National
National Migrant Information System launched to track movement of migrants
• The central government has launched the ‘National Migration Information System’ to track the movement of migrant workers in India. The portal will ensure smooth movement of migrants who have been stranded in different states/UTs.
• The system has been developed by the National Management Authority (NDMA).
Madhya Pradesh launches Charan Paduka initiative for migrant labourers
• In Madhya Pradesh, in a first of its kind of initiative, Charan Paduka campaign has been started for the migrant labourers passing through the state.
• Under this campaign, the migrant labourers going barefoot are being providing shoes and slippers to reduce their pain.

PM of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu sworn-in for the 5th time
• Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu finally swore in his new government on 17 May for the fifth time.
• The ceremony of the swearing-in of Israel’s new government, the Knesset, was held in accordance with directives.
• Netanyahu will be in power until 13 November 2021. This ended the 18-month political crisis in the country.
• Benny Gantz will serve in the specially created role of alternate Prime Minister and Defense Minister.
Cyclonic Amphan (Um-Pun) intensifies into a very severe cyclonic storm
• Severe Cyclonic storm ‘Amphan’ over southeast bay and adjoining southwest bay has intensified into a very severe cyclonic storm as it moved northwards.
• It is likely to intensify further and move in a north-northwesterly direction before turning towards Bangladesh. It may cross Bangladesh coast between Khulna-Chattogram.

ISRO directs start-ups to build local tech for Gaganyaan mission
• India’s space agency Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has directed the startups to develop tools and machines for its maiden human space flight Gaganyaan-1 mission.
• ISRO focuses to potentially help them build products and solutions that they can exploit commercially.ISRO has identified a set of 17 technologies that to develop locally at lower costs for use in its Gaganyaan missions.
ARCI & SCTIMST jointly develops biodegradable metal implants
International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI) and Sree ChitraTirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Thiruvananthapuram have jointly developed new generation Iron-Manganese based alloys for biodegradable metal implants for use in humans.

Jack Ma resigns from the Board of SoftBank
• Alibaba's Jack Ma has resigned from the Softbank's Board of Directors. The official reason of Ma's resignation has not been revealed yet.
• Ma's resignation will come into effect on June 25, 2020, on the day of annual shareholder meeting of the Softbank. He served the group for nearly 13 years.
Rajesh Goel becomes new DG of NAREDCO
• Rajesh Goel becomes new director-general (DG) of the Realtors body National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO). Prior to this, he was serving as the chairman and managing director, Hindustan Prefab Ltd.
• He is a professional with over 37 years of experience in leading PSUs under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

• The book titled as “Wuhan Diary: Dispatches from a Quarantined City” authored by Chinese literary writer Fang Fang is a compilation of online diary entries and social media posts, captures the challenges of daily life and the changing moods and emotions of being quarantined without reliable information & is a remarkable record of the extraordinary time.
• The book was released in India in an ebook format on May 15, 2020, published by Harper NonFiction, the audio will follow on May 26.The book will be translated into 15 languages.

NDMA ने तैयार किया डैशबोर्ड "राष्ट्रीय प्रवासी सूचना प्रणाली (NMIS)
राष्ट्रीय आपदा प्रबंधन प्राधिकरण (NDMA) द्वारा एक ऑनलाइन डैशबोर्ड "राष्ट्रीय प्रवासी सूचना प्रणाली (NMIS)" तैयार किया गया है। NDMA द्वारा इस डैशबोर्ड को तैयार करने का उद्देश्य - प्रवासियों के आंदोलन के बारे में जानकारी हासिल करने और राज्यों में फंसे हुए व्यक्तियों के सुचारू आवागमन को सुगम बनाना है।
डैशबोर्ड National Migrant Information System द्वारा प्रवासी श्रमिकों पर एक केंद्रीय भंडार का प्रबन्धन किया जाएगा। यह प्रवासी श्रमिकों के सुगम आवागमन को उनके मूल स्थानों तक पहुंचाने के लिए त्वरित अंतर-राज्य संचार / समन्वय (inter-State communication/co-ordination) में भी सहयोग करेगा। इसमें कॉन्टैक्ट ट्रेसिंग जैसे अतिरिक्त फायदे भी शामिल हैं, जो समग्र महामारी प्रतिक्रिया कार्य में लाभदायक हो सकते हैं। डैशबोर्ड में एकीकृत डेटा की मदद से, राज्य यह आकलन कर कर पाएंगे कि कितने लोग अपने गंतव्य राज्यों में कहां पहुंच रहे हैं।
मध्य प्रदेश ने प्रवासी मजदूरों के लिए चरण पादुका पहल शुरू की
• मध्य प्रदेश में, अपनी तरह की पहली पहल में, राज्य से गुजरने वाले प्रवासी मजदूरों के लिए चरण पादुका अभियान शुरू किया गया है।
• इस अभियान के तहत, नंगे पैर जाने वाले प्रवासी मजदूरों को उनके दर्द को कम करने के लिए जूते और चप्पल प्रदान किए जा रहे हैं।

