Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu Inaugurates International Technical Seminar on Global Trends in Track Technologies & fast paced construction organised by Institution of Permanent Way Engineers
Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu Inaugurated an International Technical Seminar of the Institution of Permanent Way Engineers (I.P.W.E)(India) today i.e. 20th July, at New Delhi.
● The topic of the seminar was Global Trends in Track Technologies and Fast Paced Construction. Chairman, Railway Board, Shri A. K. Mital, Member Engineering, Railway Board Shri Aditya Kumar Mital and other Railway Board Members and senior officials were also present on the occasion.
● 15 speakers including International experts spoke on systems of High Speed Rail viz. Japanese “Shinkansen”, SNCF (France) and Spain High Speed Rails(HSR) besides history of track managements systems, track components, rail fasteners etc. and technological standards adopted on HSR.
● The seminar was organised in four sessions viz. Global Trends in Track Technologies Session I & Session II, Fast Paced Construction Session III & IV.
● The Technical Session also covered Technologies for Fast Paced Construction, Project Delivery Methods in countries like Japan, Austria, USA besides the methods being adopted by track engineers in the on-going Dedicated Freight Corridor besides mechanised track laying machines.
● Shri Prabhu also released the Business Plan of Engineering Department of Indian Railway, a RDSO handbook on Construction of Earthquake resistant engineering besides launching Diploma in Engineering by IPWE in keeping with Skill Development Mission of Indian Railways.
Union Steel Minister launches dedicated E-Portal for online sales of steel products in North Easetrn Region
Union Steel Minister Shri Birender Singh today launched a dedicated e-portal for online sales of steel products by RINL through MSTC Metal Mandi, in North Eastern Region of the country.
● Minister of State for Steel, Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Secretary, Steel, Dr. Aruna Sharma, CMD, RINL, Shri P.Madhusudan and CMD, MSTC Shri B.B.Singh were among those present on the occasion.
● In his address Shri Birender Singh remarked that the E-Portal is an excellent example of synergy between ‘Digital India’ and ‘Make in India’ missions initiated by Hon’ble Prime Minister.
● He further added, “In February this year, when we set up a coordination committee for pooling of resources between PSUs, we had potential for projects like this in mind.
● I am happy that this project is being started and it should serve as an example for more such innovative and out-of-the-box projects.
● The Ministry had organized first regional conference for enhancing steel consumption in North-East.
● The region is being given top priority by our Government and lot of new projects are being started and executed there.
● Our steel companies must tap this market and serve their steel needs. Let us try to find out more such areas where our PSUs can work together for achieving economies of scale, reaching new markets and sharing of best practices.”
Ministry of Rural Development to launch Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana
The Ministry of Rural Development will launch a new sub-scheme under Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) which will be named as “Aajeevika Grameen Express Yojana (AGEY)”.
● Replying to a question in the Lok Sabha, the Minister of State for Rural Development Shri Ram Kripal Yadav said that the main objectives of AGEY are to provide an alternative source of livelihoods to members of Self Help Groups (SHGs) under DAY-NRLM by facilitating them to operate public transport services in backward rural areas.
● This will provide safe, affordable and community monitored rural transport services like e-rickshaws, 3 and 4 wheeler motorised transport vehicles to connect remote villages with key services and amenities including access to markets, education and health for the overall economic development of the area.
● The Minister said that the sub-scheme will be implemented in 250 blocks in the country on a pilot basis for a period of 3 years from 2017-18 to 2019-20.
● The States have been informed about the number of blocks allocated to them to take up this sub-scheme in the pilot phases.
● One of the options proposed to be given under the sub-scheme is that the Community Based Organisation (CBO) will provide interest free loan from its own corpus to Self Help Group member for purchase of the vehicle.
Global Centre for Nuclear Energy Partnership
Project for setting up of the Global Centre for Nuclear Energy Partnership (GCNEP) in India was sanctioned during September, 2010 with a proposal for construction in phases.
● The construction activities of Phase-I buildings have been completed and the construction activities for the next phase is being taken up.
● The facility is operational in the buildings completed in Phase-I.
● Setting up of the facility is being done indigenously by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).
● This information was provided by the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Development of North-Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today.
Lok Sabha passes Indian Institutes of Information Technology Bill, 2017
The Lok Sabha passed the Indian Institute of Information Technology Public Private Partnership (IIIT-PPP) Bill, 2017 to allow 15 IIITs established on a PPP model to grant degrees and get statutory status.
