published in the journal Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A.
●        According to the study, 122 developing countries of Asia, Africa and South America have been considered.
●        UK researchers at the University of Ecuador have found out how climate change can further increase the risk of food insecurity in different countries.
 

Central government withdraw guidelines issued on Fake News


●        The Central Government has withdrawn the Guidelines issued on 3 April 2018 on Fake News.
●        According to the guidelines, on 02 April 2018, if a journalist is found to be making false reports or misbehaving, then his validity can be canceled permanently.
●        According to the revised guidelines for the recognition of journalists, if the publication or broadcast of fake news is confirmed, the journalist's recognition will be suspended for six months for the first time, and for the second time, Will be suspended for
●        The recognition of journalist will be canceled permanently for the third time in violation.
 
 
Jio Payment Bank started work
 
●      Jio Payment Bank started its banking business from Wednesday.
●        Reserve Bank of India gave this information
●       Reliance Industries is among the 11 applicants who got the formal approval for setting up of payment bank in August 2015.
●        It has been said in the notification of the Reserve Bank that the Jio Payment Bank has started operating as a Payment Bank from April 3, 2018.
 

UIDAI introduces virtual ID
 
●        The Unique Identification Authority of India started the beta version of Virtual ID on Tuesday and informed that soon service providers will start accepting it instead of Aadhaar number.
●        Base users can now create their own virtual IDs and can use it to update address.
●        The Unique Identification Authority of India had announced this year virtual ID among the privacy concerns.
 

Amazon started out in India
 
●        America's legendary e-commerce company Amazon has started retiring employees in India.

'NIRF India Rankings 2018' released for higher educational institutions
 
●        Central Human Resource Development Minister, Shri Prakash Javadekar released NIRF India Rankings 2018 in different categories on the basis of the performance of higher educational institutions during a program held in New Delhi today.
●        Dr. Satyapal Singh, Minister of State for Human Resource Development released a report on NIRF ranking during the program and gave away prizes to 69 top institutes in 9 categories.

National Highways Build Up 20 Percent Increase


●        Shri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shipping, Water Resources, River Development and Ganga has said that during the year 2017-18, more than 9829 Kms long National Highways were constructed.
●        It shows an increase of 20 percent compared to the 8231-km long national highways built during the previous year.
●        During the financial year 2017-18, contracts of 17055 kms of roads were given, whereas last year 15 948 kms of roads were given contracts.
 
India can achieve the potential of Silicon Valley in 5 years: World Bank
 
●        World Bank's India Head Junaid Kamal Ahmed has said that India can repeat the success of Silicon Valley in 5 years.
●        He said on Tuesday on the issue of the World Bank report on invocation, "India has the capability to establish Silicon Valley in its own right but there is a need to expand the environment of the environment in the environment."
●        He said that for this, India has to extend the ecosystem for the invention because it is moving towards becoming a middle income group.
 
Banks have to fund themselves in case of loan failure

Roger Federer overtook Rafael Nadal on top
 
●        Spain's veteran tennis player Rafael Nadal has taken the first place in the Tennis Professional Association Rankings (ATP) rankings issued on Monday, pushing Roger Federer of Switzerland.
●        Federer had to face the brunt of losing 6-3, 3-6, 6-7 in the Miami Open round-of-64 in the hands of Thassi Kokkinakis of Australia.
●        America's John Ishner, who won the title of Miami Open, has jumped 8 places and now he has moved to ninth place.
