Prime Minister addressed Indian community in Stockholm


●        Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today addressed the Indian community in Stockholm.
●        He thanked Sweden's government, especially the celebration of the King of Sweden and Prime Minister of Sweden, Mr. Stefan Lofven, for his warm welcome in Sweden.
●        He said that India is now going through a major transformation phase.

Inaugurating the first Regional Workshop on Star Rating System for Trash Free Cities


●        The first Regional Workshop on Star Rating System for Garbage-Free Cities was organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development here in collaboration with the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).
●        In the presence of the Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Durga Shankar Mishra, the workshop was inaugurated by Mrs. Meenakshi Lekhi.
●        On this occasion, NDMC Chairman Mr. Naresh Kumar and Director of Clean India Mission (Urban) VK Jindal were also present.
 
Narendra Modi inaugurates railway line in Maoist-affected areas


●        Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi recently inaugurated a railway line and passenger rail service in Kanker district of Northern Bastar, affected by separation.
●        The inauguration of the much-awaited railway line was done by video conferencing on the allegiance of constitution maker Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar in Jangla village, Bijapur district.
●        This railway line connects Dalli Rajhara of Balod district to Bhanupratappur in northern Bastar. The first visit of passenger train will be run by all women railway workers.

Central Environment Ministry issues draft of 'National Clean Air' program


●        The Union Environment Ministry has issued a draft National Clean Air Program (NCAP) to reduce air pollution on April 17, 2018.
●        Its aim is to tackle the problem of air pollution across the country in a broad way.
●        Clean air expedition is a serious effort to significantly reduce the level of pollution in the national capital.

Supreme Court bans order to declare Amarnath cave as 'Silence Zone'


●        The Supreme Court banned the decision of the National Green Justice (NGT) on April 16, 2018, in which Amarnath cave was declared a Silence Zone.
●        A bench of Justice Madan B Lokur and Justice Deepak Gupta has heard the petition filed by the Amarnath Shrine Board against the NGT decision.
●        The bench also banned NGT's decision on December 13.
 

Indigo, GoAir will get the delivery of Neo planes by the end of this month


●        Airbus is going to resume the global delivery of A320Neo aircraft after about 3 months by the end of April.
●        Three sources aware of this matter have given this information to the Economic Times.
●        He told that the indigenous IndiGo and GoAir, which carry cheap air travel in India, will start delivery of Neo planes in the last week of April or early May.
 
 
Traffic jam in India costs Rs 1.4 lakh crore every year 
 
●        Traffic of peak hour is damaging $ 22 billion annually in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore, that is twice the annual budget of the National Highway Authority.
●        This information has come up in the study conducted by the Boston Consulting Group for Ober .
●        According to this, traffic congestion of peak hour takes 129% more time than normal traffic in Delhi, the data in Mumbai is 135, Bengaluru 162 and Kolkata 171% more.

Prime Minister Modi's visit to Sweden
 
●        India and Sweden signed a 'Shared Action Plan' and 'Innovative Partnership' documents on April 17, 2018 to strengthen their bilateral cooperation.
●        Apart from this, leaders of both the countries decided to increase mutual cooperation in the field of defense production and cyber security under Make in India.
●        Under these agreements, India and Sweden agreed to work plan with Seed Money of $ 6 million (about Rs 39 crore 44 lakh).

●        President of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and Secretary of the Department of Space, Dr. K. Sivan called on the Union Minister of State for North-Eastern Development (Independent Charge), Prime Minister's Office, Lok Shikayat, Pension, Atomic Energy and Minister of State for Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh here today.
●        During the meeting doctor's Siwan gave them information about the upcoming moon mission 'Chandrayaan-2'. It is likely to be launched from Sriharikota during October-November this year.

Global Information Technology Competition for Divyang Youth


●        The Global Information Technology Competition (GITC) 2018 for Divyang Youth will be organized in New Delhi from 8 to 11 November 2018.
●        In this regard, a consent letter was signed with Divyang Jan Authorization Department, Social Justice and Authorities and Rehabilitation Ministry, Korea yesterday.

Two-day consultation workshop for the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan


●        The Indian International Institute of Democracy and Election Management (IIIDE) organized a two-day Consultation Workshop for the Delegation of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan in the Election House, Election Commission, New Delhi on 16-17 April, 2018.
●        In the 6-member delegation, Vice President and Senior Officer of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan.
●        The objective of the workshop is to have an active voice on the role of electronic voting machines (EVMs) and the role of information technology and the running of training programs.

India has won the elections of six institutions including the UN's NGO Committee
 
●        India has won the election of six institutions of Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), including the NGO Committee of the United Nations (UN) on April 16, 2018.
●        In five of these, India was elected unopposed.
●        India's tenure commences from January 2019.

A three percent increase for growth of schemes in the districts


●        Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Shri Suresh Prabhu has stressed the need to accelerate the development of districts to ensure development at the national level.
●        For this, the Lord has decided to make a comprehensive district plan through participation mechanism for ensuring the active participation of the districts in the development of the Indian economy and for the overall development process to be started from the district level.

6 more states will introduce e-bills within their respective states from April 20


●        According to the GST Council's decision, the e-way bill system for the inter-state movement of goods has been implemented from 01 April, 2018.
●        From April 15, 2018, the e-way bill system was implemented for the movement of goods within the state in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Telangana and Uttar Pradesh.
●        E-These bills are being successfully created and 17 million more than 13 million e-way bills were made by April 2018.

Gagan Shakti - 2018 Advanced Landing Ground Operation


●        Under the "War" exercise "Gagan Shakti 2018" is being run by Indian Air Force, fighter aircraft, helicopters and cargo carriers have been deployed on Advanced Landing Ground (ALG).
●        The ALGs are small air stripes built in such remote areas of limited rail and road connectivity, which are of strategic importance in terms of speeding up armies and military equipment in the North and North Eastern Frontier regions of the country.
●        These air strips have been built in a very short time.
