Ravi Shankar Prasad Meets the Industry Leaders to Develop a Roadmap for US$1 Trillion Digital Economy
Digital India being one of the most important programmes of the Government of India, the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) today organized a high-level consultation with the industry leaders from IT and ITeS sector with focus on digital financial services and e-commerce.
● The consultation was conducted for developing the roadmap for One Trillion Dollar Digital Economy in India.
● The meeting was chaired by Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, Hon’ble Union Minister for Electronics & Information Technology and Law & Justice, in the presence of Shri P. P. Chaudhary, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology and Law & Justice, Ms. Aruna Sundararajan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology and Dr. Ajay Kumar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.
● The industry was represented by leading corporate houses and industry associations like Infosys, IBM, Wipro, Google, Microsoft, Mahindra Tech, Intel Corporation, Panasonic India, NIIT, Quickheal, Practo, Hike, Lava International Ltd, Cyient Ltd, IVCA, NPCI, NASSCOM, IAMAI et al.
Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India notifies Fast Track Insolvency Resolution Process for Corporate Persons Regulations
The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI), in exercise of its powers conferred by sections 58, 196 and 208 read with section 240 of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (Code), has notified the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (Fast Track Insolvency Resolution Process for Corporate Persons) Regulations, 2017.
● These regulations provide the process from initiation of insolvency resolution of eligible corporate debtors till its conclusion with approval of the resolution plan by the Adjudicating Authority. The process in these cases shall be completed within a period of 90 days, as against 180 days in other cases.
● However, the Adjudicating Authority may, if satisfied, extend the period of 90 days by a further period up to 45 days for completion of the process.
● A creditor or a corporate debtor may file an application, along with the proof of existence of default, to the Adjudicating Authority for initiating fast track resolution process.
● After the application is admitted and the interim resolution professional (IRP) is appointed, if the IRP is of the opinion, based on the records of corporate debtor, that the fast track process is not applicable to the corporate debtor, he shall file an application before expiry of 21 days from the date of his appointment, to Adjudicating Authority to pass an order to convert the fast track process into a normal corporate insolvency resolution process.
HRD Ministry to organize several programmes to popularise Yoga
Yoga is a way of living that aims towards 'a healthy mind in a healthy body' and to inculcate the benefits of yoga in our everyday life the Ministry of Human Resource Development has taken various initiatives to promote it among the masses specially the students and faculties in all parts of the country on 3rd International Day of Yoga (21st June, 2017).
● Yoga Olympiad 2017 is the Second Olympiad involving school children from upper-Primary to secondary stages will be organized by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) from 18th -20th June, 2017 at NCERT, New Delhi.
● The idea behind conducting an Olympiad is that it should feel like an Olympic Sports event or peace run in the field of yoga. The message intended through the yoga Olympiad is to achieve peace, harmony and love in collaboration.
● The Yoga Olympiad will be organised by NCERT along with the Regional Institute of Education (RIEs) this year. The theme for the Yoga Olympiad is 'Yoga for Health and Harmony'.
Awareness session on Industrial Information System – Chhattisgarh
An awareness programme was conducted by Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion at Naya Raipur, Chhattisgarh on the Industrial Information System on June 15, 2017.
● The programme was chaired by Shri Chandu Lal Sahu. Hon’ble Member Parliament Mahasamund and Member of Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry The session was attended by senior govt. officials from Chhattisgarh Govt and industry associations.
● Sh Sunil Mishra MD Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation gave an overview of Industries in Chattisgarh. The state is rich in minerals and a quarter of power comes from the state. The state is strong in core industries particularly steel.
● Dr Vandana Kumar JS DIPP made a presentation on the ‘Industrial Information System which has been developed with the support of Ministry of Electronics and IT in collaboration with BISAG.
Atal Pension Yojana (APY) can now be subscribed digitally
Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has now introduced “APY@eNPS” which involves a complete digital enrolment process.
● This is the latest in the series of various initiatives taken by PFRDA for expansion of outreach of Atal Pension Yojana (APY), to give additional push to cover the as yet unreached population at greater ease.
