Government of India decided not to extend the period of ceasefire in Jammu and Kashmir
●        On May 17, 2018, the Indian government had decided that aggressive actions would not be undertaken by the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir in the holy month of Ramzan.
●        This decision was made in the interest of the peaceful people of Jammu and Kashmir so that they could convince Ramzan in a favorable environment.

●        The Comprehensive Water Management Report was released by the Commission on June 14, 2018.

Mahesh Kumar Jain appointed as RBI deputy governor
 
●        Former Managing Director of IDBI Bank Mahesh Kumar Jain was appointed as the Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of India on 04 June 2018. His tenure will be three years.
●        This appointment has been done by the Financial Sector Regulatory Appointments Committee, which includes the Governor of RBI, other than the Secretary of Financial Services and other independent members.
