Late fee waived for all tax-payers who could not file the GSTR 3B for the month of July 2017
The Goods and Services Tax (GST) tax was introduced on 1st of July 2017.
● The last date for payment of GST for the month of July 2017 was 25th August 2017.
● Payment of GST is complete only when amount of tax payable is debited from electronic cash / credit ledger.
● Now late fee for all taxpayers who could not file GSTR 3B for the month of July 2017 has been waived, but not the interest on late payment of Tax liability.
● GSTR 1 is to be filed by all taxpayers by 5th of September 2017 and GSTR 2 and GSTR 3 to be filed by all taxpayers by 10th and 15th of September 2017 respectively.
● Taxpayers who have committed errors in GSTR 3B will be able to put the correct details in GSTR 1-2-3.
● However, interest will be leviable from all taxpayers who have not discharged their complete Tax liability for July 2017 by 25-08-2017.
Swachhta Pakhwada Celebration at Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology
Swachhta Pakhwada was observed in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) from 1st to 15th August, 2017 with great enthusiasm and active participation of the officers/staff members of MeitY and its offices.
● Day-wise Action plan was prepared for implementation which consisted of both motivational and physical activities.
● Shri P.P. Chaudhary, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology and Law and Justice, administered a pledge to all the officers and staff on 01.08.2017 and delivered an inaugural message highlighting the importance of cleanliness in our day to day functioning and urged all to maintain a clean/green environment to realize the Swachh Bharat vision of our Prime Minister.
● As part of Government of India’s initiative for giving a fillip to renewable energy programme, Shri Chaudhary also inaugurated the 200 KW Rooftop Solar Power Plant, recently installed in the Electronics Niketan building of MeitY.
Sanjaya Baru Takes Over As Secretary General Of FICCI
Dr. Sanjaya Baru on Friday took over as the new Secretary General of the apex industry body Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
● Dr. Baru brings with him rich experience of political and economic analyses, having been Editor of India's major financial newspapers, The Economic Times, Financial Express and Business Standard.
● Earlier, Dr. Baru was associated as a professor of Economics at University of Hyderabad, Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (Delhi) and Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (Singapore).

He has been Media Advisor to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh (2004-08) and Director for Geo-economics and Strategy, International Institute of Strategic Studies, London (2011-16).

