Approval of MOU between India and Jordan for Mining and Finishing of Rock Phosphate and Mop


●        With a long-term agreement for 100% uproot in India, the Union Cabinet has approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Jordan for setting up a production unit in Jordan for the mining and finishing of phosphoric acid / DAP / NPK fertilizers ( MoU has been approved.
●        To meet the needs of the country from this MoU, continuous supply of raw materials, intermediates and ready-made P & K fertilizers will be ensured at reasonable prices.
 
 
MoU clears between India and Vietnam on economic and trade cooperation


●        The Union Cabinet has approved the signing of MoU between India and Vietnam on Economic and Trade Cooperation.
●        Under this MoU, bilateral trade and economic cooperation will be further increased between India and Vietnam.
 
India and Macedonia agree to sign Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in health sector


●        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has approved the signing of MoU between India and Macedonia for cooperation in health sector.
●        The following areas of cooperation in the Memorandum include: -
●        Short-term training in capacity building and human resources in health

Memorandum of Understanding between India and Fiji on cooperation in renewable energy sector
 
●        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet was apprised of the Memorandum of Understanding regarding cooperation between renewable energy between India and Fiji.
●        The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on May 24, 2017 in Suva, Fiji.
●        A Memorandum of Understanding is a mechanism for setting up a Joint Working Committee so that issues related to the areas of cooperation can be reviewed, monitored and discussed.
●        It has a network of expertise exchange and networking of information.


For the first time in Saudi Arabia, the woman was made deputy minister
 
●        Saudi Arabia's Sultan Salman made major changes in the mechanism of the country on February 27, 2018, under which he removed the military commanders, and for the first time he has appointed a woman as a deputy minister.
●        Under the major changes in Saudi Arabia, many top commanders, including the Military Chief of Staff, have been sacked.
●        Sultan has made some political appointments along with this change, in which the queen Bint Yusuf al-Ramah has been appointed the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Development Department.

Approval of work plan for champion areas in services


●        The Union Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Commerce Department to give special attention to 12 scheduled champion service sectors with the aim of understanding the promotion and capacity of champion areas.
●        These include information technology and information technology enabled services (IT and ITES), tourism and hospitality services, medical evaluation tours, transportation and logistics services, accounting and finance services, visual audio services, legal services, communications services, construction and related engineering services, Environmental services, financial services and education services are included.
 
 Approval of agreement between India and Jordan on cooperation and mutual administrative assistance in matters relating to customs
●        The Union Cabinet has approved the agreement between India and Jordan on cooperation and mutual administrative assistance in matters relating to customs issues.
●        The agreement will help in providing appropriate information for the prevention of customs offenses and their investigation.
●        The agreement is likely to accelerate trade between the two countries and speed up the business commodities.
 
Approval of signing of cooperation in the field of labor force between India and Jordan


●        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has approved the proposal for signing a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between India and Jordan in the field of labor force.
●        The purpose of this MOU is to promote best efforts in the employment administration of the contract between the two parties, to reflect the latest improvement in the recruitment process and to promote the protection and welfare of Indian laborers in Jordan.
●        In the use of online portal for the recruitment of Indian labor force, more transparency can be achieved with the cooperation between the two parties and help in prevention of corruption in the recruitment process.
 

 Central Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister completes 88 glorious years

●        The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shri Radha Mohan Singh addressed the 89th Annual General Meeting of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in Pusa, today, in New Delhi.
●        In order to make the reach of science to the farmers, a new program 'My Village - My Gaurav' has been started by Hon'ble Prime Minister.
●        Under this program, 5 villages are adopted by a group of 4 scientists and they provide agricultural advice and information to the farmers.
 
 Implementation of 31 sewage management projects costing Rs. 1024.5 crores in Uttarakhand


●        Under Sewage Management Projects in Uttarakhand, the work of providing 100% wastewater treatment facilities in cities like Haridwar and Rishikesh has been completed.
●        In the state, 31 waste management projects related to the 155.45 MLD capacity water purification plant (STP) with an estimated cost of 1024.5 crore rupees have been approved.
●        It also includes the task of laying / moving 155.02 km long sewer line.
 
 Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati passes away


●        Jayendra Saraswati, the chief Shankaracharya of Kanchi Monastery, died on February 28, 2018, in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu.
●        Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal, chief of Kanchi Kamakoti Peeth was 82 years old.
●        He was admitted to the hospital after suffering from breathing.
●        Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswati was born on July 18, 1935 in Tamil Nadu.
●        Located in Kanchipuram Nagar of Tamil Nadu state of South India, Kanchi was the 69th Shankaracharya of Kamakoti Peeth.
●        They are considered to be the knowers of the Vedas.
 

Aircel offered to pay bankruptcy
 
●        Aircel, the sixth largest telecom operator in the country, has applied to declare himself bankrupt in the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) with its units - Aircel Cellular and Dishnet Wireless.
●        The company is under heavy burden of debt.
●        This is the fourth company since the arrival of Mukesh Ambani's Geo in September 2016, who has taken up his business.

Government to book defaulter's property


●        With a lesson from fugitives such as Nirav Modi , Mehul Choksi and Vijay Mallya , who have been absconding from the country by stealing thousands of crores of rupees from banks, the government is now preparing to screw up other such defaulters.
●        On Thursday, the Cabinet will discuss the matter that people who have a debt of more than 100 crores and they are out of the country, then the properties of such people will be taken into account.
●        After so much scandal in PNB Bank, now the government is serious about adopting a tough attitude in such cases.

●        This match was held on the 25th of the Mexican Open Tennis Tournament, i.e. Silver Jubilee.
●        The match was played between Austrian Dominic Thiem and Germany's Zvereva. Thimm won the tournament in 2016.

SBI raises the deposit rate of various periods by 0.75%
 
●        State Bank of India has increased its retail and wholesale deposit rates by 0.75%.
●        Effective since Wednesday, these rates are for different period deposits.
●        The retail deposit rate up to Rs 1 crore has been increased by 0.50 percent.
●        This move by SBI will benefit lakhs of people who have fixed deposits.
