Record foodgrain production in the country in 2017-18
 
●        The second advance estimates of production of major crops for the year 2017-18 by the Agriculture, Cooperative and Farmers Welfare Department have been released on 27th February, 2018.
●        Evaluation of the production of different crops is based on information received from the states and its validity information from other sources.
 
 
Tamil Nadu Defense Quad project


●        Under the guidance of Defense Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Defense Production Department of Defense Ministry has started the task of preparing Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Tamil Nadu Defense Quad.
●        The department will take services of the top consultancy company to prepare the DPR of the quad.
●        Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley has announced to set up two Defense Production Corridors in 2018-19.
●        Apart from this, it has been decided that one of the defense production corridors will be set up in Tamil Nadu.
 
 
A unique exhibition of 13 unseen copies of 'Holy Quran' was inaugurated today at the National Museum of New Delhi.


●        A reputable cultural organization under the Ministry of Culture of the Government of India -National Museum- for the first time written in various manuscript styles and is performing a collection of 'Holy Quran' written in various eras from the 7th century to the 19th century.
●        This exhibition was inaugurated by Dr Naseem Akhtar, former curator (manuscript) of the National Museum.
●        The exhibition 'Holy Quran' was shown from 27 February 2018 to 31 March 2018.

J.P. Nadda chaired the 5th meeting of NHM Operations Group Mission


●        The "Health and Wellness Center" will provide 12 services packages for the prevention, management and care of the patient. This was stated by the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, Shri J. P. Nadda while presiding over the 5th meeting of the Mission Operations Group of the National Health Mission (NHM) here today.
●        In this meeting, Mr. Hardeep S. Puri, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Union Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Ashwani Kumar Choubey, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare and Mrs. Anupriya Patel and Deputy Chairman of the Policy Commission, Dr. Rajiv Kumar were also present.
 
 
EPFO launches new facility for linking UAN-Aadhaar
 
●        Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has launched a new facility to add UAN-Aadhaar to facilitate the members using the EPFO link in the mobile mobile app.
●        Using the biometric introduction letters from the facility on E-KYC portal, the UAN will be able to be connected online from the base.
●        For the use of this facility with the amusing app, the member has to give his UAN.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi presented the annual budget
 
●        Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Sushil Kumar Modi presented the budget for the financial year 2018-19 in the Assembly on February 27, 2018.
●        Sushil Kumar Modi presented a budget of 1.76 lakh.
●        In 2018-19, a total revenue of Rs 1,580,52 crore has been estimated.
●        A budget of Rs. 153.45 crores has been allocated for the promotion of tourism in the state.
●        Solar lights will be given to 10,000 students.
●        15 thousand 828 crores will be spent for the pension.

●        A provision of 7 thousand 326 crores for outstanding refund.

'Bal Aadhar' for children under 5 years of age
 
●        The Indian Unique Identification Authority has announced the release of blue 'child base' card for children under five years of age.
●        UIDAI has tweeted this information on the basis of the important documents as the important documents for the benefit and identification of government facilities.
●        In order to create a base card for children under 5 years old, a child's birth certificate and child's birth certificate will be required.
 
Organizing the largest marine naval exercise Milan in Andaman Nicobar
 
●        In the second week of March 2018, the Indian Navy is going to organize the largest marine naval exercise Milan, in Andaman Nicobar so far.
●        This exercise will be organized from 06 March to 13 March in Port Blair under the auspices of Navy's Andaman Nicobar Command.
●        For the first time to participate in maneuvers, together with 22 countries of the world Navy will be involved in India.

Uma Bharti launches second project of Swajal scheme in Rajasthan


●        Union Minister of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ms. Uma Bharti today launched Swajal Pilot Project in Bhikampura village of Karauli district in Rajasthan.
●        Apart from ensuring availability of clean drinking water throughout the year from this project, employment opportunities will also be born.
●        Uma Bharati urged the people to adopt the project to begin soon.

●        National Science Day (NSD) is celebrated every year on 28th February.
●        This year also the Department of Science and Technology (DST) is organizing NSD festival.
●        Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Union Science and Technology (S & T), Earth Science (ES) and Environment, Forest and Climate Change (EFCC), will be the Chief Guest at the National Festival to be held in Technology Bhawan and Science and Technology (S & T) and Earth Sciences (YS) Minister of State Shri Y. S. Chaudhary will preside over the function.

International Conference on sustainable biofuels
 
●        A two-day conference was organized on sustainable biofuels on 26 and 27 February 2018.
●        This conference was organized jointly by the Department of Biotechnology and Biofutur Platform, Government of India.
●        The conference and experts of sustainable biofuel in 19 countries had gathered to review present knowledge and share information and best practices.
 
 Highest payment to the foreigners in Mumbai
 
●        According to a survey conducted by HSBC, the foreigners who are employed in Mumbai are the highest in terms of foreigners working in other countries of the world.
●        Asia's countries are at the top of this list than Europe.
●        According to the HSBC Survey, Asian Cities in Shanghai, Jakarta, Hong Kong Top Ten are included in offering more salaries.
●        Foreigners working in India's financial capital Mumbai earn an annual income of Rs 1.40 crore.
●        This amount is almost double the global average.

Women in Saudi Arabia allowed to join army
 
●        Recently, adding more lessons to the reformist measures being taken by Saudi Arabia has invited applications for jobs in the army for the recent women.
●        It was also said that the army's job would be voluntary for women, that is, it would not be mandatory for women to go to the army.
●        According to information released by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Public Safety Directorate has started recruiting military posts on 25th February 2018.
●        These women will be appointed in Riyadh, Mecca, Medina, Qasim, Asir, Al-Baha and Sharqiyah.

21st National Conference on e-governance started in Hyderabad
 
●        The 21st National Conference on e-governance started in Hyderabad on February 26, 2018.
●        The conference is being organized by the Government of India with the administrative reforms and Public Grievances Department (DARPG), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Telangana Government.
●        The conference will be organized from 26 February to 27 February 2018.

 
Ministry of Finance releases list of 'High Risk' finance companies
 
●        Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), a working entity under the Ministry of Finance, has released a list of nearly 9,500 non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) which have been referred to as 'High Risk Financial Institutions'.
●        This list contains the names of these NBFCs which have been kept in 'High Risk' category.
●        FIU has found in its investigation that these companies did not comply with the Law of Money Laundering Act till January 31.
 
  
DLF to pay Rs 1,496 crore for land in Gurgaon


●        Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) has auctioned 11.76 acres in Gurgaon, for which DLF has made a bid of Rs 1,496 crore.
●        Three sources aware of this matter have given this information.
●        Apart from this, the company may have to pay 143 crores rupees separately for transit-oriented development rights.
●        DLF will also pay Rs 120 crore for this land registry.