Infosys seeks shareholder nod to appoint Pravin Rao as Managing Director
India’s second-largest software services firm Infosys has sought shareholder approval to the appointment of U.B. Pravin Rao as its Managing Director.
● He will continue to hold the position of interim-CEO and MD for a maximum of five years, or until a new CEO and Managing Director(MD) is appointed, Infosys said in its postal ballot.
● Rao, who is the Chief Operating Officer at Infosys, had been named interim-CEO and MD on August 18, when the then chief Vishal Sikka had resigned against the backdrop of a spate of allegations hurled by co-founder N.R Narayana Murthy.
● “U.B. Pravin Rao will hold the position of Interim CEO and MD of the company for a term not exceeding five years or until a new CEO and MD is appointed or if his employment as Interim CEO and MD is terminated earlier by either party giving 90 days’ notice to the other party in this regard,” Infosys said.
Uranium mine gets India's underground dark matter laboratory
An underground dark matter laboratory for conducting experiments in fundamental physics involving rare event searches was today inaugurated in the oldest uranium mine at Jaduguda in Jharkhand.
● Dr Sekhar Basu, Chairman, Atomic Energy Commission and Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), inaugurated the facility at a depth of 555 metre in the Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) mine at Jadugoda, 30 km from here.
● Speaking to reporters later at Jadugora mine premises, Basu said, "We knew of an estimated five per cent of the possible 30 per cent matters existing in the universe and this new facility will help us to research about the unknown matters."
● The laboratory has been set up by the UCIL and Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP), Kolkata by utilizing the available infrastructure and underground facilities of the Jaduguda mine.
Kerala rolls out Rs 300 crore eTender for high tech schools
Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education, formerly IT@School Project of the state general education department, has rolled out an Information and Communication Technology eTender for state schools, at an estimated cost of Rs 300 crore.
● The eTender for 60,250 Laptops and 43,750 Multimedia Projectors was published in the state’s eTender portal (etenders.kerala.gov.in ) making it the largest of its kind in the southern state, according to an official release.
● KITE is the first SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle) to get funded from Kerala Infrastructure And Investment Fund Board (KIIFB ) established by the state government to support projects worth Rs 50000 crore in five years.
● The eTenders published by KITE is for the ICT equipment to be provided under ‘Hi-Tech School project’, said K Anvar Sadath, Vice Chairman and Executive Director, KITE.
● As many as 4775 government and government-aided schools, to be covered under this programme, include 2685 high schools, 1701 higher secondary schools and 389 vocational higher secondary schools.
● With the implementation of the programme, each classroom would be equipped with laptop, multimedia projector, whiteboard and sound system.
Australia keen to support India's smart cities program
A 35-member business delegation from Australia, which is on a visit to India, today said here that it is keen to build long-term partnerships with the state governments and the private sector companies here in various sectors, including infrastructure and water.
● The delegation, which was in the megapolis, held discussions with the officials of the state urban development department, Chief Secretary Sumit Mallick and private sector firms to explore business opportunities in Smart Cities project of Maharashtra.
● "We are here to build relationships with the state governments here as well as the private sector companies, which are involved in Smart Cities projects to explore the possibilities of Australian involvement and participation in various such projects," Australian Trade Commissioner Grayson Perry told reporters here today.
● He said the Australian companies, with their vast experience in sectors like infrastructure, smart cities, infrastructure, water and waste management among others, can assist Indian companies and the government in its various programs.
Gopal Singh is new CMD of Coal India
Gopal Singh, CMD, Central Coalfields Ltd, has been given additional charge as the CMD of Coal India Ltd (CIL) till the time a regular appointment is made for the post.
● Central Coalfields is one of the subsidiaries of the largest coal producer of the world.
● Singh succeeds Sutirtha Bhattacharya, who retired on Thursday.
● In a filing on the stock exchange, Coal India said Sutirtha Bhattacharya, CMD, CIL, on attaining superannuation has relinquished the charge of CMD with effect from 31 August 2017.
● The filing further said the ministry of coal, in its letter dated 1 September 2017, has entrusted the additional charge of CMD, CIL to Gopal Singh, with immediate effect and until a regular appointment is made. He has taken charge with effect from 1 September 2017, it added.
जुलाई 2017 के लिए ‘जीएसटीआर 3बी’ दाखिल न कर पाने वाले सभी करदाताओं के लिए विलंब शुल्क माफ किया गया
वस्तु एवं सेवा कर (जीएसटी) को 1 जुलाई, 2017 को लागू किया गया था। जुलाई 2017 के लिए जीएसटी के भुगतान की अंतिम तिथि 25 अगस्त, 2017 थी।
● जीएसटी का भुगतान केवल तभी पूरा हो पाता है जब देय कर की रकम को इलेक्ट्रॉनिक कैश/क्रेडिट लेजर (खाता-बही) से डेबिट (निकालना) कर लिया जाता है।
● अब उन सभी करदाताओं के लिए विलंब शुल्क को माफ कर दिया गया है जो जुलाई 2017 के लिए ‘जीएसटीआर 3बी’ दाखिल नहीं कर सके थे।
● हालांकि, कर देनदारी का देरी से भुगतान पर देय ब्याज को माफ नहीं किया गया है।
● सभी करदाताओं द्वारा ‘जीएसटीआर 1’ को 5 सितंबर 2017 तक और सभी करदाताओं द्वारा ‘जीएसटीआर 2’ एवं ‘जीएसटीआर 3’ को क्रमशः 10 और 15 सितंबर 2017 तक दाखिल करना अनिवार्य है।
● ‘जीएसटीआर 3बी’ में त्रुटियां करने वाले करदाता ‘जीएसटीआर 1-2-3’ में सही विवरण भर सकते हैं।
● हालांकि, उन सभी करदाताओं से ब्याज लिया जाएगा जिन्होंने जुलाई 2017 के लिए अपनी पूरी कर देनदारी का भुगतान 25 अगस्त 2017 तक नहीं किया है।
● इसके अलावा, ‘जीएसटीआर 3बी’ के साथ ‘जीएसटीआर 1-2’ के सिस्टम आधारित मिलान के लिए प्रक्रिया को स्पष्ट कर दिया गया है।

