CCI has given conditional clearance to acquire Monsanto by Bayer AG
●        In connection with its proposed acquisition of Monsanto Company on 7th August, 2017, the Indian Competitiveness Commission received a notice from Bayer Ektinelshailshift.
●        Acquired Bayer is a German Stock Corporation, and is also a life science company, which has proficiency in healthcare and agriculture sectors.
 

Shillong (Meghalaya) was selected as 100th Smart City
●        Shillong, capital of Meghalaya, has been selected as 100th Smart City.
●        This city has been selected only after estimating the proposal submitted by Shillong.
●        So far 99 smart cities were selected in four rounds of related competition and today's announcement has completed the process of selecting 100 smart cities under smart city mission.
 
 
RK Singh inaugurated solar plant at Gurudwara Rakabganj Sahib
●        Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy, RK Singh said that India is long in the field of renewable energy and we will surpass the target of renewable energy of 175 gigawes by 2022.
●        RK Singh was inaugurating the solar plant of 1500 KWP capacity developed by the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee at Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib, New Delhi today.

●        A team of scientists and engineers under the leadership of Professor Abhijit Chakraborty of Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad, has discovered a sub-saturn planet or super Neptune-shaped planet near a star like Sun.
●        This planet has been named EPIC 211945201 B or K2-236B.
●    The Research work has appeared online in Astronomical Journal of the American Astronomical Society and published by IOP publishing.

Gujarat government announces Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Policy
 
●        The Gujarat Government announced the Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Policy-2018 on June 21, 2018 so that solar power projects can be installed at one place along with wind.
●        Gujarat has taken a concrete step towards pollution free clean electricity generation.
●    In order to produce solar and wind power together from the same site in the state and to provide encouragement support for this, the state government has implemented this policy for five years.
●    Under this, the wind power project can also be set up in the land of the existing solar power project using a transmission line.
●    In case of similar wind power project, solar power unit may be established.

PM will lay the foundation stone of commerce building
 
●        Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for a new office complex 'Chamber of Commerce' for the Department of Commerce of the Government of India on June 22, 2018.
●        According to Central Vizeta standards, the area of this building is 19233.745 square meters.

Haryana Government launches 7 Star Gram Panchayat Rainbow Scheme
