Ravi Shankar Prasad launches India’s National AI Portal www.ai.gov.in
• The Union Minister for Electronics and IT, Law and Justice and Communications Ravi Shankar Prasad launched India’s national Artificial Intelligence Portal called www.ai.gov.in, on 30 May 2020, to mark the the first anniversary of the second tenure of the government
• The portal has been jointly developed by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and IT Industry. It will be jointly run by National e-Governance Division of Ministry of Electronics and IT and NASSCOM from the IT industry.
• The minister also launched a National Program for the youth, “Responsible AI for Youth”, to give the young students of our country a platform and empower them with appropriate new age tech mind-set, relevant AI skill-sets and access to required AI tool-sets to make them digitally ready for the future.

Yes Bank acquires 24.19% stake in Dish TV via pledged shares
• Private sector lender YES Bank has acquired 24.19 percent stake in Dish TV India Ltd, making it the second-largest shareholder in the direct-to-home (DTH) company.
• Yes Bank Ltd has acquired the stakes by invoking pledges against 44.53 equity shares kept as collateral with the private lender for a loan.
Science and Technology
Astronomers confirm the existence of Earth Size Planet at Proxima Centauri
• The researchers found that the Earth-like planet Proxima b is 1.17 times the mass of the Earth which is smaller than the older estimate of 1.3 times. The planet orbits its star in just 11.2 days.
• With the use of state-of-the-art astronomical instruments, it has been informed that Earth-like planet has been orbiting the closest star to our solar system, Proxima Centauri.
NASA Astronauts enters International Space Station in SpaceX’s Crew Dragon
• The SpaceX astronaut mission completed its first journey as the astronauts in the Crew Dragon Capsule entered the International Space Station (ISS) on May 31. Elon Musk’s SpaceX company built the Dragon module that lifted from Florida spaceport on May 30, 2020.
• The spacecraft successfully docked with the orbiting laboratory at 10.16 am ET. Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley then disembarked Crew Dragon and joined the three crew currently onboard the International Space Station which was launched in 1998 and inhabited in 2000.

Wajid Khan of Sajid-Wajid Music Composer Duo passes away
• Singer & music composer Wajid Khan passed away. The singer was renowned for his partnership with his brother Sajid and the duo was known as Sajid-Wajid.
• They made their Bollywood debut in 1998 with movie Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya and went on to work in various films such as Garv, TereNaam, Tumko Na Bhool Payenge, Partner and various others.

Rohit Sharma nominated for Rajiv Gandhi KhelRatna Award 2020
• Rohit Sharma has been nominated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award 2020. Among other nominations, the BCCI nominated Shikhar Dhawan, Deepti Sharma and Ishant Sharma for Arjuna Awards.
• The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports had sought invitations for the awards from the board. The period of consideration for the nominations is from January 1, 2016- December 31, 2019.

Power Finance Corporation board Appoints R S Dhillon as CMD
• State-run Power Finance Corporation (PFC) has appointed Ravinder Singh Dhillon as the new Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the company.
• He will succeed incumbent CMD Rajeev Sharma, who is attaining superannuation on May 31, 2020.
• Dhillon’s appointment will be with effect from 01 June 2020, till the date of his superannuation (May 31, 2023) or until further orders.
Arun Singhal Appointed CEO of Food Regulator FSSAI
• Senior bureaucrat Arun Singhal has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of India’s apex food regulator Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). He will succeed GSG Ayyangar.
• The FSSAI comes under the purview of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare. It is responsible for setting up standards for the food industry and regulate the manufacturing, storage, distribution, sale, and import of foods.
Anita Kotwani becomes Chief Executive Officer of Carat India
• Anita Kotwani has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Carat India, a media agency owned by Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN).
• She was earlier serving as the senior vice president, new business and client lead, for The Walt Disney business at Mindshare India.

