• The Printing process for the Union Budget 2020-21 began with the Halwa ceremony in North Block on January 20, 2020.

• At present, all the officials involved in the preparation of Union Budget 2020 have been subject to “Lock-in” to avoid any prospective leak of information.

• The 3rd Edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha was held on January 20, 2020 at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi.

First squadron of Sukhoi-30 aircraft inducted into Indian Air Force
• The first squadron of Sukhoi-30 MKI aircraft was inducted into the Indian Air Force at its Thanjavur base, Tamil Nadu on January 20, 2020.
• The Sukhoi-30 aircraft has been integrated with the supersonic BrahMos missiles.
• This 222-squadron known as the Tigersharks will serve as a platform for conducting aerial and maritime missions in the Indian Ocean Region.
NDRF Celebrates its 15th Raising Day
• The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) celebrated its 15th Raising Day on 19th January. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), a specialized multi-skilled, humanitarian force of the country, came into existence on January 19th, 2006 has been playing a vital role in Disaster Management and Community awareness for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in the country.
• The NDRF has earned good name and fame nationally and internationally with its selfless service and unmatched professionalism in disaster management. NDRF has saved more than One lakh lives in its 3100 operations and rescued/evacuated over 6.7 lakh people during disasters. A workshop was also be conducted on ‘Urban flooding & challenges’ and ‘Biological Emergencies & New Technology in Disaster Management’.

Coronavirus in China: 139 new cases reported so far
• The outbreak of deadly novel coronavirus has now spread to Beijing and Shenzhen cities of China.
• So far, the authorities have reported a total of 198 confirmed cases of coronavirus containment and death of 3 people.
• A few cases of coronavirus infection have been reported from Thailand and Japan as well.

‘Castle of Dreams’ gets Best Film Award at DIFF
• The Iranian film ‘Castle of Dreams’ directed by Reza Mirakarimi won the Best Film Award in Asian Competition section of the 18th Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF). The film also won the Best Director Award.
• Indian film ‘Finally Love’ directed by Anjan Dutt bagged Best Audience Award in Cinema of the World Category. Sri Lankan director Prasanna Vithanage’s film ‘Children of the Sun’ won Special Jury Award.

APEDA sets up 186 Agri products testing laboratories
• 20 January 2020 Current Affairs:Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) has added 135 laboratories to existing 51 recognized laboratories. With this addition of laboratories, APEDA recognition of laboratories has reached 186 laboratories in India.
• The move is significant as the Laboratory testing requirements are crucial in the Agri export supply chain. The number of laboratories added includes 35 in Maharashtra, 23 in Gujarat, 10 in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, 23 in Tamil Nadu 17 in and Karnataka.
• APEDA introduced a policy decision for the simplification of APEDA recognition of laboratories to increase the laboratory network further. It has been decided that the laboratories which are National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) accredited will be recognized by APEDA. These laboratories will be added in the network of APEDA recognition laboratories.

Union Minister Arjun Munda was elected as the President of AAI
• Union Minister Arjun Munda was elected as the President of the Archery Association of India (AAI) elections. Arjun Munda defeated his rival BVP Rao by a margin of 34-18 votes.
• Munda was elected for a full tenure of four years. The AAI elections were held according to the Delhi High Court order.
• The election was held in the presence of an observer each from World Archery (WA), Sports Ministry and Indian Olympic Association (IOA).
GoI appoints Nripendra Misra as chairman of NMML
• Nripendra Misra has been appointed chairperson of the executive council of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML). The Executive Council of the NMML has been reconstituted and it will be now chaired by Mr Misra. Dr A Surya Prakash, chairperson of the Prasar Bharati board, will be the council’s vice-chairperson.
• The Nehru Memorial Museum & Library (NMML) established in the memory of Jawaharlal Nehru (1889 – 1964) is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

• केंद्रीय आम बजट 2020-21 की बजट मुद्रण प्रक्रिया शुरू होने के उपलक्ष्य में हलवा समारोह का 20 जनवरी, 2020 केंद्रीय वित्त और कॉर्पोरेट कार्य मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण की उपस्थिति में नॉर्थ ब्लॉक में आयोजन किया गया।
• केंद्रीय वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण द्वारा आम बजट 2020-21, 1 फरवरी 2020 को पेश किया जाएगा।
• बजट की गोपनीयता बनाए रखने के लिए, बजट बनाने में शामिल पदाधिकारियों का "लॉक-इन" है।

• परिक्षा पे चर्चा का तीसरा संस्करण 20 जनवरी, 2020 को नई दिल्ली के तालकटोरा स्टेडियम में आयोजित किया गया था।
• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 2000 से अधिक छात्रों के साथ बातचीत की जो बोर्ड परीक्षा 2020 के लिए उपस्थित होंगे।

