Modified guidelines for closing CPSE
●        Public Enterprises Department (DPE) revised the guidelines for the timely liquidation of the Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) in the sick and the deficit and the settlement of their assets on June 14, 2018.
●        These revised guidelines have replaced the preceding guidelines issued on September 7, 2016.
 
 
Government launches overall education scheme from infant school to class 12
●        In the Union Budget of 2018-19, the school education and literacy department has started an Integration Scheme, without the classification of school education from the infant school to class 12.
●        The three center sponsored schemes in the scheme have been included Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, National Secondary Education Campaign and Teacher Education.
 

Under the institutes of excellence only government institutions will be given a grant of Rs.1000 crore
●        The UGC has issued / notified the UGC guidelines, 2017 for the establishment / upgradation of 20 institutes and UGC Regulation, 2017 for private institutions.
●        These institutions will be centers of world-class teaching and research that will be called excellent institutions.
●        Accordingly, according to the notification issued by the UGC on September 13, 2017, the applicants from the existing government institutions and existing private institutions, as well as organizations that opened new institutes, had applied for the applications.
 

National Achievement Survey was conducted
●        In order to increase the focus on the quality of elementary education, the amendment was made on 20th February, 2017 in the Central Rules of the Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, to include the context of learning or learning according to class and subject.
●        The standard of learning or knowledge gained in languages (Hindi, English and Urdu), Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Science and Social Science has been finalized for each class till elementary education and shared with all the States and Union Territories.
 

During the last 3 years, a total of 170426 schools have been allowed for self defense training of girls from class 9 to 12
●        Government of India has been promoting self defense training for girls under the pre-sponsored scheme of National Secondary Education Campaign.
●        Self-defense training is given to increase the safety of girls in and out of schools, so that girls in the emergencies will be confident.
●        The Central Government had introduced a consolidated scheme called "Composite Education, effective from 2018-19" for school education.
 
 
National Examination Agency will organize JEE (Main) and NEETexamination twice a year
●        In the meeting of the Union Cabinet held on November 10, 2017, in compliance with the budget announcement 2017-18, the formation of the National Examination Agency (NTA) was approved as an autonomous institution.
●        Its aim is to organize entrance examinations in higher education institutions.
●        NTA will organize JEE (Main) and National Eligibility and Entrance Exam (NEET) -UG exams twice a year to provide adequate opportunities to the candidates.


Launch of online diesel grant program in Bihar
 
●        Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched the online transfer program for the farmers' bank account of diesel grants.
●        Under this program, the money of diesel grants will be direct online transfer to the bank account of the farmers.
●        The farmer struggles with the crisis at the time of calamities, so the government is open to every possible help of farmers.


second meeting of National Council on Nutrition Challenges of India under Nutrition Campaign
 
●        The Central Women and Child Development Ministry organized a second meeting of the National Council on Nutrition Challenges of India under the Nutrition Campaign in New Delhi on July 24, 2018.
●        The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Commission, Rajiv Kumar.
●        Under the Nutrition Campaign in the meeting, sanction was given to include 32 new districts in current year 2018-19.
 
 
The first fully dedicated women hotel launched in Kerala.
 
●        The Kerala Tourism Development Department will be the first hotel in India to be the women of Kerala in Thiruvananthapuram, which will be for women by women.
●        Kerala Tourism Minister Kadakampally Surendran inaugurated this work by the Kerala Transport Development Finance Corporation Complex Thampanoor on July 25, 2018.
●        There is a shortage of such types of hotels in all parts of the country, where the women traveling alone can stop safely and comfortably, therefore the Kerala government has taken a very important step in this direction.

Kargil Vijay Diwas Festival -2018
●        On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas-2012 here today, Defense Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman paid tribute to the brave soldiers who participated in Operation Vijay along with the heads of all the three organs of the Army.
●        The Indo-Pak Kargil war is known as Operation Vijay.
●        This fight was fought in difficult geographical conditions near the LoC in Jupiter in the west in May and July 1999 in the east.

Atal Navachar Mission, Policy Commission and MEGA launches 'Innovate India Platform'
●        Arvind Gupta, Mission Director of Atal Innovation Mission, R. Ramanan and CEO of MEGV today launched the '# Innovate India Platform' which is an alliance between the Atal Innovation Mission and the Government of India's citizen-centric platform 'Mygov'.
●        # Innovate India Portal will work as a common center for all innovative steps in the country.
 

Delhi government launches solar plan to increase income of farmers
 
●        The Government of Delhi, the Cabinet announced a solar plan on July 24, 2018, which will increase the income of the farmers along with an increase in electricity at cheaper rates.
●        The name of this scheme - 'Chief Minister Kisan Income Growth Solar Scheme' passed in the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
 
 
 Odisha Government launches 'Green Mahanadi Mission'
 
●        Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched 'Green Mahanadi Mission' on July 24, 2018.
●        The Chief Minister started this mission by planting the banks along the Mahanadi during the tour of the Sambalpur district, western Odisha.
●        Addressing the occasion, the Chief Minister urged the people of the state to make maximum tree plantation during the monsoon.
●        During this year's long-running campaign, crores of trees will be planted from Rangli to Devgaon including Sambalpur, Burla, Hirakud.

US will not ban CAATSA ban against India
 
●        The U.S. Congress and House Armed Services Committee has given an amendment tax rebate in Section 231 of CAATSA in the Joint Conference Report of the National Defense Authority Act -2013 in Washington.
●        On military deal with Russia, the US was planning to ban India under the CAATSA.
●        Additional Indonesia and Vietnam of India have also been exempted from this restriction.
●        This ban was imposed on arms from Russia and countries that bought oil from Iran.

Indian Air Force will participate in Pitch Black Maneuvers for the first time
 
●        The Indian Air Force is going to take part in the Pitch Black-2011 in Multinational Aeronautical Practice organized by Australia's Air Force.
●        In this air exercise, India is also taking its combat aircraft Sukhoi-30 MKI apart from Hercules and Globemaster planes.
●        This exercise will run from 27 July 2018 to 17 August 2018.

Researchers discovered underground lake on Mars
 
●        The researchers first discovered the underground lake on Mars.
●        In a study published in the American Journal 'Science', researchers have said that the lake under the snow on Mars is about 20 kilometers wide and the ice layer is frozen here.
●        Alan Duffy, assistant professor at Swinburne University in Australia, said that this gives the possibility of favorable conditions of life open.