केंद्रीय मंत्री रविशंकर प्रसाद ने राष्ट्रीय आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस पोर्टल को किया लॉन्च
नरेंद्र मोदी सरकार के दूसरे कार्यकाल के एक साल पूरे होने के मौके पर केंद्रीय मंत्री रविशंकर प्रसाद ने भारत के राष्ट्रीय आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलिजेंस पोर्टल को लॉन्च किया। यह पोर्टल भारत में एआई संबंधित डेवलपमेंट्स के लिए 'वन स्टॉप' डिजिटल प्लेटफॉर्म के रूप में काम करेगा, जो कि भारत में AI से संबंधित आर्टिकल, स्टार्टअप्स, एआई में निवेश फंडों, संसाधनों, कंपनियों और शैक्षिक संस्थानों आदि को शेयर करेगा। यह पोर्टल दस्तावेजों, केस स्टडीज, रिसर्च रिपोर्ट आदि को भी शेयर करेगा। इसमें एआई से संबंधित सीखने और नई नौकरी की भूमिकाएं हैं।
इस पोर्टल को इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और आईटी मंत्रालय और आईटी उद्योग द्वारा संयुक्त रूप से विकसित किया गया है। इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और आईटी मंत्रालय के राष्ट्रीय ई-गवर्नेंस डिवीजन और आईटी उद्योग से नास्कॉम मिलकर इस पोर्टल को चलाएंगे।
बैंकिंग और अर्थव्यवस्था
यस बैंक ने डिश टीवी की 24 फीसदी हिस्सेदारी अधिग्रहण किया
निजी क्षेत्र के यस बैंक ने डिश टीवी की 24 प्रतिशत से अधिक हिस्सेदारी का अधिग्रहण करने की शनिवार को जानकारी दी। बैंक ने कहा कि डीटीएच सेवा प्रदाता कंपनी डिश टीवी तथा कुछ अन्य कंपनियों ने ये शेयर कर्ज के एवज में गिरवी रखे थे। कर्ज के भुगतान में चूक के कारण इन शेयरों का अधिग्रहण किया गया है।
बैंक ने शेयर बाजारों को बताया कि 24.19 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी का अधिग्रहण किया गया है। उसने कहा कि ये 44,53,48,990 शेयर हैं। डिश टीवी इंडिया लिमिटेड को दिये गये कर्ज का समय पर भुगतान नहीं होने के कारण इन शेयरों का अधिग्रहण किया गया है।

खगोल विज्ञानीको ने प्रॉक्सिमा सेंटॉरी में पृथ्वी के आकार के ग्रह के अस्तित्व की पुष्टि की
• शोधकर्ताओं ने पाया कि पृथ्वी जैसा ग्रह प्रॉक्सिमा बी पृथ्वी के द्रव्यमान का 1.17 गुना है जो 1.3 गुना पुराने अनुमान से छोटा है। ग्रह सिर्फ 11.2 दिनों में अपने तारे की परिक्रमा करता है।
• अत्याधुनिक खगोलीय उपकरणों के उपयोग के साथ, यह बताया गया है कि पृथ्वी जैसा ग्रह हमारे सौर मंडल के सबसे नजदीकी तारे की परिक्रमा कर रहा है, प्रॉक्सिमा सेंटॉरी।
नासा के अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों को लेकर आईएसएस पहुंचा स्पेसएक्स का 'ड्रैगन'
अंतरिक्ष यात्रा के इतिहास में नया अध्याय शुरू करते हुए एलन मस्क की कंपनी स्पेसएक्स द्वारा बनाए गए अंतरिक्ष यान ड्रैगन क्रू कैप्सूल से नासा के दो अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों को अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्पेस स्टेशन (आईएसएस) भेजा गया। करीब 19 घंटे के सफर के बाद अंतरिक्ष यात्री आईएसएस पहुंच गए। मिशन की सफलता के बाद कंपनी के मालिक मस्क का उत्साह देखने ही वाला था। बता दें कि यह पहली बार हुआ है जब किसी निजी कंपनी ने अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों को लॉन्च किया है।
मिशन की सफलता के बाद एलन मस्क दोनों बाहें हवा में फैलाए नजर आए। उन्होंने कहा कि केनेडी स्पेस स्टेशन से फॉल्कन 9 रॉकेट में नासा के दो अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों को सफलतापूर्वक आईएसएस के लिए रवाना करने के बाद वह बहुत भावुक हो गए थे। यह प्रक्षेपण इसलिए भी महत्त्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि यह करीब एक दशक में पहली बार है जब अमेरिकी जमीन से मानवों को कक्षा में भेजा गया है।
बता दें कि स्पेसएक्स क्रू ड्रैगन अंतरिक्षयान ने नासा के केनेडी अंतरिक्ष केंद्र के प्रक्षेपण परिसर से कंपनी के फॉल्कन 9 रॉकेट के जरिए नासा के अंतरिक्ष यात्री बॉब बेह्नकेन (49) और डग हर्ली (53) को लेकर तीन बजकर 22 मिनट पर उड़ान भरी। इसके साथ ही स्पेसएक्स पहली निजी कंपनी बन गई है जिसने मनुष्य को कक्षा (ऑर्बिट) में भेजा हो।