इलेक्ट्रोनिक्स एवं सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्रालय में स्वच्छ पखवाड़ा मनाया गया
इलेक्ट्रोनिक्स एवं सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्रालय में 1 से 15 अगस्त, 2017 तक स्वच्छता पखवाड़ा मनाया गया।
● मंत्रालय के अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों ने अति उत्साह और सक्रिय भागीदारी से इसमे हिस्सा लिया।
● इस आयोजन के लिए दिवस अनुसार कार्य योजना तैयार की गई और इस योजना को बेहतर ढंग से कार्यान्वित किया गया जो प्रेरणादायी रही।
● इलेक्ट्रोनिक्स व सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी एवं विधि व न्याय राज्य मंत्री श्री पी.पी. चौधरी ने सभी अधिकारियों और कर्मचारियों को 01 अगस्त, 2017 को शपथ दिलाई और हमारे नित्य प्रतिदिन के कार्यकलापों में स्वच्छता के महत्व को दर्शाते हुए संदेश दिया।

डॉ संजय बारू ने देश के प्रमुख वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंडल फिक्की के महासचिव का कार्यभार संभाल लिया है।

● विग्यप्ति के अनुसार डॉ बारू के पास राजनीतिक एवं आर्थकि विश्लेषण क्षेत्र में काम का काफी अनुभव है।
● वह 2004 से 2008 तक पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री मनमोहन सिंह के मीडिया सलाहकार रह चुके है।
● वह 1999 से 2001 के बीच भारतीय राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा सलाहकार बोर्ड के भी सदस्य रह चुके हैं।
● भारत-आसियान प्रमुख व्यक्ति समूह 2010 में वह रह चुके हैं।

प्रवीण राव को प्रबंध निदेशक नियुक्त करने के लिए इन्फोसिस ने शेयरधारों से मांगी मंजूरी
भारत की दूसरी सबसे बडी सॉफ्टवेयर सेवा उपलब्ध कराने वाली इन्फोसिस ने यू बी प्रवीण राव को कंपनी के मैनेजिंग डायरेक्टर के रुप में नियुक्त करने के प्रस्ताव पर शेयरधारकों की मंजूरी मांगी है।
● राव मूल रुप से कंपनी के सीईओ हैं। इन्फोसिस ने अपने शेयर धारकों को भेजे पत्र में कहा, 'राव कंपनी के अंतरिम मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (सीईओ) और प्रबंध निदेशक के पद पर अधिकतम 5 साल तक या फिर तब तक रहेंगे जब तक नए मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी और प्रबंध निदेशक की नियुक्ति नहीं होती है।'
● इन्फोसिस के पूर्व सीईओ विशाल सिक्का के इस्तीफा देने के बाद राव का नाम 18 अगस्त को कंपनी के अंतरिम सीईओ और प्रबंध निदेशक के रुप में सामने आया था।
● कंपनी के सह-संस्थापक नारायणमूर्ति की ओर से एक के बाद एक आरोपों के बाद सिक्का ने इन्फोसिस से इस्तीफा दे दिया था।