● The bill also seeks to grant institute of national importance status to IIITs on the lines of the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs).
● The Union Government had initiated the opening of 20 IIITs with private partnership of which 15 are already operational.
● These engineering and tech schools were established at a cost of Rs. 128 crore each.
● The centre had contributed 50% of the amount, states 35% and private partners remaining 15% (i.e. 50:35:15 ratio).
● However, these institutes were not been eligible to grant degrees.
Ram Nath Kovind elected as 14th President of India with huge margin
NDA Presidential candidate Ram Nath Kovind on 20 July 2017 won the Presidential elections.
● With this, he becomes the 14th President (in person) of India.
● He won the presidential election by defeating the opposition candidate Meira Kumari by 1086 votes.
● In an electoral college, Ram Nath Kovind secured 2930 votes valued 702044, while, Meira Kumari managed to get only 1844 votes valued 367340.
● The victory of Ram Nath Kovind was announced by Lok Sabha Secretary General and Returning officer Anoop Mishra.
● The counting of the votes for the Presidential election was done at the Parliament House complex. The results were declared after 8-round counting of the votes.
● President elect Ram Nath Kovind will be administered oath of office by Chief Justice of India on 25 July 2017 in a special function at the Central hall of Parliament.
UIDAI launches mAadhaar app for syncing Aadhaar data on mobile phone
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on 19 July 2017 launched the mAadhaar app for syncing Aadhaar data on the mobile phone, a move that will negate the need to carry the Aadhaar card in wallets.
● At present, the mAadhaar app is only available on Android phones and can be downloaded on the Google Play Store.
● Once you register in mAadhar app, your Aadhaar card profile including phone number, address and other details get stored on the app.
● The app let users share their Aadhaar profile and data with third-party applications through NFC, QR codes, Barcodes or even through email.
● In order to share details, there is a sharing of QR code and eKYC data by Aadhaar Number holder system.
● Before downloading the Aadhaar app on Android phone, users need to make sure the mobile number on the smartphone is the same as the one linked to Aadhaar card.

सुरेश प्रभाकर प्रभु ने ‘ट्रैक प्रौद्योगिकियां और त्वरित गति के निर्माण की वैश्विक परिपाटियां’ विषय पर अंतर्राष्ट्रीय तकनीकी संगोष्ठीा का उद्घाटन किया
रेलमंत्री श्री सुरेश प्रभाकर प्रभु ने आज (20 जुलाई) नई दिल्ली में इंस्टीट्यूशन ऑफ परमानेंट वे इंजीनियर्स (आईपीडब्ल्यूई) (भारत) की एक अंतर्राष्ट्रीय तकनीकी संगोष्ठी का उद्घाटन किया।
● इस संगोष्ठी का विषय ‘ट्रैक प्रौद्योगिकियां और त्वरित गति के निर्माण की वैश्विक परिपाटियां’ था।
● इस अवसर पर रेलवे बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष, श्री ए.के. मितल, सदस्य इंजीनियरिंग, रेलवे बोर्ड श्री आदित्य कुमार मित्तल और रेलवे बोर्ड के अन्य सदस्य और वरिष्ठ अधिकारी भी उपस्थित थ।