• गायक और संगीत संगीतकार वाजिद खान का निधन हो गया। गायक अपने भाई साजिद के साथ साझेदारी के लिए प्रसिद्ध थे और इस जोड़ी को साजिद-वाजिद के नाम से जाना जाता था।

BCCI ने रोहित शर्मा को राजीव गांधी खेल रत्न पुरस्कार 2020 के लिए किया नामांकित
• रोहित शर्मा को भारतीय क्रिकेट कंट्रोल बोर्ड (BCCI) द्वारा प्रतिष्ठित राजीव गांधी खेल रत्न पुरस्कार 2020 के लिए नामित किया गया है। अन्य नामांकन के अलावा, BCCI ने शिखर धवन, दीप्ति शर्मा और इशांत शर्मा को अर्जुन पुरस्कारों के लिए नामित किया।
• केंद्रीय युवा मामले और खेल मंत्रालय ने बोर्ड से पुरस्कार के लिए निमंत्रण मांगा था। नामांकन के लिए विचार की अवधि 1 जनवरी, 2016 से 31 दिसंबर, 2019 तक थी।

पावर फाइनेंस कॉर्पोरेशन बोर्ड ने आर एस ढिल्लन को सीएमडी नियुक्त किया
• राज्य संचालित पावर फाइनेंस कॉरपोरेशन (PFC) ने रविंदर सिंह ढिल्लों को कंपनी का नया अध्यक्ष और प्रबंध निदेशक (CMD) नियुक्त किया है।
• वह सीएमडी राजीव शर्मा को सफल बनाएंगे, जो 31 मई, 2020 को सुपरनेशन प्राप्त कर रहे हैं।
• ढिल्लों की नियुक्ति 01 जून 2020 से, उनकी सेवानिवृत्ति (31 मई, 2023) तक या अगले आदेशों तक लागू रहेगी।
अरुण सिंघल होंगे FSSAI के नए मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी
मंत्रिमंडल की नियुक्ति समिति ने अरुण सिंघल को भारतीय खाद्य सुरक्षा और मानक प्राधिकरण (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India-FSSAI) के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी के रूप में नियुक्ति करने की मंजूरी दे दी है। वह खाद्य नियामक के वर्तमान सीईओ जीएसजी अयंगर का स्थान लेंगे।
अरुण सिंघल वर्तमान में स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण विभाग के विशेष सचिव के रूप में सेवारत हैं। FSSAI भारत में खाद्य नियामक है जो खाद्य उद्योग के लिए मानक निर्धारित करने और खाद्य पदार्थों के विनिर्माण, भंडारण, वितरण, बिक्री और आयात को विनियमित करने के लिए शीर्ष निकाय है। FSSAI स्वास्थ्य और परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय के आधीन आता है।
अनीता कोटवानी बनीं कैरेट इंडिया की नई मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी
अनीता कोटवानी को Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) के स्वामित्व वाली मीडिया एजेंसी कैरेट इंडिया (Carat India) का नया मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी नियुक्त किया गया है। इससे पहले वह न्यू बिजनेस और क्लाइंट लीड के रूप में मिंडशेयर इंडिया में वॉल्ट डिज्नी के बिजनेस की सीनियर वाइस प्रेसीडेंट के रूप में कार्यत थीं।
