Tourism Minister inaugurates Jodhpur Hospitality Management Institute
●        Union Minister of State for Tourism K J Alphons inaugurated the Institute of Hospitality Management, Jodhpur today.
●        India is one of the fastest growing tourism economies in the world and in 2017, Indian tourism sector has recorded an increase of 20.8 percent over the 7 percent global growth rate.
 
Victorian Gothic and Art Deco Enables of Mumbai were declared World Heritage Sites
●        As another historic achievement, India's 'Victorian Gothic and Art Deco Enables' of Mumbai was listed on UNESCO World Heritage Sites list.
●        This decision was taken in the 42nd session of UNESCO World Heritage Committee in Bahrain Manama.
●        India accepted the new name of Inseb 'Victorian Gothic and Art Deco Enables of Mumbai'.
●        This has become the second city in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, after Mumbai City, Ahmedabad.

S. Ramesh took charge as Central Indirect Tax and Customs Board Chairman
●        S. Ramesh, while retiring Mrs. Vanaja N Sarna, today took charge as the Central Insider Tax and Chairman of the Seema Kar Board. He was a member of the board before his promotion.
●        S. Ramesh started his career as central excise duty in Mumbai and later as assistant commissioner of Mumbai Customs.
●        He has worked in different positions at places like Hyderabad, Nagpur, Chennai, Trichy.
●        He was Chief Commissioner of Customs Zone from Chennai from 2013 to 2016.

Tata Steel will build Europe's second largest venture with Thysnruprup
 
●        A joint venture with Tata Steel and German company Thyssenkrupp AG has agreed.
●        Tata Steel said that it has agreed to establish a joint joint venture with ThyssenCrup with a 50: 50 percent stake.
●        Along with this , the way to become the second largest steel company after Lakshmi Nivas Mittal's ArcelorMittal has opened in Europe .
●        The new steel company will have a total of 48,000 employees and will produce about 21 million tonnes of steel annually.
 
Reliance will acquire US Radisson for 5G services
 
●        Reliance Industries has entered into an agreement for the acquisition of US telecommunications solutions company Radisson.
●        Its purpose is to prepare Geo for future features such as 5G and Internet of Things.
●        This deal of the company will be completely cash.
●        The deal is likely to be worth about $ 7.4 million.


Satya Sharmila became India's first transgender lawyer
 
●        In society, the people of the right transgender community have started getting recognition gradually .
●        In the same sequence, a name was filed in Tamilnadu and Puducherry Bar Council on Saturday, which gave India the first transgender lawyer.

Olympics champion runner Ohuruogu retired
 
●        Britain's female runner-up Kristen Ohrougou, who won gold at the Beijing Olympics, retired from athletics at the age of 34 on Saturday.
●        Ohrougou won gold medal in women's 400 meter race in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
●        A year later, he did his title in the world championship in Osaka.
●        Ohrougou was able to retain the silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics and the world title in 2013.
 
AITA agrees to play Bopanna and Sharan together in Asian Games
 
●        The All India Tennis Association has agreed to launch the duo on the request of Star Player Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan as pair in the Asian Games, from which experienced Leander Paes will have to pair with Young Sumit Nagal.
●        Bopanna and Sharan had urged the AITA and Sports Ministry to have their pair formed.
 
 
800 meters race: Kerala's Johnson broke the 42-year-old National Record
 
●        Gibson Johnson of Kerala performed brilliantly in the men's 800-meter race, breaking the 42-year-old national record of Shriram Singh .
●        On the second day of the 58th National Interstate Senior Athletics Championship, the 27-year-old player won gold with 1 minute 45.65 seconds.
●        Earlier this record was named after Shri Ram Singh.
●        He made this record in the 1976 Olympic Games.
 
 
Malaysian Open: Kidambi Srikanth and PV Sindhu lose in semifinals
 
●        World number-7 Kidambi Srikanth and World number-3 PV Sindhu have lost in the semi-finals in men in the Malaysian Open.
●        World number-1 and current champion Tae Young of badminton player Tai Juying entered the final by defeating PV Sindhu of India.

●        Sarjubala defeated former Bronze Medalist Pinky Jangra of Commonwealth Games
