Haryana’s Hisar Airport renamed as Maharaja Agrasen International Airport
• Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced to rename the Hisar Airport as Maharaja Agrasen International Airport.
• The Hisar Airport is a domestic airport and the first DGCA licensed Public Aerodrome of the State. This airport is presently under up-gradation to be transformed as an international airport by 30 March 2024.
India’s largest Floating Solar in Andhra Pradesh
• NTPC has commissioned the largest floating solar PV project in India of 25MW power on the reservoir of its Simhadri thermal station in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This is also the first solar project to be set up under the Flexibilisation Scheme. This scheme was notified by the Government of India in 2018. NTPC is also planning to set up a hydrogen-based micro-grid system on a pilot basis at Simhadri.
• NTPC’s floating solar installation covers 75 acres of the Simhadri reservoir’s surface. It will produce power from more than a lakh of solar PV modules for lighting 7,000 households. The project will annually save 46,000 tonnes of CO2 emission and 1,364 million litres of water, which is adequate to meet the requirement of 6,700 households in a year.
Highest herbal park of India inaugurated in Uttarakhand
• India’s highest altitude herbal park has been inaugurated at Mana village in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The herbal park is situated at a height of 11,000 feet was and is close to the Indo-China border. Mana is the last Indian village in Chamoli bordering China and is adjacent to Badrinath temple. The herbal park has around 40 species found in high altitude alpine areas in the Himalayan region.
• The main aim of this high altitude herbal park is to conserve various medicinally and culturally important alpine species and to do research on their propagation and habitat ecology.
• The park has been developed on an area of three acres given by Mana Van Panchayat by the Research Wing of Uttarakhand Forest Department.
Finance Minister N. Sitharaman launched ‘Ubharte Sitaare Fund’
• Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has launched an ambitious ‘Ubharte Sitaare Fund’ -USF for export-oriented firms and startups in a program at Lucknow. The Fund aims at arranging funds for the promotion of micro, small and medium companies. The fund has been set up by Exim Bank and SIDBI. This scheme will be successful in Uttar Pradesh as the state has the highest number of MSMEs.
• India Exim Bank’s Ubharte Sitaare Programme (USP) identifies Indian companies that have the potential to be future champions in the domestic arena while catering to global demands.
• The fund is a mix of structured support, both financial and advisory services through investments in equity or equity-like instruments, debt (funded and non-funded) and technical assistance (advisory services, grants and soft loans) to the Indian companies.
Onam, Harvest Festival celebrated in Kerala
• Onam is the most revered and celebrated festival of Kerala, is celebrated every year by the Malayali community across the world. The 10-day long festival marks the beginning of harvest season as well as the appearance of the Vaman avatar of Lord Vishnu along with the homecoming of King Mahabali.
• The festival begins from Atham (Hasta) nakshatram, and ends on Thiruvonam (Shravana) nakshatram. This year, the harvest festival began on August 12 and will conclude on August 23. The 10 days of the festival are named on the names of astrological stars as per the Malayalam calendar.
• The celebration of Onam begins with Atham. People in Kerala decorates their home with yellow flowers known as Pokkalam.
Finance and Corporate minister N. Sitharaman launched the National Monetisation Pipeline
• Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman has launched the asset monetisation pipeline of Central ministries and public sector entities: ‘National Monetisation Pipeline’. Asset Monetisation, means a limited period license/ lease of an asset, owned by the government or public authority, to a private sector entity for upfront or periodic consideration.
• The National Monetisation Pipeline (NMP) lists out assets and asset classes, under various infrastructure ministries, which will be monetised over a period of time. Which means assets will be monetised.

Nakul Chopra appointed as the CEO of BARC India
• Television monitoring agency Broadcast Audience Research Council (Barc) has announced the appointment of Nakul Chopra as its chief executive officer (CEO) effective 25 August 2021. Former CEO Sunil Lulla has resigned to pursue his ambition as an entrepreneur. This announcement comes as Sunil Lulla has decided to resign from the position of CEO to pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions.
• Chopra had joined the BARC India Board in 2016 and had been elected as the Chairman during 2018-19. In January 2020, he was appointed as a member of BARC’s Oversight Committee. The media and advertising industry veteran had earlier served as the CEO, India and South Asia of Publicis Worldwide for over a decade.

PT Usha's coach OM Nambiar passes away at 89
• O.M. Nambiar, the man who transformed a village girl P.T. Usha into Asia’s Golden Girl, passed away. One of India’s most famous coaches, Nambiar spotted Usha at a very young age in 1976 and soon began coaching her at the Kannur Sports Division.
• Under his guidance, Usha began winning medals at the Asian level but his best move was making the sprinter switch to the 400m hurdles before the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics.