● अंतर्राष्ट्रीय विशेषज्ञों सहित 15 वक्ताओं ने हाई स्पीड रेल यथा जापानी ‘’शिंकान्सेन’’ एसएनसीएफ (फ्रांस) और स्पेन हाई स्पीड रेल्स (एचएसआर) के अतिरिक्त ट्रैक्स के प्रबंधन की प्रणालियों के इतिहास, ट्रैक्स के संघटकों, रेल फास्टनर्स आदि तथा एचएसआर में अपनाए गए प्रौद्योगिकीय मानकों के बारे में अपने विचार प्रकट किए।
● संगोष्ठी का आयोजन चार सत्रों यथा - ट्रैक्स संबंधी प्रौद्योगिकियों में वैश्विक परिपाटियां सत्र-1 और सत्र-2, त्वरित गति के निर्माण सत्र 3 और 4 में किया गया।
● तकनीकी सत्र के अंतर्गत जापान, ऑस्ट्रिया, अमरीका जैसे देशों में त्वरित गति के निर्माण के लिए प्रौद्योगिकियां, प्रोजेक्ट डिलीवरी मैथॅड्स के अलावा वर्तमान में बिछाये जा रहे समर्पित फ्रेट कॉरिडोर में ट्रैक कार्य पद्धतियां इंजीनियरों द्वारा यांत्रिक तरीके से ट्रैक बिछाने की मशीनों के अतिरिक्त अपनायी जाने वाली शामिल थी।
● इस अवसर पर श्री प्रभु ने भारतीय रेलवे के अभियांत्रिकी विभाग की व्याiपार योजना, भूकंपरोधी अभियांत्रिकी के निर्माण पर आरडीएसओ हैंडबुक, जारी की।
● इसके अलावा उन्होंने भारतीय रेलवे के कौशल विकास मिशन के मद्देनजर आईपीडब्ल्यूई द्वारा इंजीनियरिंग में डिप्लोमा का शुभारंभ किया।
केन्द्रीय इस्पात मंत्री ने पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र में इस्पात उत्पादों की ऑनलाइन बिक्री के लिए समर्पित ई-पोर्टल लांच किया
केन्द्रीय इस्पात मंत्री श्री बीरेन्द्र सिंह ने देश के पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र में एमएसटीसी मेटल मंडी के जरिए आरआईएनएल द्वारा इस्पात उत्पादों की ऑनलाइन बिक्री के लिए आज एक समर्पित ई-पोर्टल लांच किया।
● इस अवसर पर इस्पात राज्य मंत्री श्री विष्णु देव साई, इस्पात सचिव डॉ. अरुणा शर्मा, आरआईएनएल के सीएमडी श्री पी. मधुसूदन और एमएसटीसी के सीएमडी श्री बी.बी. सिंह भी उपस्थित थे।
● श्री बीरेन्द्र सिंह ने अपने संबोधन में कहा कि ई-पोर्टल माननीय प्रधानमंत्री द्वारा शुरू किए गए ‘डिजिटल इंडिया’ और ‘मेक इन इंडिया’ मिशन के बीच तालमेल का उत्कृष्ट उदाहरण है।
● उन्होंने कहा, ‘इस साल फरवरी में जब हमने सार्वजनिक क्षेत्र के उपक्रमों (पीएसयू) के बीच संसाधनों की पूलिंग के लिए एक समन्वय समिति गठित की थी तो हमारे मन में इस तरह की परियोजनाओं के लिए व्यापक संभावनाएं थीं।
● मुझे खुशी है कि यह परियोजना शुरू की जा रही है और यह इस तरह की अभिनव परियोजनाओं का एक अच्छा उदाहरण होना चाहिए। मंत्रालय ने पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र में इस्पात की खपत बढ़ाने के लिए प्रथम क्षेत्रीय सम्मेलन आयोजित किया था।
● हमारी सरकार इस क्षेत्र को सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता दे रही है और वहां अनेक नई परियोजनाएं शुरू एवं क्रियान्वित की जा रही हैं।
● हमारी इस्पात कम्पनियों को इस बाजार का दोहन अवश्य ही करना चाहिए और इसके साथ ही वहां की इस्पात जरूरतों की पूर्ति करनी चाहिए।
● हमें ऐसे कई और क्षेत्रों की तलाश करनी चाहिए जहां हमारे पीएसयू उत्पादन स्तर बढ़ाने, नये बाजारों की तलाश करने और सर्वोत्तम तौर-तरीकों को साझा करने के लिए आपस में मिल-जुलकर काम कर सकें।’
ग्रामीण विकास मंत्रालय ‘आजीविका ग्रामीण एक्सप्रेस योजना’ शुरू करेगा
ग्रामीण विकास मंत्रालय, दीनदयाल अंत्योदय योजना- राष्ट्रीय ग्रामीण आजीविका मिशन (डीएवाई-एनआरएलएम) के तहत एक नई उप-योजना की शुरूआत करेगा, जिसका नाम "आजीविका ग्रामीण एक्सप्रेस योजना" (एजीवाई) होगा।
