NITI Aayog Launches Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC)–Transport Initiative for Asia (TIA) India Component
• NITI Aayog virtually launched the India Component of the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC)–Transport Initiative for Asia (TIA) on 27 August 2020.
• The NDC–TIA is a joint programme supported by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) to promote a comprehensive approach to decarbonize transport in India, Vietnam, and China.
Piyush Goyal Attends 8th East Asia Summit (Economic Ministers’ Meeting)
• 8th East Asia Summit Economic Ministers’ Meeting (EAS-EMM) was held virtually which was attended by Economic Ministers from the ten ASEAN Member States, Australia, China, India, Japan, Republic of Korea, New Zealand, the Russian Federation and the United States.
• The Meeting was chaired by Tran Tuan Anh, Minister of Industry and Trade of Viet Nam. From Indian side it was attended by Piyush Goyal, Minister of Railways and Minister of Commerce and Industry.
• During the meet discussions were held to accelerate economic growth, maintain supply chains and market stability, and strengthen the economic resilience of the EAS region post C-19.
CISF launches Pension Corner mobile app
• The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has introduced the Pension Corner mobile app. the Pension Corner app will help to fulfil the needs of all its retired personnel.
• The app has been made as part of an e-office initiative and has been introduced in the wake of the C-19 disease.

Reliance Retail to acquire Future Group's retail, wholesale businesses for Rs 24,713 crore
• Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL) announced on August 29, 200 that it is acquiring the retail, wholesale business, logistics and warehouse business of Future Group for Rs 24,713 crore.
• The announcement has come amid ongoing concerns on a slump sale basis for lumpsum aggregate consideration. Reliance Retail will be buying the businesses from the Future Group for Rs 24,713 crore, subject to adjustments as set out in the composite scheme of arrangement.
• The acquisition is a part of Future Group's decision of merging certain companies and carrying on the businesses into Future Enterprises Limited (FEL). Reliance Retail Ventures Limited is a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited.
• Under the new acquisition agreement, Reliance Retail and Fashion Lifestyle Limited will be taking over the retail and wholesale undertaking of Future Group.

‘Black Panther’ star Chadwick Boseman passes away at 43
• American actor Chadwick Boseman, who became a global icon for his role as Black Panther in the hit Marvel superhero franchise, has passed away after battling cancer since past four years from 2016.He was 43.
• Chadwick made his Marvel superhero debut as T’Challa/Black Panther in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, after which he became a household name.
• He made his big-screen debut in 2008 in the biopic The Express: The Ernie Davis Story where he played Floyd Little.
‘Scooby Doo’ Co-Creator Joe Ruby Passes Away at 87
• Joe Ruby, the co-creator of the cartoon series Scooby-Doo, has passed away due to natural cause. He was 87.
• Ruby, an American animator, television editor, writer, and producer, created the much-loved characters of beloved kids show Scooby-Doo, along with his creative partner Ken Spears.
• Together, the pair started their own production company Hanna-Barbera Productions and created other memorable cartoons as well.

India’s first: Joint champions in chess Olympiad
• India and Russia have been jointly annouced the winner of first-ever FIDE Online Chess Olympiad 2020. This was the first time FIDE was holding the Olympiad in an online format.
• India were initially declared to have lost the final round against Russia. Two Indian players (Nihal Sarin and Divya Deshmukh) were declared to have lost on time in the final round after an apparent loss of internet connection for them.
• After this, FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich had made a decision to give gold medals of to both teams.
Lewis Hamilton wins F1 Belgian Grand Prix 2020
• Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes-Great Britain) has won the Formula One Belgian Grand Prix 2020 held on August 30, 2020. This was his 5th win of the season.
• Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes-Finland) came second followed by Max Verstappen (Red Bull – Netherlands) at third place.

Banks Board Bureau recommends Dinesh Kumar Khara as next SBI chairman
• The Banks Board Bureau (BBB) recommended SBI’s senior-most managing director Dinesh Kumar Khara as the next chairman of the country’s largest lender.
• Khara will replace SBI Chairman Rajnish Kumar, whose three-year term comes to an end on October 7.

Amul (16th) becomes first Indian dairy company to be in Rabobank’s Global Top 20 list; Top- Nestle
• Amul, Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) has been ranked 16th in the Rabobank’s Global Top 20 Dairy Companies list. Amul has achieved an annual turnover of $5.5 billion.
• Switzerland’s Nestle topped the list with a turnover of US $22.1 billion. Amul is the first Indian company to enter the top 20 ranking of Rabobank’s Global Top 20 Dairy Companies list.