दुर्लभ खोजों के लिए यूरेनियम खदान में बनाई गई भूमिगत प्रयोगशाला का उद्घाटन
मौलिक भौतिक खोजों से जुड़े दुर्लभ प्रयोगों के लिए आज झाारखंड के जादुगुडा स्थित सबसे पुरानी यूरेनियम खदान में भूमिगत प्रयोगशाला का उद्घाटन किया गया।
● परमाणु उर्जा आयोग के अध्यक्ष तथा परमाणु उर्जा विभाग के सचिव डॉक्टर शेखर बसु ने यहां से 30 किलोमीटर दूर भारतीय यूरेनियम निगम लिमिटेढ यूसीआईएल की खान में 555 मीटर गहराई में बनाई गई प्रयोगशाला का उद्घाटन किया।
● पत्रकारों से बात करते हुए बसु ने कहा, ैहम ब्रमांड में मौजूद संभवत: 30 प्रतिशत तत्वों में अनुमानित 5 फीसदी के बारे में ही जानते हैं और यह नई सुविधा हमे इन्हीं अग्यात पदार्थों की खोज करने में मदद करेगी।
● उन्होंने कहा कि हमने इस काम को शुरू कर दिया है लेकिन इसका यह मतलब नहीं है कि हम इसमें सफल होंगे।
● हालांकि, हम वांछित परिणाम प्राप्त करने के लिए क्रमश: प्रगति कर रहे हैं।
● प्रयोगशाला की स्थापना भारतीय यूरोनियम निगम और साहा परमाणु भौतिकी संस्थान, कोलकाता के द्वारा की गई है।
● 1992 की शुरुआत में कोलार कर्नाटक में भारत स्वर्ण खान में इसी तरह की सुविधा को बंद करने के बाद भारतीय यूरोनियम निगम की यह नयी भौतिकी प्रयोगशाला देश में अपनी तरह की पहली लैब होगी।
केरल: स्कूलों को हाईटेक बनाने के लिए 300 करोड़ रुपये की ई-निविदा जारी
केरल सरकार के शिक्षा विभाग द्वारा संचालित केरल इंफ्रास्ट्रकचर एवं टेक्नोलॉजी फॉर एजुकेशन केआईटीई ने राजकीय स्कूलों में उच्च-स्तरीय प्रौद्योगिकी कार्यक्रम के लिए सूचना एवं संचार प्रौद्योगिकी ई- निविदा आमंत्रित की है।
● इसकी अनुमानित लागत 300 करोड़ रुपए है।
● राज्य सरकार की ई निविदा पोर्टल ईटेंडर्स डॉट केरल डॉट जीओवी डॉट इन पर प्रकाशित की गई है।
● आधिकारिक विग्यप्ति के मुताबिक 60,250 लैपटॉप और 43,750 मल्टीमीडिया प्रोजेक्टर्स के लिए ई- निविदा निकाली गई है।
● केआईटीई पहला एसपीवी विशेष प्रायोजन माध्यम है जिसे केरल इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर एण्ड फंड बोर्ड से विापोषण प्राप्त हुआ है।
● बोर्ड को 5 साल में 50,000 करोड़ की योजनाओं को पूरा करने में सहयोग देने के लिए राज्य सरकार द्वारा स्थापित किया गया है।
ऑस्ट्रेलिया भारत की स्मार्ट सिटी परियोजनाओं में भागीदारी निभाने को उत्सुक
भारत की यात्रा पर आये ऑस्ट्रेलिया के 35 सदस्यीय व्यावसायिक प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने कहा है कि वह यहां राज्य सरकारों और निजी कंपनियों के साथ विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में दीर्घकालीन साझोदारी करने को उत्सुक है।
● इसमें आधारभूत ढांचा और जल क्षेत्र शामिल है।
● प्रतिनिधिमंडल यहां स्मार्ट सिटी परियोजना में भी संभावनायें तलाश रहा है।
● प्रतिनिधमंडल ने कल यहां राज्य के शहरी विकास विभाग, मुख्य सचिव सुमित मलिक और निजी क्षेत्र की कंपनियों के साथ बैठक कर महाराष्ट्र में स्मार्ट सिटी परियोजनाओं में कारोबारी अवसरों की संभावनाओं के बारे में बातचीत की।
● ऑस्ट्रेलियाई व्यापार आयुक्त ग्रेसन पेरी ने यहां कहा, हम यहां राज्य सरकार के साथ संबंध बनाने आये हैं।
● हम यहां स्मार्ट सिटी परियोजनाओं से जुड़ी निजी क्षेत्र की कंपनियों के साथ भी बातचीत करेंगे।
● हम देखेंगे कि यहां स्मार्टसिटी परियोजनाओं में आस्ट्रेलिया किस प्रकार से सहयोग कर सकता है।
● इस प्रकार की विभिन्न परियोजनाओं में आस्ट्रेलियाई कंपनियों के लिये संभावनायें तलाश रहे हैं।
सीसीएल के प्रमुख गोपाल सिंह बने कोल इंडिया के अंतरिम चेयरमैन
सेंट्रल कोलफील्ड्स लिमिटेड सीसीएल के प्रमुख गोपाल सिंह को दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी कोयला खनन कंपनी कोल इंडिया लिमिटेड सीआईएल के अध्यक्ष सह प्रबंध निदेशक सीएमडी का अतिरिक्त प्रभार दिया गया है।
● कोल इंडिया ने शुक््रुवार को इसकी जानकारी दी।
● कोल इंडिया ने बॉम्बे स्टॉक एक्सचेंज बीएसई को बताया सिंह, सुतीर्थ भट्टाचार्य की जगह लेंगे, जो कि गुरुवार को सेवानिवृत हो गये।
● कोयला मंत्रालय ने तत्काल प्रभाव से सेंट्रल कोलफील्ड्स के सीएमडी गोपाल सिंह को सीआईएल के सीएमडी का प्रभार सौंपा है।
● वह एक सितंबर 2017 से नए सीएमडी चुने जाने तक यह प्रभार संभालेंगे।
