Policy to make India a Defense Production Hub
●        In order to meet its defense needs, India has to import most of the military equipment from other countries.
●        Now the government wants to include India in five major military equipment manufacturers in the next 10 years.
●        In order to strengthen the defense production industry, Government of India can announce an important policy next month.


On LTC, Central employees can get access foreign tours
 

●        Central Government employees can get the facility of going abroad for travel under leave travel concession soon.
●        Ministry of Personnel has prepared a proposal related to it.
●        The proposal has been sought from related departments such as Home, Tourism, Civil Aviation etc.


Charities will get GST discount
 
●        The government has proposed a total budget cost of Rs 325 crores for two years with the aim of reducing the financial burden of charitable institutions like temples, mosque dargahs, gurudwaras, churches, Buddhist monasteries, religious asylums.
●        An official of the Ministry of Culture said that the proposed total budget for the financial year 2018-19 and 2019-20 is Rs 150 crore and Rs 175 crore respectively.
 
 
Paytm in preparing for instant delivery
 
●        Paytm is preparing a new retail model, so that shopkeepers can be equipped with technology, logistics and marketing capabilities.
●        According to one 97 Communications, owned by Paytm brand, under the new model, customers will soon be able to order their orders in neighborhood pharmacy, grocery and other stores and offer instant delivery.
 
 
Insurance companies have unclaimed Rs 15,000 crore
●        The recently submitted report in Parliament says that 23 insurance companies have Rs 15,000 crore lying there, who are not making any claims.
●        In this, LIC has Rs 10,509 crores and private life insurance companies have 4,675 crores.
●        Now the government has initiated an initiative to reach this unclaimed amount to its heirs.
 

Suggestions for stringent rules for the protection of children's personal data
 
●        The Justice Justice Shri krishna Committee has advocated strict provisions for the protection of the personal information of children.
●        The committee has suggested that people collecting the information should be considered as responsible parents of such data and prevent them from processing, tracking, targeted advertising etc, etc. of private information that can be harmful to children.
 

Autonomous body will be built to fund higher educational institutions
 
●        The agency being funded for the funding of higher educational institutions of the country will be largely based on the model of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council.
●        NAC is registered as an inter-university center as Autonomous Body, which falls under the University Grants Commission.
●        This institution works independently.
 

Shareholders' approval to foreign investment up to 74% in PNB Housing Finance
 
●        Shareholders of the Home Loan Business Unit of Punjab National Bank , PNB Housing Finance, have cleared foreign investment limit in the company from existing 24 percent to 74 percent.
●        In the information given to the stock exchange, the company said that the proposal to raise a maximum of Rs 90,000 crore in its annual general meeting was also approved.

Reliance plans to raise $ 2.7 billion capital
●        Mukesh Ambani's company Reliance Industries is preparing to raise capital of $ 2.7 billion from overseas market for refinancing high-cost loans .
●        The outstanding debt of the company increased from Rs 2,18,763 crore till the end of March 2018 to Rs 2,42,116 crore in the quarter ending June 2018.


Iran's currency at record low level
 
●        Along with Shiite-dominated Iran, the impact of heavy restrictions imposed by the United States on its economy has started to appear.
●        Iran's currency, which is facing a financial crisis, is going down steadily. Iran's price has risen to 1,12,000 on Saturday, compared to the dollar.
 

FPI to invest Rs 1,800 crore in July
 
●        Foreign investors have invested Rs 1,800 crore so far this month in Indian stock exchanges.
●        Whereas, in the last month, they made heavy withdrawals.
●        Between April and June, foreign investors had cleared more than Rs 20,000 crore from the stock market.

Only 66% of registered companies are active
●        About 66 percent of the total 17.79 lakh registered companies in the country were active till the end of June.
●        According to the latest data from the Corporate Affairs Ministry, till June 30, more than 11.89 lakh companies were active.

Ministry of Investment and United Arab Emirates signed MoU for Technology Cooperation
●        A Memorandum of Understanding between India and the United Arab Emirates was signed in New Delhi between the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence of Invest India and the United Arab Emirates for cooperation in the field of artificial technology on July 27, 2018.
●        On the Memorandum of Understanding, the MoU was signed in the presence of Minister of Commerce and Industry and Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu and the Vice President of the United Arab Emirates Embassy in India and the presence of Commerce Athey Mahamahim Ahmed Sultan Al Falahi.

The first Hindu temple will be built in Abu Dhabi by 2020
 
●        In Abu Dhabi, the first temple will be ready by 2020.
●        During the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Abu Dhabi in 2015, the government had given its approval for the construction of a temple in the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
●        The temple committee is expecting its construction by 2020.
●        The temple with seven towers will represent the UAE's seven emirates, which will be built on 14 acres of land near Abu Dhabi-Dubai Highway.

470 Indians are in Pakistani jails
 
●        More than 470 Indians, including 418 fishermen, are locked in Pakistani jails.
●        The Pakistani government has given this information in a report in the Supreme Court.
●        In his report, the Foreign Ministry also said that there are about 357 Pakistani prisoners in Indian jails.
