●        The Central Information Commission has also started its mobile app in Hindi language which is available on the Google Play Store and Apple Store with the following features.
●        Through this mobile app, applicants can file their second appeal / link paper in both Hindi and English languages.
●        Appellants can search for second appeals / complaints in both languages and can detect them.

3,597 people died in road accidents due to potholes in India in 2017
●        In a recent report published in the media, it has been reported that 3,597 people died in accidents due to roads potholes in India in 2017.
●        That is, on average, on the roads of India, 10 people are losing their lives every day due to pits.
●        If compared to the previous year, then this number is 50 percent more than the deaths in 2016.
 
 
Office Leasing increased by more than 10% in top cities
 
●        During the first half of 2018, in the top nine cities of the country, office leasing increased by more than 10% to about 20 million square feet.
●        Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad and Mumbai are ahead in the office leasing with 80% of the shareholding.
●        Small-sized transactions with less than 10,000 square feet in total transactions account for about 44%.
●        The mid-size transaction of 10,000-50,000 square feet was 42 percent.


Diesel-petrol sales per person, highest in Goa
 
●        According to the per capita in the country, Goa consumes most petrol and diesel .
●        In 2017-18, the per capita petrol sale in Goa is 119.7 kg, which is almost six times the national average (19 kg) of per capita consumption.
●        In Goa, the sale of 225.6 kg diesel per person is 3.5 times the national average of 66.9 kg.
●        On the contrary, the record of lowest petrol per capita in Bihar is 6.7 kg and 22 kg of diesel.
●        It is one-third of the national average of sales.


5-6 government banks to get Rs 8000 crore from center
 
●        The government can give up to 8,000 crore rupees to those 5-6 banks in the public sector, which may lack the capital as per regulatory requirements.
●        Besides the other lenders in the list of government-funded banks , there may be names of Punjab National Bank stranded in the Nirav Modi scam .
●        The government can not allow public sector banks to default on such payments, as this will have negative impact on their rating.

8th India-Oman Joint Commission Meeting begins in Muscat
 
●        Suresh Prabhu co-chaired the 8th session of the India-Oman Joint Commission Meeting with Dr. Ali Bin Masoud Al Sunaidi, Minister of Industry, Investment, Trade and Digital Economics of Oman in Muscat today.
●        In the meeting of the Joint Commission, issues related to space, renewable energy, start up, small and medium enterprises, food security, service sector, tourism sector etc. were discussed.


Trump gave right to dismiss direct H-1B applications to immigration officials
●        The Trump Administration has given its officers the right to dismiss the visa applications in certain circumstances.
●        Now the immigration officers of the United States can directly reject the visa applications for which the "preliminary evidence" is not submitted or the ability to obtain a visa can not be proven.
●        This new policy of the US Government will apply to all applications received from September 11.

Successful test of BrahMos missile
●        Today, 1017 hrs successfully tested SuperSonic cruise missile BrahMos from integrated testing area of Balasore, Odisha.

●        This missile flew on its scheduled direction and all its important components have done the exact job.

●        Singer Aruna Sairam will be honored with Music Kalanidhi Award of Music Academy this year.
●        The Executive Committee of the Academy decided to honor Sairam with the consensus in the meeting held on July 15, 2018.
●        Aruna is a famous singer of the Karnataka vocal genre.
●        Sairam will chair the 92nd Annual Conference of the Academy which will be held between 15 December 2018 and 1 January 2019.

Hindustan Unilever profits up by 19% 
 
●        Hindustan Unilever 's net profit rose 19.17 percent to Rs 1,529 crore in the first quarter ended June, of the current financial year.
●        In the same quarter of the previous financial year, the company had earned a net profit of Rs. 1,283 crore.
●        In the information sent to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the company said that its income increased 3.07 per cent to Rs 9,622 crore during the quarter, from Rs 9,335 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

Approval of LIC Board of Directors for 51% stake in IDBI Bank
 
●        The Life Insurance Corporation of India has got approval from the board of directors for the acquisition of 51 percent stake in public sector IDBI Bank.
●        LIC will now get the approval of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for this.
●        Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (Erda) has already approved the purchase of this stake to the company.
