“National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of India” launched
• The “National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of India” has been launched by the Union Minister for Culture (I/C) Prahlad Singh Patel.
• The National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of India has been classified in the following 5 broad domains:
a. Oral traditions and expressions, including language as a vehicle of the intangible cultural heritage
b. Performing arts
c. Social practices, rituals and festive events
d. Knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe
e. Traditional craftsmanship
Uttar Pradesh Becomes First Indian State to Geotag Community Kitchens & Shelters
• Uttar Pradesh has been reported to become the first state in the country to geotag all its community kitchens and community shelters across 75 districts of the state, so as to provide adequate information to the general public regarding the location of shelter homes and community kitchens amid lockdown.
• There are 7,368 community kitchens and community shelters across 75 districts in the state which produce 12 lakh food packets a day.
• The state government has tied up with Google to ‘Geo-map’ the locations of all these establishments on the Google Maps app for ease of beneficiaries.

HDFC Bank launches Safety Grid campaign
• The bank has created physical markers of HDFC Bank logo on the ground using the outer grid logo. This campaign helps people waiting in the queue at a shop or an establishment.
• The Safety Grid will be painted in front of the space leading to various retail outlets such as pharmacies, grocery stores, and ATMs. The safety grid distance of 1 metre is prescribed by the World Health Organization.
Obituary
Oscar-winning Animator and Film director Gene Deitch passes away at 95
• Oscar-winning animator, film director and producer, Gene Deitch passed away. His movie “Munro” won the Oscar award in the animated short film category in 1960.
• He directed some episodes of “Tom and Jerry” and also some episodes of “Popeye the Sailor” series. He received the Winsor McCay Award for his lifelong contribution to animation in 2004.

UN Chinese Language Day
• UN Chinese Language Day is observed on April 20 annually.The UN Department of Public Information established the day in 2010 to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity as well as promote equal use of all six of its official working languages throughout the organization.
• The day has been chosen to pay tribute to Cangjie, who is a mythical figure who is presumed to have invented Chinese characters about 5,000 years ago.

"भारत की अमूर्त सांस्कृतिक विरासत की राष्ट्रीय सूची" का शुभारंभ
• केंद्रीय संस्कृति मंत्री प्रह्लाद सिंह पटेल द्वारा "भारत की अमूर्त सांस्कृतिक विरासत (ICH) की राष्ट्रीय सूची" लॉन्च की गई है।
• भारत की अमूर्त सांस्कृतिक विरासत की राष्ट्रीय सूची को निम्नलिखित 5 व्यापक डोमेन में वर्गीकृत किया गया है:
a मौखिक परंपरा और अभिव्यक्ति, अमूर्त सांस्कृतिक विरासत के वाहन के रूप में भाषा सहित।
b कला प्रदर्शन
c सामाजिक प्रथाओं, अनुष्ठानों और उत्सव की घटनाओं
d प्रकृति और ब्रह्मांड के विषय में ज्ञान और अभ्यास
e पारंपरिक शिल्पकारी
उत्तर प्रदेश जिओटाग सामुदायिक रसोई और आश्रयों के लिए पहला भारतीय राज्य बना
• उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य के 75 जिलों में अपने सभी सामुदायिक रसोई और सामुदायिक आश्रयों को जियोटैग करने वाला देश का पहला राज्य बन गया है, ताकि लॉकडाउन मे आम लोगों को आश्रय घरों और सामुदायिक रसोई के स्थान के बारे में पर्याप्त जानकारी प्रदान की जा सके।
• राज्य में 75 जिलों में 7,368 सामुदायिक रसोई और सामुदायिक आश्रय हैं, जो एक दिन में 12 लाख भोजन पैकेट का उत्पादन करते हैं।
• राज्य सरकार ने लाभार्थियों की आसानी के लिए Google मैप्स ऐप पर इन सभी प्रतिष्ठानों के स्थानों को 'भू-मानचित्र' के लिए Google के साथ जोड़ा है।

एचडीएफसी बैंक ने सुरक्षा ग्रिड अभियान शुरू किया
एचडीएफसी बैंक के लोगो के बाहरी ग्रिड का उपयोग करते हुए जो कि जो विश्वास का पर्याय है, बैंक ने किसी दुकान या प्रतिष्ठान में कतार में खड़े लोगों को विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (डब्ल्यूएचओ) द्वारा निर्धारित सोशल यानि “सामाजिक” दूरी बनाए रखने में मदद करने के लिए जमीन पर फिजिकल मार्कर बनाए हैं। कोलकाता में एक सफल पायलट प्रोजेक्ट के बाद, मुंबई, दिल्ली, बेंगलुरु, कोलकाता, हैदराबाद, पुणे, चंडीगढ़ और भुवनेश्वर में सेफ्टी ग्रिड अभियान शुरू किया गया है। ‘द सेफ्टी ग्रिड’ को विभिन्न खुदरा दुकानों जैसे कि फार्मेसियों, किराने की दुकानों और एटीएम के लिए अग्रणी स्थान के सामने पेंट किया जाएगा। प्रत्येक ग्रिड को डब्ल्यूएचओ द्वारा तय अधिकतम एक दूसरे से 1 मीटर की दूरी पर बनाया जाएगा। शुरुआत के लिए, “सेफ्टी ग्रिड” 8 शहरों में 4,000 से अधिक जरूरी सेवाओं के स्टोर पर लागू किया जाएगा। अब तक, इसे 1,750 से अधिक आवश्यक सर्विसेज स्टोर पर लागू किया जा चुका है।

अमेरिकी एनिमेटर, फिल्म निर्माता जीन डिच का 95 वर्ष की उम्र में प्राग में निधन
• ऑस्कर विजेता एनिमेटर, फिल्म निर्देशक और निर्माता, जीन डिच का निधन हो गया। उनकी फिल्म "मुनरो" ने 1960 में एनिमेटेड लघु फिल्म श्रेणी में ऑस्कर पुरस्कार जीता।
• उन्होंने "टॉम एंड जेरी" के कुछ एपिसोड का निर्देशन किया और साथ ही "पॉपी द सेलर" सीरीज के कुछ एपिसोड भी। 2004 में एनीमेशन में उनके आजीवन योगदान के लिए उन्हें विंसर मैकके पुरस्कार मिला।

संयुक्त राष्ट्र चीनी भाषा दिवस 2020
• संयुक्त राष्ट्र चीनी भाषा दिवस 20 अप्रैल को प्रतिवर्ष मनाया जाता है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र के सार्वजनिक सूचना विभाग ने बहुभाषावाद और सांस्कृतिक विविधता का जश्न मनाने के लिए 2010 में दिन की स्थापना की और साथ ही संगठन में अपने सभी छह आधिकारिक कामकाजी भाषाओं के समान उपयोग को बढ़ावा दिया।
• उस दिन Cangjie को श्रद्धांजलि देने के लिए चुना गया है, जो एक पौराणिक व्यक्ति है, जिसे लगभग 5,000 साल पहले चीनी पात्रों का आविष्कार करने के लिए माना जाता है।
