Third Anniversary of the Research Initiative of Lok Sabha Speaker
 
●        President Ramnath Kovind addressed the program organized in New Delhi today (July 24, 2018) on the third anniversary of the Speaker's Amendment Initiative.
●        In his address on this occasion, the President said that the role of Parliament and Legislative Assemblies in democracy is to discuss, debate and make decisions.
●        It is necessary for the success of parliamentary democracy that all members of Parliament respect each other's views and maintain dignity.
 

The Prime Minister presented Cows to the residents of Ruwaru Adarsh village under the Girinka program of the Government of Rwanda.
●        Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented 200 cows to the villagers under the Girinka program of the Rwanda government who had no one cow yet.
●        This program of Cows was organized in Ruwaru Model Village in the presence of Rwanda President Paul Kagame.
●        Modi appreciated the initiative of Girinka program and President Kagame for this occasion.
 
 

Indian Trade Promotion Organization created a hostel for the blind college in New Delhi.
●        Indian Trade Promotion Organization has created a new hostel for the blind college at Panchkuian in New Delhi.
●        ITPO Chairman Co-Director LC Goyal inaugurated it today.
●        ITPO had given Rs 52 lakhs for making this hostel under the Corporate Social Responsibility Initiative during 2015-16.
 

Clean survey rural program launched in Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Maharashtra
●        Clean survey announced by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation Rural 2018 program was launched in three states on July 13, 2018.
●        An independent survey agency under SSG 2018 will conduct survey in all the districts between 1 to 31 August 2018 and prepare the rankings of all the districts and states on the basis of sanitation norms.
●        The states and districts receiving the highest position are expected to be honored on October 2, 2018.
 
 
2,67,546 houses have been approved for 10 states in the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme
●        Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has approved the construction of 2,67,546 and affordable houses in the interest of the urban poor under the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme.
●        This approval was given in the 36th meeting of the Central Approval and Monitoring Committee held here today.
●        59421 houses have been sanctioned for Madhya Pradesh, whereas 55296 affordable houses have been approved for Gujarat.
●        Similarly, for Maharashtra, 52935 houses, 36370 houses for Uttar Pradesh, 26604 houses for West Bengal and 15924 houses for Bihar have been approved.
 
 
Indian Oil Corp gave Rs. 1 crore for the help of Divyangjan

●        Indian Oil Corporation Limited signed a memorandum of Rs. 1 crore for the help of Divyangjan, along with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India, an artificial foot manufacturing company under the Corporate Social Responsibility Plan UPSO-II.
●        ALIMCO is a subsidiary unit of the Department of Divyangjan Sansthan, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
●        Mr. Vinay Kumar Mishra, Executive Director, UPSO-II, exchanged an MoU with Mr. L. Sarin, Chairman and Managing Director, ALIMCO, in the presence of all the Heads of UPSO-II.
 

17 sites of the country will be developed as Icon tourist destinations
●        The Ministry of Tourism has identified 17 sites located in 12 clusters of the country, which will be developed under Icon Tourism Site Development Project.
●        It was announced in the budget speech of 2018-19.
●        17 places are below- Uttar Pradesh- Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri; Maharashtra- Ajanta and Ellora; Delhi-Humayun's Tomb, Red Fort and Qutub Minar; Goa-Colva Beach; Rajasthan- Amer Fort; Gujarat- Somnath and Dholavira; Madhya Pradesh - Khajuraho; Karnataka- Hampi; Tamilnadu- Mahabalipuram; Assam-Kaziranga; Kerala- Kumarakom; Bihar - Mahabodhi


Conference on mobilizing CSR fund for aspiring districts
●        A conference was organized jointly by the Policy Commission and the Department of Public Enterprises today to mobilize CSR funds for the development of aspiring districts by the Central Public Sector Enterprises.
●        Ensuring widespread change in aspiring districts is, in fact, a major initiative of the Government of India, with the participation of the State Governments, which is received specially by the Policy Commission.
●        Under this initiative organized efforts are being made to bring about a massive change in those 117 aspiring districts, which has made relatively little progress in the field of health, nutrition, education etc.
 
 

Bihar assembly cleared liquor ban amendment Bill
 
●        The Bihar Legislative Assembly approved the amendment to prohibition of liquor ban law on July 23, 2018.
●        Through these modifications, the prohibition of alcoholism has been substantially reduced to earlier.
●        Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar while presenting the bill said that the state has benefited greatly from the implementation of prohibition.
 

Supreme Court lifted complete ban on Jantar Mantar on demonstration
 
●        The Supreme Court said on July 23, 2018, there could be no complete restriction on performing or protesting on Jantar Mantar.
●        The court directed the Center to set guidelines for allowing such demonstrations.
●        The bench of Justices AK Sikri and Ashok Bhushan has allowed the agitators to perform peacefully at Jantar Mantar, Boat Club and other places.
 
 
Lok Sabha passed the Education Training Council (Amendment) Bill, 2017
 
●        The National Teachers Training Council (Amendment) Bill, 2013 was passed by the Lok Sabha on July 23, 2018.
●        This will provide relief to those who have studied BEd, D.E., M.E.D. and many other courses whose institute courses were not recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education.
●        Under the amendment bill, 20 central and state universities have been included.
●        In the House, this bill was passed by voice vote.


Launch of online diesel grant program in Bihar
 
●        Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar launched the online transfer program for the farmers' bank account of diesel grants.
●        Under this program, the money of diesel grants will be direct online transfer to the bank account of the farmers.
●        The farmer struggles with the crisis at the time of calamities, so the government is open to every possible help of farmers.

Indian Air Force will participate in Pitch Black-18 exercises for the first time with Royal Australian Air Force
●        A team of IAF comprising four SU-30 MKI, one X-130 and one X-17 aircraft, landed on Australia's Darwin Air Force Base today.
●        This is the first time in which the IAF is participating in the multinational air exercise in Australia with the Royal Australian Air Force.
●        More than 100 planes from all over the world will participate in this program and provide a unique opportunity for air warriors to operate in a war-like situation.

Central Sports Minister approves financial assistance of Rs five lakh for former arsonist Ashok Soren
●        Union Minister for Youth and Sports Col Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has given financial assistance of Rs five lakh for former Armed Forces Ashok Soren.
●        This financial help will be given to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Welfare Fund made for the players.
●        Soren is currently living in Jamshedpur and is struggling with financial hardships.

Eight agreements between India and Rwanda
 
●        Signed eight agreements after delegation level talks in Kigali between Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and President Paul Kagame of Rwanda.
●        To bring India closer to African countries, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Rwanda on July 23, 2018, on the first leg of three African countries.
●        India has been collaborating in Rwanda's field of training, technology, infrastructure development and project assistants.

 
 
India offers 20 million dollar loan to Rwanda
 
●        Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Rwanda on July 23, 2018, on the trip to three African countries.
●        Rwanda President Paul Kagma welcomed him warmly as Prime Minister's plane landed at Kigali International Airport.
●        Prime Minister Modi held detailed discussions with Rwanda President Paul Kagame and discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the field of trade and agriculture.
