Cabinet approval for formation of National Urban Housing Fund
 
●        The Union Cabinet has approved the formation of National Urban Housing Fund (NUHF) of 60,000 crore rupees.
●        This fund will be held in the Building Materials and Technology Promotion Council (BMTPC).
●        BMPTC is an autonomous body of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, registered under the Institution Registration Act 1860.

Approval of India-Morocco Cooperation Agreement in Railway Sector
 
●        The Union Cabinet has approved the retrospective agreement for the cooperation between the National Railway Office of India and Morocco.
●        Under this, long term cooperation and partnership will be developed in different areas of the railway.
●        The cooperation agreement was signed on December 14, 2017.
 
Approval of the new Bill, 2018 to ban irregular deposits and chit funds (amendment)
 
●        Under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Cabinet has approved to introduce the Bill on Ban on Irregular Deposit Scheme, 2018 in Parliament.
●        The objective of this bill is to deal with the problems related to non-legal deposits in the country.
●        The Bill on Ban of Irregular Deposit Schemes, 2018, will provide a detailed law to deal with the evil associated with illegal savings schemes in this way,
 
 
Early introduction of Shishu Sadan facility in Parliament House
 
●        Presenting the example of the spirit of the inclusive and collaborative work environments for women employees, the infant house (crèche) will be established soon in the Parliament House.
●        In the direct supervision of Lok Sabha Speaker, the development work of the Shishu Sadan is in progress and a senior official is monitoring the work.
 
India's 42 languages and dialects on the verge of extinction


●        The report released by the Home Ministry said that 42 languages and dialects spoken in India are in crisis.
●        According to this report, there are only a few thousand people using these 42 languages and dialects, which have led to this defeat.
●        It has been reported in the report of the Census Directorate under the Ministry of Home Affairs that there are 22 notified and 100 non-notified languages in India which are spoken by one lakh people or more.
●        The United Nations has also prepared a list of such 42 Indian languages or dialects.


Instructions to make Gayatri Mantra mandatory in Haryana schools
 
●        According to the recent order issued by the Education Directorate of Haryana, all government schools will be started with Gayatri Mantra.
●        In the instructions issued by the Directorate of Education, it has been specifically emphasized that schools have to chant Gayatri Mantra every day to their students.
●        Prayer will start with the Gayatri Mantra in Government schools, while the prayer will end with the national anthem.
 
 
Opening coal mines and trade doors for private companies

●        Now private companies will also be able to take out their business from coal.
●        After nationalization of coal sector in 1973, it is believed to be a major reform.

Approval of construction of bus-bay near land of Indian Defense University in Gurugram, Haryana


●        The Union Cabinet has approved the three milled land of the National Highway Authority of India for the construction of bus-bay near the land of Indian Defense University in Gurugram, Haryana.
●        With this, the Cabinet also sanctioned payment of Rs 1,82,719 lakhs made back by the Haryana Government on non-notification of the three dead land.
●        This amount was given to the Haryana Government in 2011 during land acquisition.

Agni-II missile test successful
 
●        Agni-II intermediate range ballistic missile was tested on Tuesday from APJ Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha.
●        This test was done by Strategic Force Command.
●        The range of missile is 2000 km.
●        It can be increased to 3 thousand km.
●        Agni II missile is capable of carrying nuclear weapons.

●        The Cabinet has granted retrospective approval to an agreement related to film production between India and Israel.
●        This agreement was signed by the two countries during the visit of Prime Minister of Israel Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu to Hyderabad House in New Delhi on January 15, 2018.

Walmart can open retail stores with Flipkart
 
●        There is also a proposal to open retail stores chain in the country with Walmart's ongoing investment interactions with Flipkart.
●        Wal-Mart is in talks to buy more than 30% stake in the country's largest online marketplace.
●        This will help the American company to open another front in the global competition with Amazon.
 
 
Surplus budget in Singapore, citizens get Rs 15,000 bonus
 
●        The Singapore government has announced a unique gift to its citizens on Monday.
●        Singapore's finance minister informed about the surplus of about 10 million Singapore dollars in 2017 budget.
●        According to him, keeping in mind the surplus, Singapore's all citizens 21 years and above will be given a 'SG bonus' of 300 Singapore dollars (about Rs 15,000).

●        Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje presented the 5th budget of the Rajasthan government for the financial year 2018-19.
●        This time Chief Minister made several major announcements in the state government budget this time.
●        According to budget announcements, seven lakh new electricity connections will be released in the state.
●        The chief minister has allocated Rs 37 thousand crore to overcome the problem of drinking water in 13 districts of Rajasthan.

 
35,000 crore deal with Maharashtra government's Rooftop aircraft maker Amol Yadav
 
●        The Maharashtra government has signed a deal worth 35 thousand crore with Rooftop Aircraft Maker Amol Yadav.
●        The Maharashtra government approved Monday the deck of Captain Amol Yadav, India's first private aircraft maker, to set up a indigenous factory for the construction of 20-seat planes in Palghar in a Rs 35,000-crore project on Monday.
●        The Maharashtra government had given support to it and was impressed by their efforts to offer land and fund to make a 20-seater aircraft.
