734 youngsters shortlisted for complete scholarship under the khelo india talent development Scheme
●    Following the successful conduct of the Khelo India School Games, Sports Authority of India took another significant step towards the development of sports earlier today, cleared 734 players for a scholarship programme under Khelo India Talent Identification Development scheme. 
●    A talent identification committee was formed comprising Arjuna Awardees and Dronacharya Awardees to shortlist and propose the names of the beneficiaries to the High Powered Committee, which cleared the above numbers after due diligence.


Kalanidhi Maran loses claim of Rs 1,323 crore against Spice Jet
 
●        In the ongoing controversy over the share transfer of SpiceJet , its previous owner, Maran, has been shocked by the tribunal.
●        The arbitration tribunal has rejected the claim of Kalanidhi Maran and his company KAL Airways for the loss of Rs 1,323 crore from SpiceJet and for controlling stake in the company.
 
 
291 companies including Reliance, TCS will have to make changes in 'CMD' post
 
●        Due to the rule of market regulator Sebi, to exclude the role of chairman and managing director , 291 listed companies, including Reliance Industries, Infosys, TCS and Bharti Airtel, will have to appoint a non-executive chairperson in their board of directors until April 1, 2020.
●        At present, many companies have combined both the posts in the form of CMD , resulting in a confrontation situation in the board of directors and management.
 
 
GST rates will be reduced from 5 to 3: Sushil Modi
 

●        Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi has said that keeping in mind the convenience of consumers and industries, the number of tax slabs under Goods and Services Tax will be reduced from 5 to 3 in the coming days.
●        Modi also leads the high level ministerial panel.
●        Currently, 0, 5, 12, 18, 28 percent tax on goods and services is tax.
●        The highest tax slab now has only 35 products.
 

Jio and Airtel chief technology officers resign
 
●        The chief technology officer of telecom companies Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel have resigned from their respective companies.
●        Reliance Jio's CTO Jagbir Singh company's 4G services were associated with him before the start.
●        Earlier, Singh had worked in Samsung and for nearly a decade in Airtel.
 
 
44 lakh people got jobs in organized sector till 9 May: EPFO
●        According to the Employees Provident Fund Organization , 44,74,859 new jobs were given in the organized sector during the month of September last year .
●        However, the organization has reduced the number of new registered members from September 2017 to April 2018 from 41,26,138 to 37,31,251.
●        According to the figures released by the EPF on Friday, the highest number of 7,43,608 new members were added in May during the last 8 months.


Indian Solar Cell will soon give power to satellites in space 
 
●        The Indian Space Research Organization has stepped up one more step ahead of Modi Government's 'Make in India' policy.
●        ISRO has bought the technology of Space Solar Cells from the US and in the country, this country will now be able to make desi solar cells with the help of this technology.
●        They supply power to any satellites in the solar cell space so that they can do all their work smoothly.

Sachin Rathi and Deepak Poonia won gold at the Junior Asian Championships
●        In the junior Asian championship , Indian wrestler Sachin Rathi and Deepak Poonia made their names in the gold medal in their respective categories.
●        Sachin Rathi won the medal in the 74 kg weight category freestyle wrestling by defeating the Mongol wrestler Bat-Erdene Byambasuren.
●        Apart from Sachin and Deepak, three other Indian wrestlers have won silver medal in the competition.
 
  
Jeevan and Divij Sharan out of Newport ATP Tournament

 
●        Divij Sharan and Jeevan Nedun Jianjian lost in the semi-finals of the ATP Hall of Fame Open tournament with their partners, which ended the Indian challenge in the doubles category of the tournament being played in New Port.
●        Second-seeded Divij and Jackson Witro beat Jonton Ehrlich and Artem Sitak to easily 6-3, 6-4.
●        Life and Austin Cristis duo lost in a close encounter with Marcelo Arevalo and Miguel Angel Reyes - Varela.


Indian women and men's volleyball team won silver and bronze medal
 
●        In the volleyball, the women and men team of India touched a new height in the BRICS Games.
●        In the BRICS Games held in Johannesburg, where the women's team made its name silver medal, the men's team named the Bronze Medal.

●        All India Football Federation has chosen Player of the Year 2017 , the captain of the football team, Sunil Chhetri.
●        Recently, Regional 100 International matches were made by India's second player.
●        Prior to the region, Baichung Bhutia has played 100 international matches for India.
●        Thapa played a key role in India's victory in the four-nation International Cup.

New York schools will study Sikh religion
 
●        In the US, more than 70 percent of the citizens will not be taught Sikh religion , while schools in New York province will be taught about this religion and its traditions.
●        According to the American media, NGO United Sikhs have tied up with New York's Education Department.
●        Its purpose is to give American students information about Sikhism.

China build economic corridor with Myanmar
 
●        On the lines of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, China has reached close to compromising with Myanmar to build an economic corridor.
●        Once the project is launched, a large amount of Chinese funds will reach Myanmar, which can weaken India's influence on its eastern neighboring country.
●        On Wednesday, a senior Myanmar official, Director General of Investment and Company Administration, You aang nong o said that both the countries are going to sign an MoU on the construction of the financial corridor soon.
 
 
 Hebrew national language of Israel
 
●        The Israeli parliament passed a law on Thursday, which would officially become the land of Jews .
●        After having this law, it is now feared that there will be a large degree of discrimination with the Arab citizens living in the country.
●        In Parliament, 55 out of 62 people voted in favor of this and Hebru has been declared as the national language of the country.
●        Arabic has now been granted special status only.
 
 
China created unmanned meteorological center near Arunachal-Tibet border
 
●        China has set up an unmanned automatic weather monitoring center in Tibet near Arunachal Pradesh border.
●        In the case of 'regional conflicts', this station has been established by China for weather help in the operation of the country's army, planes and missiles.
●        This center has been established in Yumayi of Lahinch under the Shanan range of Tibet.
●        Yumi population, with nine houses and 32 residents, is China's smallest township in terms of population.

Decreasing number of fighter planes
 
●        Indian Air Force has started working on a new plan in view of the rapidly declining fighter squadron and delays in the arrival of new aircraft.
●        Air Force is now trying to take the retired jets retired by different countries so that their spare parts can be used in the Indian Air Force aircraft currently operating.
●        This Air Force effort has been successful in the UK-made Jaguar fighter planes, which will help maintain the number of fighter planes currently employed using the components of old aircraft from Oman, France and the UK.
