Launch of viral load test


●        Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Shri J.P. Nadda launched Viral Load Test for people suffering from HIV / AIDS (PLHIV) during a function organized here today.
●        With this initiative, the free viral load test of 12 lakh PLHVs being treated in the country will be done at least once in a year.
●        Nadda also announced that after all 'Treat All', viral load test is a major step towards the treatment and monitoring of people suffering from HIV.

 Intermodal stations will be built in 15 cities


●        The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has undertaken a detailed feasibility study to set up Intermodal Station (IMS) in Nagpur and Varanasi and detailed project report (DPR) for this is in the final stages of preparation.
●        In order to develop intermodal station, 15 cities of the country have been given priority, out of which Nagpur and Varanasi have been selected for the pilot project.

Nitin Gadkari inaugurated Truck Parking Terminal and Information Center at Tuticorin Port


●        Union Road Transport and Highways, Shipping, Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Conservation Minister, Shri Nitin Gadkari today under the ambitious Sagarmala project, V.O. Tuticorin. Inauguration of a Truck Parking Terminal at the port of Chidambaranar. Built at a cost of Rs 23.69 crore, this terminal can operate up to 200 trucks.
●        The Minister of State for Finance and Shipping, Shri P. Radhakrishnan was also present on this occasion.
●        Shri Gadkari also inaugurated a Port Information Center.
●        Built at a cost of Rs 1.89 crore, this information center has 60 LED panels, which show the emergence and development of this port.
 
 Nitin Gadkari laid the foundation stone of National Technology Center for ports, waterways and beaches in IIT Chennai


●        Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Conservation Minister, Shri Nitin Gadkari today laid the foundation stone of National Technology Center (NTCPWC) of ports, waterways and beaches in IIT Chennai.
●        On this occasion, IIT Chennai and Ministry signed a memorandum of understanding on this occasion.
●        NTCPWC has been established under the flagship program of Shipping Ministry, Sagarmala.


Former Cabinet Secretary TSR Subramanian passes away
 
●        Former Cabinet Secretary TSR Subramanian died on February 26, 2018.
●        He was 79 years old.
●        A committee was formed a few years ago under the chairmanship of former Cabinet Secretary TSR Subramanian, to create a new education policy.
●        TSR Subramanian remained a part of bureaucrats and politicians, whose petition was initiated by the Supreme Court in the year 2013 in the reform of civil services.


Bill of Rights to Power will come in Parliament's Monsoon session
 
●        The government is planning to bring a bill in the monsoon session of Parliament, so that people can get the right to get electricity supply.
●        Under this, the power distributors will be held accountable for not having 24 hours of electricity supply in the normal conditions since April 2019.
●        PM Narendra Modi has fixed deadline April 1, 2019 to ensure electricity supply to every household in the country.
 
Live telecast of meeting of government and officers


●        Delhi Government is considering live telecast of its meetings with the officers.
●        Working on a live broadcast of these meetings is being done on one website.
●        Apart from this, the planning of the notice of the ministers and officers on files is also made online.

Meeting of India and US delegations for cooperation in defense sector


●        As part of Indo-US bilateral defense cooperation, the eighth meeting of the Inter Agency Working Group formed on Defense Technology and Trade Initiative (DTTI) was held here today.
●        Vice-Chief of the Integrated Defense Staff, Vice Admiral A.K., co-chaired this meeting. Jain and Acting Director (International Cooperation) Mr. Matthew Warren.
●        DTTI was launched in 2012 as an idea of former US Defense Minister Dr. Ashton Carter.

International Conference on sustainable biofuels


●        A two-day conference on sustainable biofuels is being organized jointly by the Department of Biotechnology and the Biofuels Platform of the Government of India.
●        Experts and representatives of sustainable biofuels in 19 countries will review current knowledge and share information and best practices and will agree on taking necessary steps for the future.


China becomes vice president of FATF
 
●        China became the Vice President of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). India congratulated China for becoming the Vice President of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
●        At the FATF's full meeting, the US and some of its European collaborators were in favor of putting Pakistan on the list of countries that fund terrorism.
●        India expressed hope that Beijing will maintain the objective of the organization in a balanced and objective manner and will support it.
●        FATF is a global body that has the responsibility of fighting terror financing.

M. Venkaiah Naidu conferred the Prime Minister's Labor Award to 338 workers


●        Hon'ble Vice President Mr. M.Venkaiah Naidu conferred the Prime Minister's Labor Award to 338 workers in the presence of Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Minister of State for Labor and Employment.
●        Vice President has given 194 prestigious awards for the year 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 here at a function here.
●        The award winners included the public undertakings of at least 500 workers of central and state governments and workers working in private units.

●        Indian Railway Station Development Corporation Limited (IRSDC) has started work on redevelopment of around 600 major railway stations across the country.
●        Under this comprehensive expedition, assistance and participation of all stakeholders, such as rail passengers, urban planners, architects and engineers, is essential.
●        In view of this objective of consultation with the stakeholders, the launch of a competition 'creation of a competition (joint initiative by the Station Rejuvenation Initiative) for inviting innovative ideas (Idea) for the development of 635 stations in Indian Railways was launched by MEGAV Has been done on the portal.

RBI launches Ombudsman scheme for NBFCs
 
●        Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has introduced the Lokpal Scheme for non-banking finance companies (NBFCs) on February 23, 2018.
●        This arrangement will facilitate the speedy and duty free redressal of complaints related to the reduction of services in NBFCs.
●        The offices of NBFC Ombudsman will work in the metros of Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai.

CSIR signs MoU with IORA


●        The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has organized regional center for the transfer of science and technology of the Indian Ocean Coastal Regional Cooperation Association (IORA) to make a coordinating center for Central Medicinal and Aromatic Vegetation Institute, Lucknow (CSIR-CIMAP). Has signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
●        On the memorandum of understanding, CSIR-CIMAP Director Professor Anil Kumar Tripathi and IORA-RCSTT Director Dr. A. Sedpausan signed the memorandum.

Organizing the largest marine naval exercise Milan-2011 in Andaman Nicobar
 
●        In the second week of March 2018, the Indian Navy is going to organize the largest marine naval exercise Milan-2011, in Andaman Nicobar so far.
●        This exercise will be organized from 06 March to 13 March in Port Blair under the auspices of Navy's Andaman Nicobar Command.
●        For the first time to participate in maneuvers, together with 22 countries of the world Navy will be involved in India.

Yuki reached 101th position in ATP ranking
 

●        India's top singles tennis player Yuki Bhambri has reached the 101rd position with a gain of 11 places in the latest ATP singles ranking.
●        Yuki got the benefit of a spectacular performance in the Chennai Open Challenge Tournament where he was runners-up.
●        After losing to Australian Thompson of Australia in the final, he got 48 ranking points and $ 4240 prize money from this tournament.
