PM launches National Rural Swaraj campaign


●         Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today launched the National Rural Swaraj campaign in a public meeting in Madhya Pradesh Mandla.
●         During the next five years, he unveiled a roadmap for the entire development of the tribes.
●         The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of an LPG bottling plant of Indian Railway Corporation in Maneri of Mandla district.

Development projects will be started in Andaman and Nicobar and 26 islands of Lakshadweep

●         Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh today presided over the third meeting of the Island Development Agency (IDA) in Delhi today.
●         Island Development Agency marked the preparation of development plans in the islands (five islands-Minicoy, Bangaram, Thininkar, Cheriyam, Suheli) in four islands of Andaman and Nicobar Islands-Smith, Ross, Long, Aivis and Lakshadweep. Review progress.
 
Tourism Minister has given the letter of intent to 9 agencies for 22 monuments under the project adopt heritage.


●         In collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) and the States / Union Territories, the Tourism Ministry organized the third award ceremony of the project to adopt heritage in New Delhi today.
●         The letter of intent was given to the agencies selected under the fourth phase of the project.
●         Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge) Shri K. J. Alfons provided the letter of intent to 9 agencies for 22 monuments.

S. Jaishankar joins Tata Global as Global Officer


●         Tata Sons has appointed former Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar as the Chairman of Global Corporate Affairs of Tata Group.
●         In a release issued by Tata, it was said that Jaishankar will report to Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran.
●         In the new role, S. Jaishankar will see the Tata Group's global corporate affairs and international strategy development.
●         The International Office of Tata Sons will report them.

AFSPA removed after 27 years from Meghalaya


●         The Armed Forces (Privilege) law was completely withdrawn from Meghalaya, while in Arunachal Pradesh it will be applicable in eight districts and neighboring Myanmar in the eight districts of Assam border.
●         According to the information released by the Home Ministry, the lowest incidents of insurgency have taken place in Meghalaya in the year 2017.

Center approved airport for Javar airport
 
●         The Civil Aviation Ministry has given in-principle approval to the construction of the Javar airport in the meeting held on Monday .
●         Nodal Agency will now issue a bid document and issue global tenders in June. Tender process is to be completed in three months.
●         After this, the goal of the shilanyas has been kept in October.
 
 
Sita Temple will be built in Sitamarhi
 
●         To give a grand look to the birthplace of Mother Sita in Sitamarhi of Bihar, the state government is going to start a big plan.
●         Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday announced it in a program organized at the Thaura Dham Sitamarhi, the birthplace of Sita.Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi was also present in the program.
●         The Bihar government has given 20 acres of land for the restoration of Sita Temple .
 
 
Airtel's profit is at 15-year low
 
●         During the quarter ended March, 2018, the company's profit fell by 88 per cent to Rs 82.90 crore during the quarter, as compared to Rs 373 crore during the same quarter last year.
●         The company had a profit of Rs 305 crores during the quarter ended December, 2017.

Record growth in Dolphin population for the first time in the Mekong River


●         A report released by the World Wildlife Federation (WWF) and Cambodia Government said that the population of endangered dolphin species has been recorded for the first time in the Mekong River.
●         This increase has been seen for the first time in the last 20 years.
●         In the Mekong river, there has been an increase in the population of dolphins during the census which has increased from 80 to 92.
●         During the first census in 1997, its population was 200.
●         According to the census conducted in 2015, the number had decreased to just 80.

Spouse of H-1B visa holders will not get work permits
 
●         In the United States, the Trump Government is planning to end work permit for the life spouses of H-1B visa holders.
●         The Trump Administration is going to end the previous President Obama's term under which the work permit was issued to the spouse of H-1B visa holders.
●         That is, now the husband has an H-1B visa, the wife will not be allowed to work.
●         In the same way, if the wife has a visa, her husband will not get a work permit.

Apple's share dropped by 7%
 
●        IPhone maker Apple's market cap decreased by Rs 4 lakh crore in 2 days.
●        The shares of the company fell to 7% on Thursday and Friday amid reports of the demand for smartphones falling this year.
●        Apple's largest supplier company, Taiwan Semiconductor has said that due to weak demand from the mobile sector, its revenue will be affected in the second quarter.

Indians top in sending money back from abroad: World Bank Report


 ●         The World Bank said in the report released on April 23, 2018 that in the year 2017, Indians settled abroad sent 69 billion dollars to their families, which is 9.9 percent more than the previous year.
●         The amount sent in India is higher than the previous year but less than the $ 70.4 billion received in 2014.
●         China is at the second place after India, which has a remittance of $ 64 billion.
 

Reliance Jio's market share crosses 15 per cent
 
●         Reliance Jio added 80 lakh 74 thousand new customers in February.
●         With the addition of new customers, the company's market share crossed the 15 per cent mark.
●         In the month of February, Airtel had 40 lakhs 10 thousand, Vodafone 30 lakh 20 thousand and Idea added 40 lakh 40 thousand new customers.
 

Crude oil imports bill reach $ 105 billion

●         Thinktank made to fix the framework of National Policy on E-Commerce has decided to set up a task force to finalize the policy.
●         The first meeting of Think Tank was on Tuesday.
●         In the interaction with the reporters after the meeting, Rita Teaotia said that many issues related to e-commerce, including Taxation, Infrastructure, Investment, Technology Transfer, Data Protection, Regulation and Competition, were discussed. 

1800 companies did not pay penalty to SEBI
 
●         Market regulator SEBI has imposed penalties for more than 1800 companies and many cases on people, but they have not even paid it till date.
●         SEBI has now released their list.
●         These companies and people are charged with breaking the rules of the stock market, in exchange for which the penalty was imposed.