● PFRDA has conducted meetings with Banks and Deptt of Post at Kolkata, Bengaluru & Mumbai respectively for the earliest roll out of the facility call.
● Shri A G Das, CGM, PFRDA recently addressed the meetings at Mumbai where IT department /Nodal officers of the Banks/Deptt of Post were present. PFRDA had briefed about the benefits of APY@eNPS platform to the Service Providers under APY where more than 45 bank officials (IT officials/Nodal Officers) were present.
● The APY service providers have been briefed to develop APY@eNPS channel features before 30th June 2017.
The Union Finance Minister Shri Arun Jaitley called upon H.E. President MOON Jae-in of the Republic of Korea
Minister of Finance, Corporate Affairs and Defence Shri Arun Jaitley met H.E. President MOON Jae-in of the Republic of Korea yesterday.
● Finance Minister Mr. Jaitley Congratulated President Moon on his recent election and conveyed the good wishes of the Prime Minister of India.
● Complimenting President Moon for his vision for the region and the relationship with India, and recalling the PMs invitation to the President to visit India, FM hoped that the two leaders would meet soon.
● Welcoming Finance Minister Mr. Jaitley To Korea, President Moon thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his good wishes since the election win, including over Twitter, recalling in particular the PMs gesture of doing so in Korean.
● Recalling the PMs congratulatory phone call of May 11, President Moon said there was a strong will on both sides in building the bilateral relationship.

Indian-Origin Leo Varadkar Elected Ireland's Prime Minister
Leo Varadkar was elected Irish Prime Minister on Wednesday, making the 38-year-old son of an Indian immigrant the first gay premier of the once-staunchly Catholic country and the youngest person to hold the office.
● Despite inheriting Europe's fastest-growing economy, he will face immediate challenges in the shape of neighbouring Britain's exit from the European Union, a political crisis in Northern Ireland and a housing crisis at home.
● Varadkar succeeded Enda Kenny earlier this month as leader of the Fine Gael party.
● Colleagues pinned their hopes of an unprecedented third term on the straight-talking Varadkar, who they believe can widen their appeal in elections that may be triggered as soon as next year.
● Varadkar's elevation marks another chapter in the social change that has swept through the country of 4.6 million people that only decriminalised homosexuality in 1993 and legalised divorce two years later.
● While analysts expect few major policy shifts from Varadkar and his new cabinet, the new Fine Gael leader has hinted at some changes.

Former BCCI secretary Jyoti Bajpai passes away
Jyoti Bajpai, the Uttar Pradesh-based former joint secretary (1997 to 2003) and treasurer (2003 to 2005) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, passed away on Wednesday (June 14), the Indian board has announced.
● “Bajpai played an immense role in the development of the sport in Uttar Pradesh in his roles as the honorary secretary and director of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) for many years,” said the BCCI in a statement.
● Amitabh Chaudhary, the acting BCCI secretary, condoled the veteran administrator’s death, saying, “In Mr Bajpai, we saw the perfect blend of a strong will of an able administrator and compassion of a cricket lover. I extend my deepest condolences to his family and friends in this hour of grief.”
● CK Khanna, the acting BCCI president, added, “I offer my heartfelt condolences on the passing away of Mr Jyoti Bajpai. We have lost a great cricket administrator. I have had the privilege to work with him in the Board. Our thoughts are with his family.”