नीति आयोग ने राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर निर्धारित योगदान (NDC)- एशिया के लिये परिवहन पहल (TIA) के भारत घटक को लॉन्च किया
• राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर निर्धारित योगदान - एशिया के लिये परिवहन पहल (NDC- TIA) का उद्देश्य भारत, वियतनाम और चीन में गैर कार्बनीकृत परिवहन को प्रोत्साहन देने हेतु एक व्यापक दृष्टिकोण को बढ़ावा देना है।
• इस कार्यक्रम की अवधि 4 वर्ष की है और यह कार्यक्रम विभिन्न हितधारकों के साथ समन्वय कर तमाम तरह के हस्तक्षेपों के माध्यम से भारत तथा अन्य भागीदार देशों को अपने दीर्घकालीन लक्ष्य प्राप्त करने में मदद करेगा।
• भारत में विश्व का दूसरा सबसे बड़ा रोड नेटवर्क मौजूद है जो परिवहन के सभी माध्यमों द्वारा अधिकतम ग्रीनहाउस गैस (GHG) उत्सर्जन करता है।
• तेज़ी से हो रहे शहरीकरण के चलते वाहनों की बिक्री भी तेज़ी से बढ़ रही है और वर्ष 2030 तक कुल वाहनों की संख्या में दोगुनी वृद्धि होने की संभावना है।
पूर्वी एशिया शिखर सम्मेलन का 8वां आर्थिक और व्यापारिक मंत्री सम्मेलन 28 अगस्त को वीडियो के माध्यम से आयोजित हुआ
• 8 वीं पूर्व एशिया शिखर सम्मेलन के आर्थिक मंत्रियों की बैठक (ईएएस-ईएमएम) वस्तुतः आयोजित की गई थी जिसमें दस आसियान सदस्य राज्यों, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, चीन, भारत, जापान, कोरिया गणराज्य, न्यूजीलैंड, रूसी संघ और अमेरिका के आर्थिक मंत्रियों ने भाग लिया था संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका।
• बैठक की अध्यक्षता उद्योग और व्यापार वियतनाम के मंत्री त्रान तुआन अन्ह ने की। भारतीय पक्ष से, इसने पीयूष गोयल, रेल मंत्री और वाणिज्य और उद्योग मंत्री ने भाग लिया।
• बैठक के दौरान आर्थिक विकास में तेजी लाने, आपूर्ति श्रृंखला और बाजार स्थिरता को बनाए रखने और ईएएस क्षेत्र पोस्ट सी -19 के आर्थिक लचीलापन को मजबूत करने के लिए विचार-विमर्श किया गया।
सीआईएसएफ ने पेंशनभोगियों के लिए लॉन्च किया एप, वेब और एंड्रायड प्लेटफार्म पर होगा उपलब्ध
• केंद्रीय औद्योगिक सुरक्षा बल (सीआईएसएफ) ने अपने सेवानिवृत्त कर्मियों को पेंशन देने के लिए एक एप लॉन्च किया है। सीआईएसएफ के प्रवक्ता ने कहा, यह एप वेब और एंड्रायड प्लेटफार्म पर उपलब्ध रहेगा।इसमें पेंशनभोगियों को अपने डाटा तक पहुंच की सुविधा मिलेगी।
• इस एप में पेंशनभोगियों को नजदीकी सीआईएसएफ इकाई में होने वाले महत्वपूर्ण कार्यक्रमों का निमंत्रण भी भेजा जाएगा। उन्होंने कहा कि बल में फिलहाल 36,000 पेंशनभोगी हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि ऐपल फोन के लिये इसका आईओएस वर्जन जल्द ही तैयार किया जाएगा।

Reliance Retail ने 24,713 करोड़ रुपये में खरीदे फ्यूचर ग्रुप के प्रमुख कारोबार
• रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रीज लिमिटेट (RIL) की सब्सिडियरी कंपनी रिलायंस रिटेल वेंचर्स लिमिटेड (RRVL) ने घोषणा की है कि वह फ्यूचर ग्रुप के खुदरा व थोक कारोबारों तथा रसद और भण्डारण कारोबारों का अधिग्रहण कर रही है। आरआरवीएल यह अधिग्रहण 24,713 करोड़ रुपये में कर रही है।
• इस डील से फ्यूचर ग्रुप के खुदरा और थोक उपक्रम को रिलायंस रिटेल में स्थानांतरित कर दिया जाएगा, जबकि फैशन लाइफस्टाइल और लॉजिस्टिक्स व वेयरहाउसिंग उपक्रम को रिलायंस रिटेल वेंचर्स (आरआरवीएल) में स्थानांतरित कर दिया जाएगा।
• अरबपति किशोर बियानी के स्वामित्व वाले फ्यूचर ग्रुप में सुपरमार्केट चेन बिग बाजार, अपमार्केट फूड स्टोर्स फूडहॉल और क्लोथिंग चेन ब्रांड फैक्ट्री शामिल है।
• रिलायंस रिटेल वेंचर्स रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रीज समूह का हिस्सा है। रिलांयस इंडस्ट्रीज अपने मार्च 2021 के लक्ष्य से कई महीने पहले जून 2020 में ही कर्ज मुक्त हो गई थी।