• The World Water Week is an annual event organized by Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) since 1991 to address the global water issues and related concerns of international development.
• The World Water Week 2021 has been organised from 23-27 August, in entirely digital format. The theme for World Water Week 2021 is ‘Building Resilience Faster’.

Paytm & HDFC Bank in payment tie up
• HDFC Bank and Paytm have partnered to build comprehensive solutions across payment gateway, point of sale machines and credit products. This includes Paytm Postpaid which is a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) solution, Eazy EMI and Flexi Pay. The partnership will also deliver enhanced SmartHub solutions to the market. HDFC Bank SmartHub solutions is an integrated platform offering merchants a one-stop solution shop for all their business needs payments.
• First: HDFC Bank will drive merchant partnerships across India, to whom Paytm will offer its existing range of Android POS devices. Here, HDFC Bank will be the payment partner, while Paytm will be the distribution and software partner.
Cybersecurity Multi-Donor Trust Fund - World Bank Group
• The World Bank has launched a new ‘Cybersecurity Multi-Donor Trust Fund’, to better roll out cybersecurity development agenda in a systematic manner. The new fund has been developed as an associated trust fund under the broader Digital Development Partnership (DDP) umbrella program.
• World Bank has partnered with four countries, namely Estonia, Japan, Germany, and the Netherlands, to launch the fund. The main aim of this new fund is to enhance cyber and digital security capability and capacity in World Bank member countries, with the development of global knowledge, country assessments, technical assistance, capacity building and training, along with necessary investments in infrastructure and technology.