इजरायल के पीएम बेंजामिन नेतन्याहू ने 5 वीं बार शपथ ली
• प्रधान मंत्री बेंजामिन नेतन्याहू ने 17 वीं मई को अपनी नई सरकार में पांचवीं बार शपथ ली।
• इजरायल की नई सरकार, कसेट, के शपथ ग्रहण का समारोह वर्तमान निर्देशों के अनुसार आयोजित किया गया था।
• नेतन्याहू 13 नवंबर 2021 तक सत्ता में रहेंगे। इससे देश में 18 महीने का राजनीतिक संकट समाप्त हो गया।
• बेनी गैंट्ज़ वैकल्पिक प्रधानमंत्री और रक्षा मंत्री की विशेष रूप से बनाई गई भूमिका में काम करेंगे।
चक्रवात अम्फन (उम-पुन) एक बहुत ही गंभीर चक्रवाती तूफान में बदला
• दक्षिण पूर्व की खाड़ी और उससे सटे दक्षिण-पश्चिम की खाड़ी के ऊपर गंभीर चक्रवाती तूफान 'अम्फान' उत्तर की ओर बढ़ते ही बहुत ही भयंकर चक्रवाती तूफान में बदल गया है।
• यह बांग्लादेश की ओर मुड़ने से पहले उत्तर-उत्तर-पूर्वी दिशा में आगे बढ़ने और बढ़ने की संभावना है। यह खुलना-चटोग्राम के बीच बांग्लादेश तट को पार कर सकता है।

मिशन गगनयान : इसरो स्थानीय स्टार्ट-अप्स की प्रौद्योगिकियों का उपयोग करेगा
भारतीय अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संगठन ने गगनयान मिशन में भारतीय स्टार्ट-अप्स की 17 तकनीकों को चिन्हित किया है।
चिन्हित की गई प्रौद्योगिकियों में अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों के लिए भोजन और दवा, जीवन समर्थन प्रणाली, आवास, थर्मल संरक्षण प्रौद्योगिकियां और विकिरण-विरोधी प्रौद्योगिकियां शामिल हैं। इसरो इस मिशन में भाग लेने वाली कंपनियों के साथ अपनी बौद्धिक सम्पदा को भी साझा करेगा। भारत ने अपनी वायु सेना के पायलटों को गगनयान मिशन के लिए प्रशिक्षित होने के लिए रूस भेजा था।
गगनयान इसरो का एक क्रू स्पेस प्रोग्राम है। इस कार्यक्रम के तहत तीन वायु सेना के पायलटों को अंतरिक्ष में ले जाया जाएगा। चालक दल के मिशन को दिसंबर, 2021 में लॉन्च किया जायेगा। चालक दल के साथ एक रोबोट व्योमित्र को भी अन्तरिक्ष में भेजा जायेगा।
ARCI और SCTIMST के वैज्ञानिकों ने स्वाभाविक तरीके मिश्र धातुओं का विकास किया पाउडर धातुकर्म और नई सामग्री (ARCI) और श्री चित्रत्रुनल इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ मेडिकल साइंसेज एंड टेक्नोलॉजी (SCTIMST) के लिए इंटरनेशनल एडवांस्ड रिसर्च सेंटर, तिरुवनंतपुरम ने संयुक्त रूप से मानव में उपयोग के लिए बायोडिग्रेडेबल धातु संयंत्रों के लिए नई पीढ़ी के लौह-मैंगनीज आधारित मिश्र धातुओं का विकास किया है।

चीनी अरबपति जैक मा ने जापान के सॉफ्टबैंक के बोर्ड से दिया इस्तीफा
• अलीबाबा के जैक मा ने सॉफ्टबैंक के निदेशक मंडल से इस्तीफा दे दिया है। जैक मा के इस्तीफे का आधिकारिक कारण अभी तक सामने नहीं आया है।
• जैक मा का इस्तीफा 25 जून, 2020 को सॉफ्टबैंक की वार्षिक शेयरधारक बैठक के दिन से प्रभावी होगा। उन्होंने लगभग 13 वर्षों तक समूह की सेवा की।
राजेश गोयल नारेडको(NAREDCO) के महानिदेशक नियुक्त
रियल्टी कंपनियों के संगठन नेशनल रीयल एस्टेट डेवलपमेंट काउंसिल (नारेडको) ने राजेश गोयल को संगठन का महानिदेशक नियुक्त किया है। नारेडको ने बयान में कहा कि इससे पहले गोयल हिंदुस्तान प्रीफैब लि. के चेयरमैन एवं प्रबंध निदेशक थे। गोयल के पास 37 साल का पेशेवर अनुभव है। वह आवास एवं शहरी मामलों के मंत्रालय के तहत सार्वजनिक उपक्रमों की अगुवाई कर चुके हैं। वह नवंबर, 2019 को हिंदुस्तान प्रीफैब के चेयरमैन एवं प्रबंध निदेशक पद से सेवानिवृत्त हुए। नारेडको के अध्यक्ष निरंजन हीरानंदानी ने कहा कि गोयल के व्यापक अनुभव से नारेडको की वृद्धि और विकास में मदद मिलेगी।