● लोकसभा में एक प्रश्न का उत्तर देते हुए ग्रामीण विकास राज्य मंत्री श्री राम कृपाल यादव ने कहा कि इस योजना के मुख्य उद्देश्य डीएवाई-एनआरएलएम के तहत स्वयं सहायता समूहों (एसएचजी) के सदस्यों को आजीविका के वैकल्पिक स्रोत उपलब्ध कराना है।
● इसके तहत उन्हें पिछड़े ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में सार्वजनिक परिवहन सेवाएं परिचालित करने की सुविधा प्रदान की जाएगी।
● इससे ई-रिक्शा, 3 और 4 व्हीलर मोटर परिवहन वाहनों जैसी सुरक्षित और सस्ती सामुदायिक निगरानी वाली ग्रामीण परिवहन सेवाएं उपलब्ध होंगी, जिनसे क्षेत्र के समग्र आर्थिक विकास के लिए दूरदराज के गांवों को बाजार, शिक्षा और स्वास्थ्य जैसी मुख्य सेवाओं और सुविधाओं से जोड़ा जा सकेगा।
● मंत्री ने कहा कि यह उप-योजना 2017-18 से 2019-20 तक 3 वर्षों की अवधि के लिए एक पायलट आधार पर देश के 250 ब्लॉकों में लागू की जाएगी। राज्यों को पायलट चरणों में इस उप-योजना को लागू करने के लिए उन्हें आवंटित ब्लॉकों की संख्या के बारे में सूचित किया गया है।
● इस उप-योजना के तहत दिए जाने वाले प्रस्तावित विकल्पों में से एक सामुदायिक आधार संगठन (सीबीओ) है जो अपनी निधि से वाहन खरीदने के लिए स्वयं सहायता समूह के सदस्यों को ब्याज मुक्त ऋण प्रदान करेगा।
परमाणु ऊर्जा भागीदारी के लिए वैश्विक केन्द्र
भारत में परमाणु ऊर्जा भागीदारी के लिए वैश्विक केन्द्र (जीसीएनईपी) की स्थापना करने संबंधी परियोजना को मंजूरी सितम्बर 2010 में दी गई थी।
● इसके तहत विभिन्न चरणों में इसके निर्माण का प्रस्ताव रखा गया था।
● चरण-1 के तहत विभिन्न इमारतों की निर्माण गतिविधियां पूरी हो गई हैं और अगले चरण की निर्माण गतिविधियों पर काम शुरू किया जा रहा है।
● चरण-1 के तहत जिन भवनों का निर्माण पूरा हो चुका है उनमें संबंधित सुविधा या इकाई परिचालन में आ गई है।
● परमाणु ऊर्जा विभाग (डीएई) द्वारा इस सुविधा अथवा इकाई की स्थापना स्वदेश में ही की जा रही है।
● यह जानकारी केन्द्रीय पूर्वोत्तर क्षेत्र विकास राज्य मंत्री (स्वतंत्र प्रभार), पीएमओ, कार्मिक, लोक शिकायत एवं पेंशन, परमाणु ऊर्जा और अंतरिक्ष राज्य मंत्री डॉ. जितेन्द्र सिंह ने आज राज्यसभा में एक लिखित प्रश्न के जवाब में दी।
लोकसभा द्वारा सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान विधेयक पारित
लोकसभा ने भारतीय सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थानों (आईआईआईटी) संबंधित विधेयक 19 जुलाई 2017 को पारित किया. यह विधेयक सार्वजनिक-निजी भागीदारी (पीपीपी मॉडल) से स्थापित किये जाने वाले संस्थानों से सम्बंधित है.
● विधेयक के कानून बनने पर देश के 15 आईआईआईटी संस्थानों को डिग्री देने का अधिकार मिल जाएगा.
● लोकसभा में मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्री प्रकाश जावड़ेकर ने बताया कि सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थानों को राष्ट्रीय महत्व का दर्जा मिलने से छात्रों को दी जाने वाली शिक्षा का स्तर सुधरेगा एवं उन्हें रोज़गार के बेहतर अवसर प्राप्त होंगे.
● इस विधेयक पर अमल के बाद उद्योगों की आवश्यकताओं के अनुसार पाठ्यक्रम तैयार हो सकेंगे, जिससे मोदी सरकार के स्किल इंडिया, स्टार्टअप इंडिया, स्टैंडअप इंडिया और डिजिटल इंडिया जैसे अभियान सफल होंगे.
● केंद्र सरकार ने पीपीपी मॉडल के इस संस्थान के लिए केंद्र सरकार, राज्य सरकार और निजी क्षेत्र की भागीदारी क्रमश: 55 प्रतिशत, 35 प्रतिशत और 15 प्रतिशत निर्धारित की गई है.
