President inaugurates Udyam Sangam-2018
●        President Shri Ram Nath Kovind today inaugurated the Udyam Sangam-2018 organized by the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to celebrate the other United Nations Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Day.
●        On this occasion, the President also launched the solar charkha and MSME Contact Portal.
●        The President said that the Udyam Sangam-2018 is an important effort to develop an effective eco system for the MSME sector.


Proposal to include experienced doctors in education, clinical / public health programs approved
●        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has given its approval to the proposal of the Center and the institutions of Central Government to include experienced doctors in education, clinical and public health programs.
●        The purpose of this acceptance is to ensure that the doctors of Central Health Services (CHS) and other Ministries / Departments / Institutions of Central Government specially work in areas of specialization when the age of 62 is fulfilled.


Approval for setting up additional emergency petroleum reserves in Karnataka
●        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has approved the setting up of emergency petroleum reserves in two locations namely Padur of Karnataka and 6.5 metric tonnes in Odisha's Silverkhole and the dedicated SPM for these two SPRs.
●        SPR establishments will be underground for silverkhole and posture and their capacity will be 4 MMT and 2.5 MMT respectively.
●        The government had announced to set up two additional SPRs in the budget announcement of 2017-18.
 

Approval of Memorandum of Understanding between India and Bahrain for cooperation in the field of health care
●        The Union Cabinet has given its approval for the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between India and Bahrain for cooperation in the field of health care.
●        The following areas of cooperation have been included in the Memorandum of Understanding:
●        Exchange of information including publications and research results.
●        Government officials, academic staff, scholars, teachers, experts and students' visits to each other.
 
 
MoU between India and Denmark for cooperation in the field of animal husbandry and dairy
●        The Union Cabinet was apprised of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between India and Denmark for cooperation in the field of Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
●        The MoU was signed on April 16, 2018.
●        The aim of this MoU is to promote the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of animal husbandry and dairy to widen the existing knowledge on the basis of dairy development and institutional sustainability.
 

Cabinet Approves Fund for National Export Insurance Account Trust
●        Under the Chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved Grant-in-aid of Rs 1,040 crore for National Export Insurance Account Trust.
●        This fund will be used for 3 years between 2017-18 to 2019-20.
●        440 crore rupees have already been received for the year 2017-18.
●        In the year 2018-19 and 2019-20, every year 300 million rupees will be given to NEIA.
 

Cabinet Approves Capital Investment to Export Credit Guarantee Corporation Limited
●        The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved capital investment of Rs 2,000 crore to strengthen the Export Credit Guarantee Corporation Limited.
●        This capital investment will be done during the 3 financial years.
●        In the financial year 2017-18, Rs 50 crore will be invested, Rs 1,450 crore in FY 2018-19 and Rs 500 crore in FY 2019-20.


51 lakh houses sanctioned in three years of its implementation under PMAY
 
●        Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs organized a meeting of its 35th Central Approval and Monitoring Committee of the Prime Minister's housing scheme, in which a total of 3,18,900 houses of six states / union territories were approved.
●        Simultaneously, PMAY has sanctioned more than 51 lakh dwelling units against the estimated demand of 10 million.
 
 
India is the most dangerous country for women: Thomson Reuters survey
 
●        Global Survey conducted by Thomson Reuters Foundation for the safety of women.
●        According to this survey, India has become the world's most dangerous country for women.
●        Survey shows that war-torn Syria and Afghanistan are also in a better position than India.
●        Somalia and Saudi Arabia also have a better status than women in terms of security.
 
 
Announcement of organizing Nutrition Campaign Tech-Thon by Ministry of Women and Child Development
 
●        The Central Women and Child Development Ministry announced a one-day seminar on 'Tech-Thon' in New Delhi on June 28, 2018.
●        Organizing this seminar is being done to bring effective behavioral changes in the beneficiaries to show the nutrition campaign and to create an atmosphere in this regard, to exchange ideas and to support the movement of people to launch mass movement.
●        This expedition focuses on specific goals to be achieved on different parameters over the next few years. Earlier, at the top level in the country, nutrition was not given much importance.
 

Haryana Government approves amendment in Deen Dayal Jan Housing Scheme
 
●        In the Cabinet meeting chaired by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the proposal to amend the Deen Dayal Jan Housing Scheme- Economical Planned Accommodation Policy, 2016 was approved in the Cabinet meeting held on 26th June 2018.
●        Under this category only 40 percent of the total planned residential area of the city will be given for development of housing project.
●        The maximum plot area has been set at 150 square meters in this scheme.
 
  
Government has proposed to form a new commission by terminating the UGC

 
●        The Central Government has prepared a draft bill for the establishment of the Higher Education Commission of India on 27th June 2018 replacing the University Grants Commission.
●        According to the draft bill, India's new Higher Education Commission will focus solely on academic matters, while financial rights will be subject to the Ministry.
●        The government is going to make big changes to improve the quality of education.
●        In the monsoon session, the government can present this bill in Parliament.

India and Germany signed MoU on cooperation in civil aviation sector
●        The Union Cabinet has approved the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between India and Germany for cooperation in the field of civil aviation.
●        The title of this MOU is a joint declaration of the interest between India and Germany on cooperation in the civil aviation sector.
●        The Joint Declaration will make effective evolution in the air transport between India and Germany.

Approval of Memorandum of Understanding between India and Singapore on cooperation in the field of employment
●        The Union Cabinet has given its approval to the Memorandum of Understanding between India and Singapore for its cooperation in the field of urban planning and development.
●        The Memorandum of Understanding was signed on May 31, 2018.

'Sagarmala' got Golden Award in 52nd Scotch Conference in 2018
●        The flagship program of the Shipping Ministry, "Sagarmala", was recently received by the Shipping Ministry in the 52nd Scotch Conference in New Delhi, in 2018, in the infrastructure sector.
●        This award has been given to Sagarmala in view of its contribution in the socio-economic transformation of India and its role in the development of quick and basic sector.
●        The order of merit was also provided during the Sagarmala program during the conference.

'Statistics Day' will be celebrated on June 29, 2018
●        In respect of the remarkable contribution made by late Professor PC Mahalanobis in the areas of Statistics, Statistical System and Economic Planning, the Government of India has, in the category of special days to be celebrated annually on national level, on June 29 as 'Statistics Day' have set.
●        On June 29, 2017, Professor PC Mahalanobis was celebrated as the birth anniversary.
●        The Indian Statistical Institute has organized year-long celebrations, which will culminate on June 29, 2018.