हरियाणा के हिसार हवाई अड्डे का नाम बदलकर महाराजा अग्रसेन अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डा किया गया
• हरियाणा के मुख्यमंत्री मनोहर लाल खट्टर ने हिसार हवाई अड्डे का नाम बदलकर महाराजा अग्रसेन अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डा करने की घोषणा की है। हिसार हवाई अड्डा एक घरेलू हवाई अड्डा है और राज्य का पहला DGCA लाइसेंस प्राप्त सार्वजनिक हवाई अड्डा है।
• यह हवाई अड्डा वर्तमान में 30 मार्च 2024 तक एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे के रूप में परिवर्तित होने के लिए उन्नयन के अधीन है।
आंध्र प्रदेश में भारत का सबसे बड़ा फ्लोटिंग सोलर
• एनटीपीसी ने आंध्र प्रदेश के विशाखापट्टनम में अपने सिम्हाद्री थर्मल स्टेशन के जलाशय पर 25 मेगावाट बिजली की भारत में सबसे बड़ी फ्लोटिंग सोलर पीवी परियोजना शुरू की है। फ्लेक्सिबिलाइजेशन योजना के तहत स्थापित होने वाली यह पहली सौर परियोजना भी है। इस योजना को 2018 में भारत सरकार द्वारा अधिसूचित किया गया था। एनटीपीसी सिम्हाद्री में पायलट आधार पर हाइड्रोजन आधारित माइक्रो-ग्रिड सिस्टम स्थापित करने की भी योजना बना रहा है।
• एनटीपीसी का फ्लोटिंग सोलर इंस्टॉलेशन सिम्हाद्री जलाशय की सतह के 75 एकड़ को कवर करता है। यह 7,000 घरों में रोशनी के लिए एक लाख से अधिक सौर पीवी मॉड्यूल से बिजली का उत्पादन करेगा। इस परियोजना से सालाना 46,000 टन CO2 उत्सर्जन और 1,364 मिलियन लीटर पानी की बचत होगी, जो एक वर्ष में 6,700 घरों की आवश्यकता को पूरा करने के लिए पर्याप्त है।
उत्तराखंड में भारत के सबसे ऊंचे हर्बल पार्क का उद्घाटन
• उत्तराखंड के चमोली जिले के माना गांव में भारत के सबसे ऊंचाई वाले हर्बल पार्क का उद्घाटन किया गया है। हर्बल पार्क 11,000 फीट की ऊंचाई पर स्थित है और भारत-चीन सीमा के करीब है। माना चीन की सीमा से लगे चमोली में अंतिम भारतीय गांव है और बद्रीनाथ मंदिर से सटा हुआ है। हिमालयी क्षेत्र में ऊंचाई वाले अल्पाइन क्षेत्रों में पाए जाने वाले हर्बल पार्क की लगभग 40 प्रजातियां हैं।
• इस उच्च ऊंचाई वाले हर्बल पार्क का मुख्य उद्देश्य विभिन्न औषधीय और सांस्कृतिक रूप से महत्वपूर्ण अल्पाइन प्रजातियों का संरक्षण करना और उनके प्रसार और आवास पारिस्थितिकी पर शोध करना है।
• यह पार्क उत्तराखंड वन विभाग के अनुसंधान विंग द्वारा माना वन पंचायत द्वारा दिए गए तीन एकड़ क्षेत्र में विकसित किया गया है।
वित्त मंत्री एन. सीतारमण ने लॉन्च किया 'उभरते सितारे फंड'
• केंद्रीय वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने लखनऊ में एक कार्यक्रम में निर्यात-उन्मुख फर्मों और स्टार्टअप के लिए एक महत्वाकांक्षी 'उभरते सितारे फंड' -यूएसएफ (USF) लॉन्च किया है। फंड का उद्देश्य सूक्ष्म, लघु और मध्यम कंपनियों को बढ़ावा देने के लिए धन की व्यवस्था करना है। फंड की स्थापना एक्ज़िम बैंक और सिडबी ने की है। यह योजना उत्तर प्रदेश में सफल होगी क्योंकि राज्य में एमएसएमई (MSMEs) की संख्या सबसे अधिक है।
• इंडिया एक्ज़िम बैंक का उबरते सितारे कार्यक्रम (USP) उन भारतीय कंपनियों की पहचान करता है जिनमें वैश्विक मांगों को पूरा करते हुए घरेलू क्षेत्र में भविष्य की चैंपियन बनने की क्षमता है।
• यह फंड भारतीय कंपनियों को इक्विटी या इक्विटी जैसे उपकरणों, ऋण (वित्त पोषित और गैर-वित्त पोषित) और तकनीकी सहायता (सलाहकार सेवाएं, अनुदान और सॉफ्ट लोन) में निवेश के माध्यम से वित्तीय और सलाहकार सेवाओं दोनों का संरचित समर्थन का मिश्रण है।
केरल में मनाया गया ओणम, हार्वेस्ट फेस्टिवल
• ओणम केरल का सबसे प्रतिष्ठित और मनाया जाने वाला त्योहार है, जो प्रतिवर्ष विश्व भर में मलयाली समुदाय द्वारा मनाया जाता है। 10 दिनों तक चलने वाला यह त्योहार फसल के मौसम की शुरुआत के साथ-साथ राजा महाबली की घर वापसी के साथ-साथ भगवान विष्णु के वामन अवतार के प्रकट होने का प्रतीक है।
• त्योहार अथम (हस्त) नक्षत्रम से शुरू होता है, और थिरुवोनम (श्रवण) नक्षत्रम पर समाप्त होता है। इस वर्ष, फसल उत्सव 12 अगस्त को शुरू हुआ और 23 अगस्त को समाप्त होगा। त्योहार के 10 दिनों का नाम मलयालम कैलेंडर के अनुसार ज्योतिषीय सितारों के नाम पर रखा गया है।
• ओणम के उत्सव की शुरुआत अथम से होती है। केरल में लोग अपने घर को पीले फूलों से सजाते हैं जिन्हें पोक्कालम के नाम से जाना जाता है।
वित्त और कॉर्पोरेट मंत्री एन. सीतारमण ने राष्ट्रीय मुद्रीकरण पाइपलाइन का शुभारंभ किया
• केंद्रीय वित्त और कॉर्पोरेट मामलों की मंत्री, निर्मला सीतारमण ने केंद्रीय मंत्रालयों और सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र की संस्थाओं की संपत्ति मुद्रीकरण पाइपलाइन: 'राष्ट्रीय मुद्रीकरण पाइपलाइन' शुरू की है। एसेट मुद्रीकरण का अर्थ है सरकार या सार्वजनिक प्राधिकरण के स्वामित्व वाली संपत्ति का सीमित अवधि का लाइसेंस/पट्टा, एक निजी क्षेत्र की इकाई को अग्रिम या आवधिक विचार के लिए।
• राष्ट्रीय मुद्रीकरण पाइपलाइन (एनएमपी) विभिन्न बुनियादी ढांचा मंत्रालयों के तहत संपत्ति और संपत्ति वर्गों को सूचीबद्ध करती है, जिनका समय के साथ मुद्रीकरण किया जाएगा। यानी संपत्ति का मुद्रीकरण होगा।