● सरकार ने इन शिक्षण संस्थानों में रिक्त पदों को भरने के लिए व्यवस्था तय करने की कवायद की है जल्द ही प्राध्यापकों के तीन सौ रिक्त पदों को भरा जाएगा.
● मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्री ने कहा कि शिक्षा राजनीति का नहीं, बल्कि राष्ट्रनीति का विषय है और इसके लिए सबको मिलकर काम करना चाहिए.
रामनाथ कोविंद ने दो गुने से अधिक मतों से जीत दर्ज की
भारतीय जनता पार्टी के दलित नेता रामनाथ कोविंद देश के 14वें राष्ट्रपति निर्वाचित हुए.
● देश के राष्ट्रपति पद हेतु 17 जुलाई 2017 को मतदान किया गया. रामनाथ कोविंद ने 3.34 लाख मतों के अंतर से जीत दर्ज की.
● उन्होंने विपक्ष की उम्मीदवार मीरा कुमार को हराया. मीरा कुमार को 367314 मत हासिल हुए.
● रामनाथ कोविंद को 702044 मत मिले. रामनाथ कोविंद को 66 फीसदी वोट मिले. विपक्ष की उम्मीदवार मीरा कुमार को 34 फीसदी वोट मिले.
● निर्वाचन अधिकारी मिश्रा के अनुसार वर्ष 2017 में देश के नए राष्ट्रपति के चुनाव हेतु करीब 99 फीसदी मतदान हुआ.
● इस चुनाव में राज्यसभा और लोकसभा के सांसदों के अलावा राज्य विधानसभाओं के सदस्य ही मतदान करने का अधिकार रखते हैं.
● इससे पूर्व भी कई बार राष्ट्रपति पद हेतु चुनाव हुए हैं, जिनमें कांटे का मुकाबला हुआ है या फिर काफी भारी अंतर से जीत हुई है. इसी पर एक विस्तृत विवरण-
● वर्ष 1957 में प्रथम राष्ट्रपति का कार्यकाल खत्म होने से पूर्व ही दूसरे राष्ट्रपति का चुनाव आयोजित कराया गया.
● इस चुनाव में राजेंद्र प्रसाद को 459698 वोट मिले थे, जबकि विपक्षी उम्मीदवार नारायण दास को 2000 और हरिराम चौधरी को मात्र 2672 वोट ही मिल सके.
● चुनाव के बाद डॉ. राजेंद्र प्रसाद लगातार दूसरी बार देश के राष्ट्रपति बने.
यूनीक आइडेंटिफिकेशन अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया ने एम आधार ऐप लॉन्च किया
330x340 यूनीक आइडेंटिफिकेशन अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया ने एम आधार ऐप (एक मोबाइल इंटरफेस) लॉन्च किया है.
● यह ऐप एंड्रॉएड प्लेटफॉर्म पर चलेगा. नए एम आधार ऐप के माध्यम से देश में डिजिटल इंडिया मुहिम को आगे बढ़ाने में अत्यंत सहयोग मिलेगा.
● एम आधार ऐप को यूनीक आइडेंटिफिकेशन अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया ने डेवलेप किया है.
● इस ऐप में जरूरी जानकारी जैसे नाम, जन्मतिथि, लिंग और पता के साथ-साथ यूज़र का फोटोग्राफ भी होगा.
● इसके अलावा यह एक आधार नंबर से लिंक होगा
● एमआधार ऐप अभी सिर्फ एंड्रॉयड यूज़र के लिए ही उपलब्ध है. एम आधार ऐप को गूगल प्ले स्टोर से डाउनलोड किया जा सकता है.
● ऐप डाउनलोड के बाद यूजर्स को पेपर-फॉर्मेट में 'आधार कार्ड' कैरी करने की जरूरत नहीं होगी.
● इस ऐप को एप्पल आईओएस वर्जन पर भी लॉन्च किया जाएगा.
● इस ऐप को यूज करने के लिए यूजर्स को रजिस्ट्रेशन करना जरूरी है.
● अगर नंबर रजिस्टर्ड नहीं है तो करीबी आधार एनरोलमेंट सेंटर में जाकर यूजर्स रजिस्टर्ड करवा सकते हैं.