• चार साल से कोलोन कैंसर से जूझ रहे ब्लैक पैंथर अभिनेता, चैडविक बॉसमैन का निधन हो गया। उनका जन्म और परवरिश दक्षिण कैरोलिना के एंडरसन में हुआ और उन्होंने 2003 में टीवी सीरीज "ऑल माय चिल्ड्रन" से अभिनय की शुरुआत की थी। उन्होंने 2008 में बायोपिक द एक्सप्रेस: द एर्नी डेविस स्टोरी से बड़े पर्दे पर अपनी शुरुआत की, जहां उन्होंने फ्लॉयड लिटिल की भूमिका निभाई थी। उन्होंने Marvel cinematic universe में प्रसिद्ध ब्लैक पैंथर की भूमिका निभाई थी।

• कार्टून श्रृंखला स्कूबी-डू के सह-निर्माता जो रूबी का प्राकृतिक कारण से निधन हो गया है। वह 87 वर्ष के थे।
• एक अमेरिकी एनिमेटर, टेलीविज़न एडिटर, लेखक और निर्माता रूबी ने अपने रचनात्मक साथी केन स्पीयर्स के साथ प्यारे बच्चों के शो के बहुत ही चहेते पात्रों का निर्माण किया था।
• इस जोड़ी ने अपनी खुद की प्रोडक्शन कंपनी हैना-बारबरा प्रोडक्शंस शुरू की और साथ ही साथ अन्य यादगार कार्टून भी बनाए।

चेस ओलिंपियाड: भारत ने रचा इतिहास, पहली बार बना चैंपियन
• भारतीय टीम को रूस के साथ संयुक्त तौर पर चेस ओलिंपियाड चैंपियन घोषित किया गया।
• भारत ने पहली बार जीता चेस ओलिंपियाड, इस बार ऑनलाइन आयोजित किया गया टूर्नामेंट।
• फाइनल में दूसरे राउंड में भारत के निहाल सरीन और दिव्या देशमुख का इंटरनेट कनेक्शन चला गया था।
• भारत ने आधिकारिक अपील की, जिसके बाद FIDE अध्यक्ष ने दोनों टीमों को संयुक्त चैंपियन घोषित किया।
• भारतीय टीम ने पहली बार फिडे ऑनलाइन चेस ओलिंपियाड जीतकर इतिहास रच दिया। हालांकि उसे रूस के साथ संयुक्त तौर पर चैंपियन करार दिया गया है।

• वाल्टेरी बोटास (मर्सिडीज-फ़िनलैंड) तीसरे स्थान पर मैक्स वेरस्टापेन (रेड बुल - नीदरलैंड) के बाद दूसरे स्थान पर रहे।

बैंक बोर्ड ब्यूरो ने अगले एसबीआई अध्यक्ष के रूप में दिनेश कुमार खरे की सिफारिश की
• बैंक बोर्ड ब्यूरो (BBB) ने SBI के वरिष्ठतम प्रबंध निदेशक दिनेश कुमार खरा को देश के सबसे बड़े ऋणदाता के अगले अध्यक्ष के रूप में सिफारिश की।
• खारा एसबीआई के अध्यक्ष रजनीश कुमार की जगह लेंगे, जिनका तीन साल का कार्यकाल 7 अक्टूबर को समाप्त हो रहा है।

Rabobank List: अमूल, टॉप 20 ग्लोबल डेयरी कंपनियों की लिस्ट में हुई शामिल
• भारतीय डेयरी ब्रांड अमूल ने बड़ी उपलब्धि हासिल की है। अमूल ऐसी पहली भारतीय कंपनी बन गई है जो टॉप 20 डेयरी ग्लोबल कंपनियों की लिस्ट में शामिल हुई है। अमूल ऐसा करने वाली पहली भारतीय कंपनी है। टॉप 20 की लिस्ट में अमूल 16वें नंबर पर है। यह लिस्ट Rabobank द्वारा जारी की गई है।
• अमूल गुजरात कोआपरेटिव मिल्क मार्केटिंग फेडरेशन (GCMMF) की डेयरी ब्रांड है। इसे डच फाइनेंशियल सर्विसेज कंपनी के ग्लोबल टॉप 20 डेयरी कंपनियों की लिस्ट में 16वां स्थान मिला है। GCMMF का सालाना टर्नओवर 550 करोड़ डॉलर के बराबर है। बता दें कि सबसे बड़ा दूध उत्पादक देश होने के बाद भी अबतक कोई भी भारत की डेयरी कंपनी इस लिस्ट में शामिल नहीं हुई थी।