सुखोई -30 विमानों के पहले स्क्वाड्रन को भारतीय वायु सेना में शामिल किया गया
• सुखोई -30 MKI विमान का पहला स्क्वाड्रन 20 जनवरी, 2020 को अपने तंजावुर बेस, तमिलनाडु में भारतीय वायु सेना में शामिल किया गया था।
• सुखोई -30 विमान को सुपरसोनिक ब्रह्मोस मिसाइलों के साथ एकीकृत किया गया है।
• आधुनिक तकनीकों से लैस यह विमान सभी मौसम में वृहद-भूमिका निभाने में सक्षम है। एक रक्षा विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार 222 स्कवाड्रन ‘टाइगरशार्क' की तैनाती से भारतीय वायुसेना की रक्षा क्षमता बढ़ेगी और सामरिक रूप से महत्वपूर्ण हिंद महासागर क्षेत्र में निगरानी सुनिश्चित हो सकेगी।
NDRF ने मनाया अपना 15वां स्थापना दिवस
• राष्ट्रीय आपदा मोचन बल (National Disaster Response Force) ने 19 जनवरी को अपने 15 वें स्थापना दिवस के रूप में मनाया। राष्ट्रीय आपदा मोचन बल (NDRF), देश का एक विशेष बहु-कुशल बल हैं, जो 19 जनवरी, 2006 को अस्तित्व में आया था, जिसने आपदा मोचन अभियानों में मानव जीवन और राष्ट्रीय संपत्ति को बचाने में सराहनीय भूमिका निभाई हैं।
• NDRF ने अपनी निस्वार्थ सेवा और आपदा प्रबंधन में बेजोड़ व्यावसायिकता के साथ राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर अच्छा नाम और प्रसिद्धि अर्जित की है। एनडीआरएफ ने अपने 3100 ऑपरेशनों में एक लाख से अधिक लोगों की जान बचाई है और आपदा के दौरान 6.7 लाख लोगों को सुरक्षित निकाला है। इस अवसर पर 'शहरी बाढ़ और चुनौतियों' और 'आपदा प्रबंधन में जैव प्रौद्योगिकी और नई तकनीक' पर एक कार्यशाला भी आयोजित की गई।

• चीन में कोरोना वायरस का प्रकोप, कोरोना वायरस से तीन लोगों की मौत की हुई पुष्टि, वुहान में प्रभावितों की संख्या 198 हुई, WHO ने कोरोना वायरस से सुरक्षा के लिए दी सलाह।
• चीन के साथ ही जापान, थाईलैंड, सिंगापुर, मलेशिया में कोरोना वायरस के मरीजों की तस्दीक हुई है।

• ढाका अंतर्राष्ट्रीय फिल्म महोत्सव (DIFF) के 18 वें संस्करण में रजा मीरारिमी द्वारा निर्देशित ईरानी फिल्म ‘Castle of Dreams’ ने एशियाई श्रेणी में सर्वश्रेष्ठ फिल्म का पुरस्कार जीता हैं। साथ फिल्म ने सर्वश्रेष्ठ निर्देशक का पुरस्कार भी अपने नाम किया हैं।

APEDA ने 186 एग्री उत्पादों के परीक्षण प्रयोगशालाओं की स्थापना की
• सरकार ने सोमवार को कहा कि कृषि और प्रसंस्कृत खाद्य उत्पाद निर्यात विकास प्राधिकरण (APEDA) ने 135 जोड़ दिए हैं प्रयोगशालाओं निर्यातकों को सक्षम करने के लिए मौजूदा 51 मान्यता प्राप्त प्रयोगशालाओं के लिए प्रयोगशालाओं तक आसान पहुंच है परिक्षण निर्यात की। वाणिज्य मंत्रालय और उद्योग मंत्रालय ने एक विज्ञप्ति में कहा, 'इस पहल के साथ, प्रयोगशालाओं की एपीईडीए की मान्यता देश भर में 186 प्रयोगशालाओं तक पहुंच गई है।'
• राज्यों में प्रयोगशालाओं की संख्या में वृद्धि हुई है। इसमें 35 शामिल हैं महाराष्ट्र, 23 में गुजरात, आंध्र प्रदेश और तेलंगाना में 10, तमिलनाडु में 23 और कर्नाटक में 17 हैं। एग्री एक्सपोर्ट सप्लाई चेन में प्रयोगशाला परीक्षण आवश्यकताएं महत्वपूर्ण हैं।
• प्रयोगशाला नेटवर्क को और अधिक बढ़ाने के लिए, प्राधिकरण ने प्रयोगशालाओं की मान्यता को आसान बनाने के लिए एक नीतिगत निर्णय लिया है। मंत्रालय ने कहा, “यह तय किया गया है कि जिन प्रयोगशालाओं को एनएबीएल से मान्यता प्राप्त है, उन्हें APEDA द्वारा मान्यता दी जाएगी और उन्हें APEDA मान्यता प्रयोगशालाओं के नेटवर्क में जोड़ा जाएगा।”

अर्जुन मुंडा बने तीरंदाजी एसोसिएशन ऑफ इंडिया (AAI) के अध्यक्ष
• केंद्रीय मंत्री अर्जुन मुंडा आर्चरी एसोसिएशन ऑफ इंडिया (AAI) के नए अध्यक्ष बन गए हैं। मुंडा ने विपक्षी बीवीपी राव को 34-18 वोटों के अंतर से हराया।
• मुंडा को चार साल के पूर्ण कार्यकाल के लिए चुना गया था। AAI चुनाव दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय के आदेश के अनुसार हुए थे।
• चुनाव विश्व तीरंदाजी (WA), खेल मंत्रालय और भारतीय ओलंपिक संघ (IOS) के प्रत्येक पर्यवेक्षक की उपस्थिति में आयोजित किया गया था।
भारत सरकार NMML के अध्यक्ष के रूप में नृपेंद्र मिश्रा की नियुक्ति की
• प्रधानमंत्री के पूर्व प्रधान सचिव नृपेंद्र मिश्रा को नेहरू मेमोरियल संग्रहालय एवं पुस्तकालय (NMML) की कार्यकारी परिषद का अध्यक्ष बनाया गया है। आदेश में कहा गया है कि प्रसार भारती बोर्ड के अध्यक्ष ए. सूर्य प्रकाश परिषद उपाध्यक्ष होंगे।
• नेहरु स्मारक संग्रहालय एवं पुस्तकालय (NMML) जवाहरलाल नेहरु (1889-1964) की याद में स्थापित संस्कृति मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार के अधीन एक स्वायत्त संस्था है। यह भव्य तीन मूर्ति भवन परिसर में स्थित है।