भारतीय दिवाला और शोधन अक्षमता बोर्ड ने कॉरपोरेट जगत के दिवाला समाधान की तेज प्रक्रिया को अधिसूचित किया
भारतीय दिवाला और शोधन अक्षमता बोर्ड (आईबीबीआई) ने दिवाला और शोधन अक्षमता संहिता, 2016 की धारा 58, 196 और धारा 240 सहित धारा 208 के तहत कॉरपोरेट जगत के दिवाला समाधान की तेज प्रक्रिया को अधिसूचित किया है।
● इन नियमों के तहत पात्र कॉरपोरेट कर्जदारों के दिवालियापन के समाधान की प्रक्रिया चालू होगी। इस प्रक्रिया के तहत आने वाले मामलों को 90 दिनों के भीतर निपटा लिया जाएगा।
● कर्जदार, चूक होने की स्थिति में उसके सबूत के साथ समाधान प्रक्रिया के लिए आवेदन कर सकता है।
● कॉरपोरेट मामलों के मंत्रालय ने दिवाला और शोधन अक्षमता संहिता, 2016 की प्रासंगिक धारा 55 से 58 को अधिसूचित किया है, ताकि समाधान तीव्र प्रक्रिया के तहत हो सकें। यह निम्नलिखित कॉरपोरेट कर्जदारों के संबंध में लागू होगा –
● कंपनी अधिनियम, 2013 की धारा 2, उपधारा (85) में परिभाषित लघु कंपनी, या
● स्टार्टअप (साझेदारी फर्म के अतिरिक्त) जिसे वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्रालय की 23 मई, 2017 की अधिसूचना में परिभाषित किया गया है, या
● गैर सूचीबद्ध कंपनी जिसका उल्लेख वित्तीय बयान में दर्ज हो और जिसकी परिसम्पत्ति एक करोड़ रूपये से अधिक न हो।
योग को लोकप्रिय बनाने के लिए कई कार्यक्रमों का आयोजन करेगा मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्रालय
योग जीवन जीने का एक तरीका है जिसका लक्ष्य 'एक स्वस्थ शरीर में एक स्वस्थ मस्तिष्क' है। योग के तमाम फायदों को रोजमर्रा के जीवन से जोड़ने के लिए मानव संसाधन विकास मंत्रालय ने तीसरे अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस (21 जून, 2017) पर देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों में मौजूद जनता, खासतौर पर छात्रों और संकायों के बीच इसे प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए कई कदम उठाए हैं।
● योग ओलंपियाड 2017 दूसरा ओलंपियाड है जिसमें प्राइमरी से ऊपर के बच्चों से लेकर माध्यमिक स्तर के बच्चों को शामिल किया जाएगा। इसका आयोजन राष्ट्रीय शैक्षिक अनुसंधान एवं प्रशिक्षण परिषद (एनसीईआरटी) द्वारा 18-20 जून, 2017 के बीच एनसीईआरटी, नई दिल्ली में किया जाएगा।
● ओलंपियाड आयोजित करने के पीछे यह विचार है कि इस दौरान योग के क्षेत्र में ओलंपिक खेल कार्यक्रम या शांति दौड़ जैसा महसूस होना चाहिए। योग ओलंपियाड से शांति, सद्भाव और सहयोग में प्रेम का संदेश दिया का प्रयास किया जाएगा।
● इस वर्ष योग ओलंपियाड का आयोजन एनसीईआरटी द्वारा क्षेत्रीय शिक्षा संस्थान (आरआईई) के सहयोग से किया जाएगा। योग ओलंपियाड की थीम 'स्वास्थ्य और सद्भाव के लिए योग' होगी।
● योग ओलंपियाड का उद्देश्य किसी व्यक्ति के जीवन को योग से जोड़ने के लिए योग के तमाम पहलुओं को समझना है।
● इसका मकसद बच्चों में स्वस्थ आदत और मानवीय मूल्यों का विकास करना है। योग क्रियाकलापों के माध्यम से शारीरिक, भावनात्मक और मानसिक स्वास्थ्य का विकास करने का प्रयास किया जाएगा।
औद्योगिक सूचना प्रणाली पर जागरुकता सत्र- छत्तीसगढ
