NDMA will hold workshop on 'Disaster Risk Reduction Database'
●        National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is going to organize a two-day national workshop on the data requirements for the disaster risk reduction database here tomorrow.
●        This workshop is being organized in collaboration with the United Nations International Child Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Mitigation (UNISDR).
 

Jitendra Singh honored officials who got top position in the Civil Services Examination, 2017
●        A function organized by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (DOPT) organized by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions here today, Union Minister of State for Information and Public Enterprises (Independent Charge), Prime Minister's Office, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh. 9th India-Japan Energy Dialogue concludes in New Delhi
●        9th India-Japan Energy Dialogue concludes today in New Delhi Minister of State for Energy and New and Renewable Energy (Independent Charge) Shri R. K. Singh and Japan's Economic, Trade and Industry Minister Hiroshige Seko signed a joint statement after the meeting was concluded.
●        The two countries also agreed to contribute to the issue of world energy security, access to energy and the issue of climate change.
 


14 of India's 15 most polluted cities
 
●        In Geneva, the list of the world's 15 most polluted cities has been released by the WHO for 2016, which includes 14 cities of India.
●        The top of this list is Kanpur.
●        In the list of most polluted cities, Delhi is number six.
 
 
The responsibility of monitoring bullet train project given to PMG
●        Project Monitoring Group (PMG) of the Prime Minister's Office has been entrusted with the responsibility to monitor the Modi Government's ambitious bullet train scheme to be completed before the deadline of August 2022.
●        PMG will now work in collaboration with Central Government Ministries and other units along with Maharashtra and Gujarat government on this project of 1.08 lakh crore rupees.
 
 
New telecom policy drafted
 
●        The government released a new telecommunications policy titled National Digital Communication Policy -2018 on Wednesday, with the goal of creating 40 lakh jobs in the sector till 2022.
●        In the draft of the new telecom policy, the intention of providing 50 Mbps broadband services to every citizen of the country, attracting investment of $ 100 billion in the sector and providing 4 million jobs by 2022 has been expressed.

●        Subhash Chandra Khuntia has been appointed as the new chairman of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India.

International Buddhist Conference-2018 organized in Lumbini
●        The International Buddhist Conference was held in Lumbini, Nepal, on the occasion of Buddha Purnima of 2018.