• टेलीविजन निगरानी एजेंसी ब्रॉडकास्ट ऑडियंस रिसर्च काउंसिल (Barc) ने 25 अगस्त 2021 से प्रभावी मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (सीईओ) के रूप में नकुल चोपड़ा की नियुक्ति की घोषणा की है। पूर्व सीईओ सुनील लुल्ला ने एक उद्यमी के रूप में अपनी महत्वाकांक्षा को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए इस्तीफा दे दिया है। यह घोषणा तब होती है जब सुनील लुल्ला ने अपनी उद्यमशीलता की महत्वाकांक्षाओं को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए सीईओ के पद से इस्तीफा देने का फैसला किया है।

पीटी उषा के कोच ओम नांबियार का 89 . की उम्र में निधन
• ओ. एम. नम्बियार, वह शख्स जिसने गांव की एक लड़की पी.टी. उषा को एशिया की गोल्डन गर्ल बनाया का निधन हो गया है | भारत के सबसे प्रसिद्ध कोचों में से एक, नम्बियार ने 1976 में बहुत कम उम्र में उषा को देखा और जल्द ही उसे कन्नूर स्पोर्ट्स डिवीजन में कोचिंग देना शुरू कर दिया।
• उनके मार्गदर्शन में, उषा ने एशियाई स्तर पर पदक जीतना शुरू किया, लेकिन उनका सबसे अच्छा कदम 1984 के लॉस एंजिल्स ओलंपिक से पहले धावक को 400 मीटर बाधा दौड़ में बदलना था।

विश्व जल सप्ताह 2021: 23-27 अगस्त
• विश्व संस्कृत दिवस, (संस्कृत दिवस के रूप में भी जाना जाता है), प्रतिवर्ष श्रावणपूर्णिमा पर मनाया जाता है, जो हिंदू कैलेंडर में श्रावण महीने का पूर्णिमा दिवस है, जिसे रक्षा बंधन के रूप में भी चिह्नित किया जाता है। 2021 में यह दिन 22 अगस्त 2021 को मनाया जा रहा है।
• यह दिन संस्कृत की प्राचीन भारतीय भाषा की याद दिलाता है और इसका उद्देश्य इसके पुनरुद्धार और रखरखाव को बढ़ावा देना है। भारत सरकार ने 1969 में हिंदू महीने श्रावण की पूर्णिमा के दिन रक्षा बंधन के अवसर पर विश्व संस्कृत दिवस मनाने का फैसला किया।

पेटीएम और एचडीएफसी बैंक में भुगतान समझौता
• एचडीएफसी बैंक और पेटीएम ने पेमेंट गेटवे, पॉइंट ऑफ सेल मशीनों और क्रेडिट उत्पादों में व्यापक समाधान बनाने के लिए साझेदारी की है। इसमें पेटीएम पोस्टपेड शामिल है जो बाद में खरीदें (बीएनपीएल) समाधान, ईज़ी ईएमआई और फ्लेक्सी पे है। साझेदारी बाजार में उन्नत स्मार्टहब समाधान भी प्रदान करेगी। एचडीएफसी बैंक स्मार्टहब समाधान एक एकीकृत मंच है जो व्यापारियों को उनकी सभी व्यावसायिक जरूरतों के भुगतान के लिए वन-स्टॉप समाधान की दुकान प्रदान करता है।

साइबर सुरक्षा मल्टी-डोनर ट्रस्ट फंड - विश्व बैंक समूह
• विश्व बैंक ने एक व्यवस्थित तरीके से साइबर सुरक्षा विकास एजेंडा को बेहतर ढंग से चलाने के लिए एक नया 'साइबर सुरक्षा मल्टी-डोनर ट्रस्ट फंड लॉन्च किया है। नए फंड को व्यापक डिजिटल डेवलपमेंट पार्टनरशिप (DDP) अम्ब्रेला प्रोग्राम के तहत एक संबद्ध ट्रस्ट फंड के रूप में विकसित किया गया है।
• विश्व बैंक ने फंड लॉन्च करने के लिए चार देशों, एस्टोनिया , जापान , जर्मनी और नीदरलैंड के साथ भागीदारी की है। इस नए फंड का मुख्य उद्देश्य वैश्विक ज्ञान के विकास, देश के आकलन, तकनीकी सहायता, क्षमता निर्माण और प्रशिक्षण के साथ-साथ बुनियादी ढांचे और प्रौद्योगिकी में आवश्यक निवेश के साथ विश्व बैंक के सदस्य देशों में साइबर और डिजिटल सुरक्षा क्षमता और योग्यता को बढ़ाना है।