औद्योगिक नीति और संवर्धन विभाग द्वारा 15 जून, 2017 को नया रायपुर, छत्तीसगढ में औद्योगिक सूचना प्रणाली पर एक जागरूकता कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया।
● कार्यक्रम की अध्यक्षता महासमुंद के सांसद और वाणिज्य तथा उद्योग मंत्रालय की सलाहकार समिति के वरिष्ठ सदस्य श्री चन्दू लाल साहू ने की। इस कार्यक्रम में छत्तीसगढ सरकार तथा औद्योगिक संघों के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों ने भाग लिया।
● छत्तीसगढ राज्य औद्योगिक विकास निगम के महानिदेशक श्री सुनील मिश्रा ने छत्तीसगढ के उद्योगों के बारे में जानकारी दी। राज्य खनिजों से समृद्ध है और एक चौथाई बिजली राज्य से आती है। राज्य इस्पात के क्षेत्र में विशेष रुप से मजबूत है।
● औद्योगिक नीति और संवर्धन विभाग की संयुक्त सचिव वंदना कुमार ने ‘औद्योगिक सूचना प्रणाली’ पर एक प्रस्तुति दी जिसे बीआईएसएजी के सहयोग के साथ इलेक्ट्रोनिक्स और आईटी मंत्रालय के सहयोग से तैयार किया गया है।
● इस पोर्टल में कच्चे माल के साथ औद्योगिक बुनियादी ढांचे और अभी तक के नक्शे जैसी विभिन्न सुविधाओं प्रदर्शित किया गया है। वायु, रेल और सड़क मार्ग से संपर्क के प्रावधान तथा योजना के विवरण और मांग के आकलन को भी प्रस्तुत किया गया। संयुक्त सचिव ने बताया कि विभिन्न सरकारी विभाग तथा राज्य सरकारें लगातार सिस्टम में डेटा दर्ज करा रही हैं।
● पोर्टल के विकास की काफी सरहाना की गई थी। श्री चन्दू लाल साहू ने कहा कि यह पोर्टल उन राज्यों के लिए एक अवसर प्रदान करेगा जहा बढी मात्रा में उद्योग, इस्पात और बिजली कारखानें मौजूद है। यह निवेशकों को आकर्षित करेगा जिसके परिणामस्वरुप राज्य में रोजगार सृजन के अवसर पैदा होंगे। उद्योग संघों के प्रतिनधियों ने कहा कि यह प्रणाली उद्योगों के लिए बेहद उपयोगी साबित हो।
अटल पेंशन योजना (एपीवाई) को अब डिजिटल रूप से सब्सक्राइब किया जा सकता है
पेंशन निधि नियामक एवं विकास प्राधिकरण (पीएफआरडीए) ने “APY@eNPS" को शुरू कर दिया है, जिसमें सम्पूर्ण डिजिटल नामांकन प्रक्रिया शामिल है।
● अटल पेंशन योजना के विस्तार के लिए पीएफआरडीए ने जो विभिन्न कदम उठाये हैं, उसकी यह अद्यतन श्रेणी है। इसके तहत लोगों को ज्यादा आसानी होगी। पीएफआरडीए ने कोलकाता, बेंगलूरू और मुम्बई के बैंकों तथा डाक विभागों के साथ बैठकें की हैं।
● पीएफआरडीए के सीजीएम श्री ए.जी.दास ने अभी हाल में मुम्बई में आयोजित एक बैठक को संबोधित किया, जिसमें बैंकों और डाक विभागों के आईटी विभाग/नोडल अधिकारियों ने हिस्सा लिया।
● पीएफआरडीए ने सेवा प्रदाताओं को एपीवाई के अंतर्गत APY@eNPS के प्लेटफार्म की जानकारी दी। इस अवसर पर 45 से अधिक बैंक अधिकारी उपस्थित थे। एपीवाई सेवा प्रदाताओं को APY@eNPS के चैनल को 30 जून, 2017 के पहले विकसित करने के बारे में बताया गया।
● एपीवाई को प्रधानमंत्री द्वारा 9 मई, 2015 को शुरू किया गया था और यह 01 जून, 2015 से चालू हो गई थी। एपीवाई 18 से 40 वर्ष के आयु वर्ग के सभी भारतीय नागरिकों के लिए उपलब्ध है।
● एपीवाई के अंतर्गत सभी सब्सक्राइबरों को 1,000 रूपये, 2,000 रूपये, 3,000 रूपये,4,000 रूपये और 5,000 रूपये की न्यूनतम गारंटीशुदा पेंशन 60 वर्ष की आयु से मिलेगी। यह पेंशन एपीवाई में शामिल होने के समय और उनके योगदान के अनुरूप होगी।
वित्तमंत्री श्री अरूण जेटली ने कोरिया की प्रमुख कंपनियों के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के साथ बैठक की
केंद्रीय वित्त,कार्पोरेट और रक्षा मंत्री श्री अरूण जेटली ने कल कोरिया गणराज्य के राष्ट्रपति महामहिम श्री मून जई इन से मुलाकात की।
● वित्त मंत्री श्री अरूण जेटली ने राष्ट्रपति श्री मून को हाल ही में हुए चुनाव मे विजय प्राप्त करने पर बधाई दी और प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी की ओर से शुभकामनाएं व्यक्त की।
● श्री जेटली ने श्री मून के क्षेत्र के प्रति उनके दृष्टिकोण और भारत के साथ संबंधों की सराहना करते हुए प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी द्वारा भारत दौरे के निमंत्रण का पुनः स्मरण कराते हुए आशा व्यक्त कि दोनो नेताओँ के बीच शीघ्र ही भेंट होगी।
● कोरिया मे श्री जेटली का स्वागत करते हुए राष्ट्रपति मून ने प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेन्द्र मोदी का चुनाव में विजय प्राप्त करने के लिए उनकी शुभकामनाओं के लिए धन्यवाद व्यक्त किया।
● श्री मून ने विशेष तौर पर ट्विटर में कोरियाई भाषा मे संदेश देने के लिए प्रधानमंत्री श्री मोदी का स्मरण किया। 11 मई को प्रधानमंत्री श्री मोदी द्वारा बधाई संदेश देने के लिए किये फोन का स्मरण करते हुए श्री मून ने कहा कि दोनो पक्षों में द्विपक्षीय भागीदारी के निर्माण के लिए प्रबल इच्छा शक्ति है।

बीसीसीआई के पूर्व कोषाध्यक्ष ज्योति बाजपेयी का निधन
भारतीय क्रिकेट कंट्रोल बोर्ड (बीसीसीआई) के पूर्व कोषाध्यक्ष ज्योति बाजपेयी का 14 जून 2017 को कानपुर में निधन हो गया. वे 80 वर्ष के थे.
● वे वर्ष 1997 से वर्ष 2003 के बीच बोर्ड के संयुक्त सचिव और वर्ष 2003 से वर्ष 2005 के बीच मानद कोषाध्यक्ष थे.
● वे उत्तर प्रदेश के सबसे सम्मानित खेल प्रशासकों में से एक थे.
● कानपुर के ग्रीन पार्क में कुछ बड़े मैच कराने और स्थानीय प्रतिभाओं को मौका देने का श्रेय उन्हें ही दिया जाता है.
● ज्योति बाजपेयी ने उत्तर प्रदेश क्रिकेट संघ के निदेशक और मानद् सचिव रहते हुए प्रदेश में खेलों के विकास में अहम भूमिका निभाई.
● वे कुशल प्रशासक होने के साथ क्रिकेटप्रेमी भी थे.

भारतीय मूल के लियो वराडकर आयरलैंड के सबसे युवा प्रधानमंत्री बने
आयरलैंड में भारतीय मूल के लियो वराडकर ने 15 जून 2017 को सबसे कम उम्र में प्रधानमंत्री का पद ग्रहण करके नया इतिहास रच दिया है.
● कैथोलिक बहुल देश के प्रधानमंत्री बनने वाले लियो वराडकर अपने समलैंगिक होने की बात खुलकर करते हैं. लियो वराडकर ने एंडा केनी से पदभार ग्रहण किया.
● वे चुनाव में 50 के मुकाबले 57 वोटों के मतों के अंतर से प्रधानमंत्री चुने गए.
● अपने निर्वाचन के बाद वराडकर ने कहा की मुझे सिर्फ नेतृत्व करने के लिए नहीं, बल्कि लोगों की सेवा के लिए चुना गया है.
● मेरी सरकार न तो वामपंथी होगी और न ही दक्षिणपंथी होगी क्योंकि पुराने समय से चला आ रहा यह विभाजन मौजूदा राजनीतिक चुनौतियों का समाधान नहीं करने वाला है.
